need advice..... - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys i want to buy note 10 pro. But before buying i need to know something.... i am presently using note 8. There are few things which i really like in note 8 but are missing in note 10. First there is no seperate bixby key. It is incorporated in power button which i read can can be customized. There are 2 options available. Single press to launch an app like bixby and press and hold for power off menu. In note 8 bixby button can be remapped like single press to open bixby, double press to open bixby home and press and hold for bixby voice. But in note 10 there is only double press option. So is there any way to add single press option in side key customization menu ?????
2nd is related to samsung health app. In note 8 there is heart rate sensor but not in note 10 so does samsung health app on note 10 miss features like heart rate and sp02 monitor or these features are there and use camara flash ????
Pls answer me so that i can plan to buy note 10 or note 9

Add new items to hardware buttons?

Hello,
I have a redmi note 3 and since it has an ir blaster I want to improve the use of it.
I have the app anymote smart remote where I have programmed my controller so 1 press will do a bunch of tasks at the same time, and it has a widget that I can use so I don't have to unlock to turn on my screen or whatever I have programmed the app to do.
Now, is it possible to make it like if I hold down volume up with a locked screen, the phone will press the widget by itself so I don't have to turn on the screen to press it. Like an app that reassign hardware buttons and can use widgets and such?
You could try Tasker + GravityBox/Xposed Additions

Camera Quick Launch Setting

The Double press home button to quick launch camera setting is not available in the Indian Variant of S8 and S8 Plus.
I was thinking if there is a CSC workaround that would bring back that option?
I don't want to remap my Bixby key to that.

Leagoo Kiicaa Power: add screenshot capability

hi all
I have this chinese MTK smartphone running android 7.
I would like to add a fast way to make screenshot, better without app.
I know it is possible in android doing that pressing vol down+power button, but it is not confortable because all buttons are in one side of the phone.........and that phone is used by a pretty old person
For example, in the Huawei P9 you can find "take screenshot" in the quick bar options.......
That would be perfect......
Or in some phones when you press power button in that menu, among power off, reboot, ecc.....choice you have take screenshoot.
Or for example, would be nice to do it by long pressing home button......instead of launching gogle......
I know you understand what I mean.......
The phone is rooted by the way......
thanks a lot

It is possible to do, but not easy. I added it in the power menu of my Samsung Tab 3. You would have to decompile the framework-res.apk and baksmali framework.jar and framework2.jar... then you'd have to try to understand and manipulate the smali. There is an older thread on this for the S3 that might help some, but the smali would be a little different.

How to S7 buttons to work like previous Galaxy phones?

Have been only using galaxy android phone, S7 they changed the buttons functions. The menu buttons is now "recently opened app scroll", and holding down the home button now gives google assistance or s voice and menu function is now assigned to holding the back button.
How can I get my S7 to function like previous galaxy phones? Menu button is menu function, holding the home button should be recently opened app scroll. I have been using this for 7 years and it is really annoying to learn a new layout.
Thanks.
I don't think you can do it other than using on screen buttons. The menu button hasn't been used in over 4 years IIRC
I'm using Button Mapper for changing button functionality.

Have you already tried this app:

Button Mapper allows you to remap any action you want to physical or capacitive hardware buttons. This includes volume buttons, camera button, home button on Samsung devices and capacitive home, back and recents, Bixby, Active Edge, LG assistant...

I am using another app:
[App] bxActions - Remap the Bixby button on S10! single, double and long press!
With bxActions you can completely remap the Bixby button on S10 to any action or app you like! Use the Bixby button to mute your phone, take a screenshot, turn on flashlight or launch any app you like! Also works on lockscreen or when the screen...
