Having been in contact with Huawei facebook support, they have checked my imei and tell me my Mate 8 is for the Southeast Asia market - no surprise there as I bought it from eBay. So with a Mate 8 from Singapore or thereabout, how do I go about getting a uk rom on it? preferably emui 5 based? If it were a Samsung i'd just flash the normal way through odin, but I don't know with the Mate if region specifics are going to be an issue, or if i might wipe my imei or something horrific.. Is there a tut on updating an NXT-L29 'specseas' unit? I have looked!!
Sites like this http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/08/download-huawei-mate-8-b320-marshmallow-firmware-europe/ say things like 'This update should only be installed on C432 based European Mate 8 handsets'.

Huawei's facebook team have come back to me saying 'The Mate 8 Build Number should be Mate 8 NXT-L29C432B192 or NXT-L09C432B192 (depends on the exact model number).' This has lead me to http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/10/download-huawei-mate-8-b192-marshmallow-update-europe/#more-9728 where I have downloaded the L29 version and copied the Update.app to my ext card as suggested. Could someone tell me if updating my phone this way is likely to cause me issues? i'm just copying off the entirety of my sd card expecting a full wipe at some point..

Successful install of NXT-L29C636B560? yesterday then OTA updated to NXT-L29C636B563. Unfortunately the battery life has taken quite a hit, so now going to try NXT-L29C636B585 I guess!

EDIT: B585 installed through the firmware finder app! hopefully i wont get through the battery so quickly now!
Hello everyone, I need my help, I bought my Honor 8 in Gearbest, version AL-10 (Chinese), but I made the huge mistake in updating, and with that it was only on the screen of eRecovery, searching the internet I found some steps and I did it, but now my cell phone does not call anymore, it's only on the screen with the Blue Honor logo, I can not do anything else, I do not enter eRecovey anymore, I can only enter Fastboot mode, but the phone is locked, Unlock this mode, from what I read I need to unlock it, but I do not have the product id to complete the unlock process, does anyone have any light on how it could make him come back to life?
How do you get it back into eRecovery mode?

You bought a chinese model of Honor 8 (AL10). But, did it came with a AL10 firmware or, in most cases of imported models, a rebranded one. (L14 or L19 maybe).
Rebranded chinese models (AL00 and AL10) are known to bootloop with recent firmwares. The last working firmware, for my own rebranded AL00 phone, is B380.
I advise you to rebrand your AL10 to L19, with the help of this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-honor-8-to-frd-l19-t3632220 (L19 Firmware link is dead, another link here: https://mega.nz/#!ELQXnYgb!H7c0hCSIZ6N3ljMBm8JD21-aaNY3E-1JD0M99dntr7o)
Then update to B380 using "Firmware Finder for Huawei" app -or- "dload" folder method -or- RedLotus method. (For the last one: HiSuite 5.0.1.300 needed, download link here. 1st i want to say, that I am not a phone expert. I got (I could not choose) this Mate 9 but how you already know it's chinese version. I was researching but after reading so many threads and websites I got tired and confused that I had to sing up for help. I would like to ask if there is a option how to unlock bootloader, because the officially way through Huawei website seems to be shut down. The link for registration for the unlock code does not work and I could not find any information about it on the huawei website. So is there any free way how to unlock it ? I want to change the region and get fully English rom. Another question is, I read on couple websites that AL00 should get the new EMUI 8, I have in the phone 5 and I am wondering how to upgrade to version 8. Again I found some info and files for download but boodloader has to be unlocked but on other side I saw something that it should be officially upgrade, so I will still need unlock bootloader ? If no, how can I make upgrade to emui 8 ? Current I have B186 and next new upgrade I have B233, I didn't download that one yet. Do I need some special build and after it will be installed will show up the upgrade to emui 8 ?

On Google play there is an app called Huawei firmware finder
On that there's 2 updates... Don't see full ota files though.
Yes I know that. In no way we can find system.img in them. I wonder how come huawei is not updating the firmware finder with their database. Looks its just intentional and similar to their tantrum when you ask a bootloader unlock code.
Maybe someone has a Stock twrp backup with the system.img for you.

Bro, I assume this is the one I got last night. I restored in TWRP, but after that, there is no sim detected. Now I'm on stock with no sim detected and imei shows null. If I try to flash twrp or custom rom now through fastboot, it says command not allowed. Please help me with getting back a stock working device.

First I contacted Huawei in Japan. Then I was told to contact Huawei in China because this is the Chinese version. Then I was told to take it to Huawei service center in China. Since I live in Japan, I cannot go there, so I have to fix it myself. Can someone please help me...
What we tried
Check for updates from Settings
→It is labeled as the latest version.
Check for updates from HiSuite
→It shows as the latest version. Can't even rollback.
Use eRecovery
→！Getting package info failed
MicroSD/USB Update
→Failed (It is possible that the roms I downloaded are wrong, but I don't have any other roms to download, so I can't try)
I have not done any modifications such as rooting or unlocking the bootloader on this device. I just downgraded it with Hisuite...
