Samsung Galaxy Notes 10.1 - Upgrade help please - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have an old tablet, Samsung Galaxy Notes 10.1, GT-N8010, 4.1.2 OS, Build JZO54K.N8010XXUCMG1. Certain applications are not working, which is really annoying me. I want to upgrade the OS to enable these apps to work again.
What options do I have? Is it easy to move to 4.4.2?
Any help please or guidance please

Thanks, can i use any other later firmware for my device, or i'm i limited due to the hardware?

Also on SamMobile the firmware is archived, so only available to premium users. ☹

Thanks again.

Hi All,
Job is done, had to use odin version 3.07.
Leaves me with one problem though - battery takes ages to charge, apart from that all looks good.
Any ideas on the battery issue?

Help needed

Hi,
last week i bought a Samsung note 10.1 from china. When i got home i found out that i don't have Google play and other Google apps. I read that i could just change the room without rooting the device, using Odin.
Can someone please explain me exactly how i do it, how do i choose what Rom i need, etc?
Here are some details:
Model: GT-N8010
Build number: JZO54K.N8010ZCCMB1
Android:4.1.2
Thanks in advance!
top right corner = search bar. Use words flash with odin snote 10.1...
Just ROOT your device and install google play
when that doesn`t help enough change build.prop
Here some info that might help u
no need to change entire rom
I prefer not to root it if not needed.
Can i use any rom that i want?
Yes u can....
But most roms are already pre rooted so i see no gain from this
Not from sammobile... These are stock samsung roms... You need to join and find a rom you want. Just be aware that people have had problems with flashing chinese roms onto other countries tablets, seems to be around modem.bin in the flash, this may also affect you too....
Just to be completely sure, i can use this ROM with Odin even though i bought the note from China/Honk Kong and i am gonna use it in Israel?
Thanks for the help
The question i would ask first is it a genuine Samsung Galaxy Note not some fake / clone .

Yes, it is genuine

So have you succeeded in flashing any stock rom which includes playstore?
cause when I flash it, it fails at flashing the modem.
I succeeded but it won't boot so i flashed the original back...
We have a second exact note 10.1 that was also bought from china/honk kong and we asked from the seller to have a regular rom, and now i have a non-Chinese rom on my second note.
I'll try to ask him how he did it next time, maybe 2-3 weeks.

Try Mobile ODIN... Others have had success using this BUT make sure you have either a nandroid backup or the stock rom...Preferably both...

[Q] Is SamMobile safe? (newbie quesion)

Hello
I was wondering if the Roms available on SamMobile were really safe and clean? Given they're not working FOR Samsung, where do they get those?
I'm wondering because I noticed there was a link that came with my phone originally that wasn't there when I restored a ROM I took from SamMobile.
Thank you!

I flashed many devices with odin and firmware downloaded from SamMobile.com and i never had any problems with it. The provided firmwares are not modified and seem to be 100% official versions.
No need to worry about sammobile as it is safe and clean.
It is all in one resource for Samsung stock roms. I used so many roms for different models from there and never faced any issues.
Can you please describe which link you got additional ??

Nothing important really but there was a link to my carrier's mobile site and SamMobile listed the ROM with the name of my carrier. So I thought it had been modified. But maybe it's just because it's the same version as the one my carrier offers but doesn't come FROM my carrier?

No it's not official, I read somewhere they were named Samsung Firmware before they had to change to Sam Firmware at Samsung's request (before they were named SamMobile). I can't find where I read this though.

You're probably right, but one thing you can be sure that sammobile is a safe site....
Alright thanks everyone!
Not official, but safe. They make their money by subscription services for "premium" download privileges. Maybe ads too, but I use adblock, so I wouldn't see them.
Yes me too. But I do wonder where they get all those ROM since Samsung doesn't give the out.

Sammobile updates Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 LTE
Hello,
Next newbie here
Could somebody senior please help me? I am wondering about official updates from Samsung for ROMs downloaded from sammobile, are they possible?
I've just installed Kitkat 4.4.2 on my beloved Note 3 after few days of using Darkera's Note 7 ROM when I'm tapping on "Update" in "Software Update" menu I get "Processing failed" message. Overall phone's responsiveness isn't that great, that's why I wanted to see if update is available.
Will appreciate any answers

You can't do stock updates on rooted devices with custom ROMs and custom recovery.
You have to remove root, you also need to have an UNMODIFIED system partition and you need stock recovery.
If you're using a custom ROM(your note 7 ROM is a ported stock custom ROM) then that means you are rooted and probably have custom recovery which means you need to remove root and undo any system modifications that were done in the custom ROM(including any special themes and Xposed) then flash stock recovery instead of custom recovery.
Then you might be able to do the updates but the system will be looking for your device to have straight stock with no modification, if there is any modification left behind then the update won't work.

Hi!
Thank you for your message.
Here is the list of things I did to my poor note 3 :
- rooted
- installed Darkera's note 7 rom, custom recovery and kernel downloaded also from Darkera
- unrooted with supersu
- using Odin3 I installed kitkat 4.4.2 which I downloaded from sammobile (I was told this process gonna whipe away everything - custom rom, custom recovery and kernel)
- downloaded supersu to make sure root is gone
Because of sammobile's server maintenance happening this weekend I used kitkat file I downloaded from sammobile quite some time ago (N9005XXUEND3_N9005XEOEND2_XEO for Poland) and during flashing everything went ok. But now when I go to 'settings' and 'about device' imei, modem version, baseband version are unknown and when I try to hit 'update' I get "processing failed' message. Oh, and I'm also experiencing random reboots. I'm not sure if all this is a normal thing or perhaps I did something wrong.
I hope I didn't bore you to sleep

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Could you tell us what variant of the S4 you have, i337,i9500, etc. You can't see it in the pics you posted. That'll help point you in the right direction. But in general you're going to have to flash the stock firmware in Odin.

Looking for official P3113UEALD3 firmware

Hi guys
I've searched Google, Bing, and Yahoo page by page... but I cannot find this firmware. It's the very first firmware for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3113) with Android 4.0.3. If anyone has this uploaded anywhere, please share the file with me. I'm trying to flash it. The XAR version. Thank you.
I suppose that you are guided by someone's opinion that this ROM is better than others.
Ask a question on the specialized sammobile forum.
The oldest ROM XAR for P3113 from sammobile is P3113UEBLG2 based on build IMM76D android-4.0.4_r1.1.

You sure? I used to have the Tab 2 and I got Android 4.0.3 on my GT-P3113 XAR one, but it was stolen, so I deleted it. But I just bought it again and regret deleting it. Even deleted it from my Dropbox.
SamMobile used to have 4.0.3 but it's just not there anymore. I remember because I download everything from there. I even looked online and saw people had that software.
I already have 4.0.4.
Also... no. I haven't been told it's the best (maybe it is, who knows.) But I just wanted to get this firmware.

I prefer the update.com site because SamMobile is now putting many of it's firmware downloads behind a paywall & it's a faster download IMO. Not the oldest on-line but good enough: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?exact=1&q=GT-P3113
On my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113 espressowifi I am currently running Android-Andi's unofficial Lineage 13.0 [ROM][6.x] LineageOS 13.0.

He's probably looking for android 4.0.3 PDA: LD2, but he does not even know it.
If such a system was on the tablet at the beginning and it was the first ROM for this tablet, it is impossible to have a version for the odin.
It can exist as a file only version that performs the upgrade or self-made dump partition after the root of the device.
A waste of time for further discussion.

Actually, I do know what I'm talking about. I'm looking in my OneDrive now and the file's called "HOME_P3113UEALD3_378347_REV04_user_low_ship.tar" but the file is 0B.
Got any other ways to try and make me sound like I don't know what I'm talking about?
Edit: exactly what I thought.

Galaxy Note 10.1 first released version updating

Hello there and sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section !
As detailed in the title, I own a Samsung GT N8010 tablet running right now Android 4.4.2 and I would like to update it to be able to run applications needing a 5.1 version of Android.... :crying:
Please what do you suggest as ROM for this upgrade ?
Last but not least, may I upgrade it to a more recent version (Marshmallow, Nougat or other) and, if yes, which soltion do you recommend ?
Many thanks in advance for your gentle help and all the best,
Germain
Their is no Samsung update after 4.4.2 , see multiple identical posts .
Lineage roms are the ones to look at nothing else in development .

Thank you for your response. Yes I know, Samsung left us officially at the 4.4.2 version and I was able to update it years ago till that version !
So apparently the Lineage ROM's are thus the only way to go with my old tablet...
Please may I ask a very last question: which version do you recommend as a stable one ?
Sorry none.you ca read the threads .
I use stock 4.4.2 these days.
