My Pixel 2 XL on Android 10 and Magisk 20.3 keeps getting its Sensitive Notifications setting reset to on when I reboot my phone. Anyone else experiencing this and found a fix? For now, I've set up a Tasker profile to run on boot which is definitely less than ideal.

My pixel 2 is on Dec update and has magisk. On fully charged phone, after a restart I get a handful of messages (same apps every time) saying, "App has stopped", "send feedback". DI.FM Radio is one such app that always stops. No idea what's causing these 4 or 5 apps to always "stop" after a restart.
Another odd behavior is background data sync seems to stop working---google, aquamail, sharptools, pushover. I have to open the app to get it to sync (and then see its notifications).
Not sure these two things are related. I've checked: Battery optimization, account setup (syncing), battery saver mode (off). Will uninstall Greenify and related Magisk Greenify module----just to test. Would hate to have to factory reset...just wondering if anyone else has had similar observations.
Sounds like it's greenify. Disable/uninstall it. If that's not it disable/uninstall any and all modules in magisk and see. After that I would just factory reset if it was me.

It looks like I solved my problem by reading about push notifications here:
https://help.moengage.com/hc/en-us/...not-receiving-push-notifications-sent-by-you-
It got me thinking that GCM service in my Nokia 7 plus is not properly connecting with Google’s servers. So I looked around how to hard reset my device using this tutorial:
NOTE: [THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR FILES FIRST]
http://www.techeligible.com/2018/05/27/unlock-pattern-nokia-7-plus/
select Wipe data/factory reset.
After restart configure your phone as a NEW DEVICE. Push notifications seem to work as they should. They are waking the device from sleep mode immediately.
This method will most likely work for all Android devices.

I really like this phone but the push notification problem just kills me.
When phone is in sleep mode push notification don't wake it up.
Just leave the phone on the desk for 15 minutes and send yourself an email from different device.
Same applies to WhatsApp. If someone sends me a message it can take half an hour before phone will show notification.
This is frustrating and apparently there is no fix.
I did even factory reset and the problem persists.
Tweaks like exclude app from battery optimazation don't work.
This clearly Android Oreo fault.
Google is so fixated to save battery that it castrates crucial functionality
+1 to the delayed notifications problem!
As you wake the device up, the Whatsapp icon also keep showing in the taskbar - "Checking for new messages" quite often.
that also happens at intervals while the device is ON & other apps are being run.
I hope this, the fingerprint navigation (left+right), battery SOT, stability will improve with proper update to Andro-P. and SOON!
Same problem here. "Heartbet" apps dont work either.
Same here! Maybe it's push notifications server problem?
pls. make sure that notification apps have permission to work in back ground as it may be restricted for battery saving

Gmail and WhatsApp are excluded in battery optimazation. It makes no difference.
Gmail is a Google app. It comes with system but push notifications are not working properly.
There in no other way to set apps to work in background. At least I didn't find such option...
Didn't work for me. Anybody else managed to fix this?

Anyone experiencing delayed push notifications on Android Pie?
Do you have location enabled (saving battery location setting)? Disabling location can cause notification delays.

I never really turn off location services. Is this setting you are talking about the battery optimization for apps? I can turn that off for location services.
I have 1062 with pie sideloaded and i'm not getting any push notifications from apps except for gmail. Factory reset and setting phone as new device didn't help.

1062 (if chinese with custom global rom) its not really possible to install Pie, its not stable in this one, Oreo still best for 1062

I had the exact same issue and it was really frustrating me. Resetting my phone didn’t help as detailed here. But finally after some playing around i fixed mine
In the battery settings i enabled Adaptive battery and then went into background activity manager. I enabled both auto activate and lock screen on all the apps i had problems with receiving notifications. Now i get all app notifications straight away with no delays

I've tested this solution for a couple of days and it seems it's working, thanks.

Is this for Android 8? I am having the same problem but I cant seem to find the auto activate and lock screen settings in the BAM. The only option is to blacklist. I am on Android 9.
I've been using the Pixel 3 for a few days. Today, it apparently rebooted itself overnight.
I knew because two things happened. 1) My alarm did not go off, 2), when I opened the phone it requested pattern unlock rather than fingerprint since it had been restarted.
The strange thing is that the startup process was "frozen" until I authenicated with the pattern unlock. Bluetooth devices like my watch were disconnected . Once I unlocked, I saw Bluetooth connect, and apps and notifications started loading and appearing.
My experience with prior Android phones is the system will fully load background tasks and apps when restarted, even if the user doesn't unlock it.
Is this something new for Anroid 9 or the Pixel? Is there any way to allow everything to load on restarts?
Is there any logging (other than ADB debug) that can identify the cause of spontaneous reboots?

This is normal. Until you unlock it,there's only a few things that will be available. Phone calls come to mind as one of them. Anything like Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, your bluetooth devices or any other apps won't have notifications until you unlock it. It's different than it used to be. It's a security thing. That said, I'm surprised the alarm won't work since it's a system app. I don't use it very often so I don't know it that's normal or not. From what I've read though, most apps aren't allowed to load completely after rebooting until you unlock the phone.
Hey guys,
Ever since the latest update 10.0.5, I've noticed that my screen is not timing out and remains on until I press the power button. I am rooted with Magisk and am using EdXposed YAHFA with RiruCore.
I have the sleep settings set to 15 seconds in the display option.
The timeout does work properly in certain apps (I've noticed it works fine when I have Brevent open) but is not working in the majority of applications.
I've tried to boot the phone in Safe Mode and the issue persists even there.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue or have any solutions in mind aside from a factory reset? Should I try uninstalling Edxposed and Magisk?
Delete hidden core module and you will be fine. It is a known issue caised by that app as well as crashing chrome. By the way that module doesnt really work. Only fools magisk safety net check. Other checks qill still fail

1. NFC is disabled
2. Notification reminder are set to off
3. No Flash notifications turned on
4. Data Cache Wipe already done.
5. App preferences already reset.
6. The sound heard is not available in the system list of sounds
7. Checked all installed apps , no notification access found

Install Nicecatch by Samsung. It'll log all notifications so you can view the source.

Thanks for the reply, just installed it today and waiting for the issue to occur again
Just had the issue again, have noticed a pattern this happens around same time daily, nothing shows on the nice catch app ,wondering if this can be network related ,this is driving me crazy
Just checking back again if anyone has any suggestions,i did a phone reset and didn't face the issue for a week, and now its back
Sounds like maybe the reset fixed it, but some app you're installing or some setting you're enabling is causing this. I know if I temporarily lose service (dead zone) I'll get the same notification sound as my text message.
