Error installing on new flasher - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Good day. What happens is that I tried to install a rom by twrp which was not installed well since when starting only a black screen appeared, so I tried to restore a factory rom by newflahser and I got an error in the process, I disconnected the device and Again the error appeared to me, when igniting it only the animation is restarted. At the moment the only thing I could start was the recovery twrp that I could reinstall, is there any way I could install a rom from there so I can start or restore some backup? The detail is that I do not have any backup, so it would be possible to install a backup of another device that could provide me? Thank you

Where did you get the rom from and was it the correct one for your device?

If the rom I installed was the existence, I could solve a part by doing a factory reset from twrp because apparently internal storage had been disabled. Now the problem I have is that my device recognizes it at times my pc and then disconnects so I am not confident of flashing it

First, eXistenz can't be installed by itself. You have to have a stock, or in some cases (Tomahawk) a custom rom installed.
Second if your pc doesn't recognize your device or drops the connection you might have a bad cable or port or you don't have correct drivers installed.
Can you reset the phone to factory? What errors were you getting in newflasher?

If I installed it in the stock ROM and it worked fine, the problem arose when installing an addon for that rom which only showed me a black screen at startup. Regarding the ports, I don't think it's the problem because I tried another computer and the same thing happened. In new flasher the error appeared later

Are you talking about the Aroma addon? I was able to install it without issue, but there might be something you're deleting that's causing it not to boot. Try installing it and don't change anything and see what happens. You can always use pm package uninstall through adb and delete what you want there, but the same thing applies if you uninstall the wrong things.

I will try it, at least I could already format the phone by new flasher (it turned out that the problem was due to the cable that disconnected the phone)

It's working here. Do USB icons show up next to the clock?
Just flashed the same ROM. USB works fine for me.
no USB icon next to clock, tried re-flashing, even ran a super wipe script.
the weirder thing is that with other ROMs everything is working fine, except the 3g on tf101g.
we'll try flashing again.
OK tried re-flashing, re-wiped trough cold boot menu, format each partition seperatly still not working.
does anybody maybe knows which files of the rom are responsible for the 3g working fine.
that way i'll b able to create a hybrid.
thanks for any help guys

Don't wipe with script. Do a normal wipe and install it again.
did it already, with and witout a script.
startong to think that maybe something is wrong with my firmware.
how can i check my device's firmware?>??
it does not show at the About section...
Got it fixed you guys..
so if anyone ever encounter these problems hre the steps i took to sort it out:
Fisrt, symptoms:
1)device isn't being recognized when connectd to a pc
2)device reset it self every few miutes
solution:
reflash recovery bootloader and firmware, i used that zip file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552303
then, you will see that the recovery console has changed and that you can't install CM9 Rom.
so what i have done is re-installing the new recovery by Roach
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723
then format all partitions and re-installing CM9 everything worked for me after these steps

Device unable to mount SD

So I have ran into a big problem. Yesterday I installed CleanROM 6.0 R2 and everything seemed fine until I woke up this morning. My device was turned off so I charged it a bit and powered it on. It was stuck on the HTC boot screen so I decided to use TWRP to recover the ROM. The problem is it says the SD card is unmounted. I got careless and started trying to wipe the SD card, format it, etc. to no avail. Now I can no longer get into TWRP.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am not sure what to do anymore =(

Just an update... tried using ruu and getting error 171, using 2 different PCs. Once it tries to reload boot loader the phone doesn't turn on at all. Manually made no difference. Nothing seems to work. And since relocking the bootloader instead of receiving the error mentioned on the top I get a "remote: signature fail". Something else strange is the HTC boot screen no longer appears, instead going straight into the boot loader.
I've gathered with further tinkering when a command needs to reboot the phone it doesn't do it. I'm now trying to unlock the boot loader again, all goes well until it reboots then nothing happens. It's like it fails to write anything. I think earlier when I messed with TWRP before it stopped working I genuinely screwed something up with the SD card.
Try to hookup the phone to a Windows PC, go to Device Manager, and see if you have the option to format the SD.
EDIT: Just saw here that your main problem is communication between the PC and your phone (which would also explain why you can't mount SD). Try to reinstall HTC Sync, and also try another USB port on the PC.

USBDeview
use this software to uninstall all the devices you think are related to your phone. it doesn't physically remove the drivers it will just allow your computer to reconfigure them, see if that helps. even if it doesn't it is a great utility to keep around.

It reconfigured Android 1.0 (My HTC) and QHUSB_DLOAD when I try running the RUU software again.. Something worth mentioning is I've tried 3 different PCs all with HTC sync installed.

remember htc sync is pretty much useless always disable it, all you need are drivers. if u have htc sync installed disable or close it before doing anything important.

It's not open or anything. At first I just had the basic HTC drivers but been told to have the sync software installed. Either way I'm beginning to think the memory is faulty now, have messed with this thing for to long...

[Q] Oneplus won't start anymore...

Hello all,
My oneplus one (64gb black) wont start anymore.
How did this happen?
Well,
yesterday after some trouble on my oneplus i tried an factory reset but my TWRP got stuck,
so i started the phone which was still fully working and wiped this: dalvik cache, system, data and cache
But because of that i didn't had a OS anymore ( i didn't know this was going to happen)
So i tried to install CM11 through fastboot commands but every time i got CRC errors in CMD.
So i tried it again and suddenly my phone wouldn't turn on anymore.
I charged it then for 12 hours but still didn't work.
Fastboot wont work, recovery won't work, it doesn't charge ( or atleast i cannot see it on the screen and on the led)
I tried to powercycle it but that doesn't work either.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks!
BTW: Sorry for the bad english.
Maybe it could help to press the power-button for a long time. That's not a joke Try holding it for a least 10 seconds.

Thanks for the answer but that doens't work either.
And what did you think that will happend when you wiped "system" partition?
I also bricked oneplus when I tried to revert to stock CM11 by flashing one-by-one cm11 partitions, but I found thread about unbricking phone using ColourOS firmware.
Look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unbrick-oneplus-one-t3013732

Thanks for the answer and yes i know but i was not thinking about it when i did that.
But i did what you said but the tutorial says this:
You can now proceed to install unsigned drivers from the file you downloaded. Open Device Manager, you should be seeing ugly yellow warning under other devices for QHUSB_BULK. Right click on the name and select Update Driver Software > Browse my Computer for driver software.
But the problem is that my pc doesn't recognize anything so i cannot see it in device manager.
Thanks

My phone is working again! Jeejj
The problem was the unknown device at device manager, so what i did was disconnecting my phone from pc and then press the power button for 1 min, connect it back and then the device manager recognized it!
I'm now flashing it back to exodus rom!
Thanks all!!
I have this situation before, wiping everything dalvik/cache/system/data and internal storage. So my phone has nothing, just few empty file. Now how do I solve it ?
Simply I boot into TWRP. Luckily the driver detect my phone after I connect to pc so I open internal storage, copy the rom and gapps and put em on TWRP folder. Then just go to install on TWRP and look for the folder and voila, flash and phone back to healthy state.
Never ever ever delete that internal storage again lol.
Indeed man
But with me TWRP wasn't available either so yea...
It wont happen again haha
But thanks bro!

Nexus 5 bootloop, stuck in Rom intro - Don't know how to connect it to my pc

First of all, I'm pretty noob this days on Android so I'm very sorry guys, also english is not my first language.
My nexus was working great until today. I ended a Whatsapp Call and get a black screen, phone looks frozen (happened before). Reboot it and works fine for 5-10 minutes, after that it started to reboot itself the whole time in bootlop, stuck in the rom intro, after the Google text. My rom is one of the very first roms from Slim Roms, I'm sorry I don't remember the Android Version, but is "old".
I can access to the recovery mode tho. I tried to wipe dalvik cache and the TWRP failed, wipe and factory reset, fail as well... I don't know what else to do. I don't have any image to install in the sd, or any backup. Windows 10 recognize an "android" but can't access to it so I can't copy any file to it.
Is my phone dead or can I do something? I love this phone :crying:
Any help please? I tried using ADB and get to copy some files into the phone but still every time I try to do a wipe cache, factory reset or what ever I get a Unable to mount Data / Cache / Storage... every time the same error.
I google it and found that some people could fix that error by repairing the file system and select ext4. But I can't do that, my TWRP build is quite old (v2.6.3.4) and doesn't have that option here. Any suggestions?
Thanks btw
Me again
I've been reading forums for more than 7 hours today and trying different solutions, and nothing. But found this guy here https://androidforums.com/threads/is-my-nexus-5-dead.1099076/
He basically had the same issue as me few years ago, exactly the same, He didn't find any luck apparently.
How is it possible that a phone that can get access to TWRP or copy/flash files via ADB/Fastboot can't be saved? Theoretically in this case this is not a hard bricked, right? So? This is so so weird
It's possible that portions of the internal memory are damaged.
The only thing left to try is flash a stock ROM using ADB commands. I recommend trying a KK ROM.
No OS but twrp working
Hello friend.
If I have understood your problem correctly then you have twrp working but no os.
I found that there is an option in twrp to enable MTP. once you do that you will be able to access it. While the phone is in recovery mode connect it to the computer and it will get recognized and you can transfer zip file to it and then flash a new os.
Cheers!

Also tried that: new rom+ gapps via usb adb and the TWRP says Failed...
I mean I still have OS because every single time I try to turn on my phone the animation screen of the Slim Rom goes in. The problem is I can't install anything new, no new rom, no factory image, no new version of TWRP, I can't wipe data or cache or do a factory reset because I get a big red Failed always. Feelsbad

Try this: lock the bootloader and reboot back into the bootloader. If the bootloader remains locked, that's a good sign. If the bootloader is unlocked, that is a bad sign.

Shieeeet... So nothing to do I guess? I already ordered a new phone but if I can save this beauty would be great
It would be great to fix it but the simplest solution may be to buy a nexus 5 with a smashed screen and working motherboard. I've done this before and it's worked out well because the nexus 5 is pretty old by today's phone standards so I got it cheap.
hmm not a bad idea at all. Thank you!
