Sounds like you're headed up digitizer lane.
Has the device suffered any hard impacts?
Looks like there are different digitizers for the tmo-hd2 and others so choose wisely.
good day.
So glad to have the HTC Sensation India launch announced by HTC yesterday!!
Planning to buy one after having cherished the timeless, ageless wonderphone HTC HD2 till date, but also want to be careful about general issues that you friends (current users of HTC Sensation) might have experienced so far.
Please share your valuable experience, friends!
P.S.: The HTC Sensation announced for India is only the 3G variant, and not the 4G one launched in the western worlds.
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur Dave.

I have been reading a lot about the HTC Sensation 'Death Grip' issue that existed bigtime with the iPhone 4 that was launched.
But following a thread here in this section, people are divided over the existence of the 'Death Grip' issue. And I have come to the conclusion that the issue does not exist on every HTC Sensation handset. If it exists for one user who bought this phone, it may not exist on the next handset purchased and vice versa.
Do share your experience on the reported issue when you get your respective HTC Sensation handsets.
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur R. Dave.
No issues here.. its solid as a rock.. u know i am not even missing rooting it.. as the stock is strong...
Cool!

Congratulations Prateek for the 'Death-grip' bug-free phone you are enjoying! Thanks for your feedback.
Shall continue to wait to hear the experience from our two other friends who have/shall have the HTC Sensation.

Mayur R. Dave.

Just to clear things up - the death grip on the iPhone 4 drops your calls, and it occurs while holding your Phone in a normal manner.
This isn't a cause of concern on the Sensation. You have to grope it, not so much grip it, around the upper half of the phone. This almost decimates your WiFi signal, not the cellular signal. Or even lay it completely flat on your palm (it works just fine lying on a table as seen in numerous videos).

I got mine this evening. Here are the first impressions:
1. Device is mind-blowingly beautiful! It is the katrina Kaif of the mobile phone world!
2. Its incredibly slim but at the same time feels very well built!
3. The screen is just awesome! qHD resolution makes it possible to read even the smallest of letters! The colors too are pretty good. I just cant even imagine how good the sAMOLED+ of S2 must be, given that it is percieved to be better looking than S-LCD.
4. It is fast! And I mean it. i was up an running in 5 mins, and the phone set up all the wifi and network settings (I have a gprs connection) in no time. Browing on wifi was pure bliss.
5. Ran about 15-16 applications one after another. No problems there.
6. Found an annoying issue! Sometimes the phone shuts down after taking a picture! But holding off for now as it may be because battery was at low levels.
7. The infamous death grip is NOT there on my phone! Tried to replicate that but wifi holded very well. In the worst case it just dropped one bar! The speed was excellent (though I didnt try playing any youtube videos etc) Will do more testing/playing tomorrow.
8. Installed Quadrant. Score came out a paltry 1888! Doesnt mean much as I didnt feel any lags while so many apps were running. Even the 3-d carousal effect of the homescreens is running quite easily on my phone.
So only one issue so far - Phone switching off after using camera sometimes!

Yet to experience it, have taken approx 50 odd photos in different conditions to check which camera setting will produce good results..
EDIT
I had this weird thing this morning. I had put my phone on charging last night.. this morning when i woke up i saw the LED turned Green so i Unplugged the charger,, and tried to turn the screen on.. but no luck.. I had to take out the battery and re-insert.. and it showed that the battery level was 63%.. funny.. as it was on charge for almost 7 hours and it did show a green led...
Another thing.. so I put it back on charged.. it charged pretty fast uptill 99% then took almost hald an hour to get to 100% from there...
Any ideas.. any similar experienes?

Actually there is a page here on xda on modern batteries behavior. Once fully charged, they are expected to keep on draining a little even if charger is plugged. this is supposed to protect overcharging/increase life etc. you can search and read it more in detail.
But drain to 63% is fishy!
I left mine for overnight charging (unplugged after about 8 hours - this was the first full charge). Played with the phone for about 4 hours in the morning (transfer of contacts from my earlier HTC Touch Diamond, trnasfer of about 4 GB of music and photos, downloaded few apps from market, wifi ON all the time, Bluetooth ON all the time, took a few snaps of my daughter. After that my battery indicator was showing 80%+ charge. Seems excellent!

Take the Quadrant scores with a grain of salt. The MSM8260 is an asynchronous processor and Quadrant can't recognize that.
just bought mine ..............funny thing is i found dust under the screen in first 3 htc sensation handsets opened by the retailer so i checked the fourth one and bought it,it is also having tiny dust particle in it........so it seems when checked throughly there is some dust beneth the screen in most of the sensation handsets available rightnow......some r visible in grey/black background and some in white background..........its very annoying when we pay 30k and facing with these issues............

Could you tell me what City and Shop you bought it from? The shopkeepers I spoke to here said any problem faced after opening the box would have to be dealt with by contacting the HTC Tech Support. There wouldn't be any considerations about these things from their side.
One of the noobs suggested I don't buy the Phone if there was a likelihood of so many problems... great suggestion (/sarcasm) I think I might've scared him a bit though O
Everything has been perfect for me so far. The death grip situation hasn't affected me, I'm not sure what others are doing or how they hold their phones. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Hey Friends!
Seems like this thread has come alive with India getting this phone launched here!!
Well, since I was the creator of this thread, and after reading your reviews about the HTC Sensation, I decided to write to HTC about this and to get to know more about the 'Wifi and BT signal issues in landscape mode'.
So on the HTC India webpage, under Support tab is where I wrote an e-mail to them.
3 days later, they replied by e-mail, in detail, which I would summarize as follows:
a. They thanked and all that and said that they tried calling me but I was not reachable on my cell phone! Funny since no one from my known friends/contacts have told me that since ages. I also have 'Missed call alert' service activated by my operator, in case I was not reachable. Now this is the beginning of the funny explanation by HTC.
b. They said that holding the phone in landscape mode 'should not' make the phone behave weird in any ways. But further they suggested that if the HTC Sensation behaves so, please spread out your fingers to let the antennas not be covered completely and such crap.
Finally, their response shows their fear for committing that the HTC Sensation is free from the widely-reported issue. Their language brings out their lack of confidence and so I wouldn't take the chance to buy the HTC Sensation, even though I was greatly desirous of buying it!
HTC HD2 shall continue to be my phone!
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur Dave.
P.S.: The 'dust under the screen' was another brilliant issue we've found here!
hallo guys i'm new in this forum i have a motorola xt720, i'm being using it almost a year and no problem at all, since a month ago there is something came out on the touch screen like a oval small blue dot.can some one tell me what i have to do with it? thanks alot guys
ohhh looks like your screen needs replacement. But before that try another rom.It might be a rom bug
Hi,
My aunt dropped her one s which shattered the screen completely.
I ordered a replacement screen and followed a video guide on how to replace it
(i've replaced screens on other phones before so I thought I could manage )
The screen turns on, but it does not respond to touch... Any ideas on what I should check or what I might have done wrong?
It would be great to be able to give her the phone back as a christmas present so any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks and happy holidays!
Sorry for the late response, so I don't know if this still pertinent to you, but did you replace just the screen or the whole screen + digitizer? If only the screen, the digitizer might be broken making the touchscreen not work hope this helped
No problem
I changed both:

I had G2(new) bought in march 2014 and flappy bird lagged badly for example and system also a bit,the battery wasnt great ,while today i tried the G2 in one shop and it dosent lag and i replaced the G2 with Alcatel Idol X6040 (used) and i was proud with it dont know why but even with that mediatec superslow processor i was happy until my screen broke in my hands because i was angry. After that i sold it and bought lumia 925 white and it looked so good ,but battery was awful even with hard reset and system change it was also overheating, i didnt like windows either no screen rotation lock in nofication pull til windows 8.1,also no option to set snooze duration to 3min ,explorer was crashing. Then i sell it and buy Galaxy S4 camera very good but batery there and there aceptable but system laged i tried alot of roms it started to lag more then stock even i tryed CM12 CM11 CM10 some stock based roms and tryed Google play rom but when i tryed my friends Glaaxy s4 same model it didnt lag at all. Then i sell phone and buy HTC ONE m7 (used) and i like all on it and software very much but the man that sold me that HTC ONE M7 (used) sold me with the purple camera problem and vibration was not working .Also camera is 4mpix and i really love good camera didnt know that it will be that bad.Now i dont know what to do i thoght about G2 ,but now i watch over internet camera is rear camera is bad as the front is i thoght it was just problem to my hardware then.Well then im now thinking to buy Motorla Droid Turbo(Maxx) that still dosent exist in my country and all loooks good on it im now searching internet does it have any issues Well now because it dont know should i wait i wanted to buy Z1 Compact white its really good looking and its compactbut camera isnt same as on Z1 even if it is same sensor battery is very good on that phone but im scared of self creaking screen that appears on Z,Z1,Z2,Z3while my dad has Z1 and Z and screen never cracked,if that wasnt right i would take it even if it has very poor flash and speaker and very non screech proof screen with that foil and back that is also not screch proof. Then i think about Lumia 1020 that has best camera but front is okand 2000mah battery that last not very long ,and awful windows even it dosent have normal lockscreen as android device and dosent have option to set alarm snooze time to 3min for example that i use on androidiThen i thought about Nexus 5 that has now ok camera not front its super fast and battery is awful but it looks very nice i like ruber like thing on back. And now i dont know what to do i wanted also M8 because i like HTC but that camera is super awful maybe im wrong about M8 i saw some samples that are good............On HTC M9 it will be 20mpix but the screen will be larger. Also i like more the design of m7 the m8 also i like silver more the gun metal. So whats your opinion? :good: Thanks
Hi there,
The best way to get opinions on this would be to register on xda and ask in this thread,
> General discussion > Questions and Answers > **DEVICE SUGGESTION THREAD** -- Not sure what device to buy? Ask here!
Good luck!
