As the title states, I have a T-Mobile OP 7 pro thats been converted to international. I already have the dual sim tray in it and have used it with a verizon sim in slot one and google fi in slot two. Only verizon required the imei to be attached to the sim. Google fi was pop it in and go.
Both lines worked perfectly with that set up.
I'm about to be using a verizon sim and a red pocket sim on att network in it. Thats going to require me to report the imei to redpocket to activate the sim sim same as verizon.
Will only haveing the one imei reported to both carriers be an issue? and is there a way to retrieve the second imei from the phone?+
I tried searching the forums and couldn't really find an answer.
As long as your 2 sims are on different networks for example one on AT&T and one on T-mobile you should be ok. The only time you might run into an issue is if you are using an mvno's sim that uses the same network as your primary. I'm doing that right now (also on a t-mobile op7 converted to international with dual sim tray) with T-mobile as my 2ndary and soon to be gone sim and Ultra Mobile as my Primary (which also uses t-mobile's network)......T-Mobile has been reported multiple times not to pay attention to this. Other networks may not be so forgiving. To answer your last questions...there IS no second imei to retrieve. The device was intended to be a single sim device so no 2nd one was allocated. The fact it works with the same imei in both is luck more than anything else.

Thanks for the reply, the second part is what I really wasn't sure of if the phone just hid the second IMEI or if it actually didn't have one.
I should be good then. I got the AT&T Redpocket sim and main will be Verizon.

Don't quote me on this, but from days with the 6T, I'm pretty sure it's just not reported in the software correctly but on the network side there are actually two different IMEID.
You should be able to (at least on Verizon) to log in and see the IMEID that is attached to a SIM.
Try the VZW sim in slot 1 and check online for the imei. Log out and switch the sim to slot 2 and check again. Hopefully you should see a different imei. Please let us know what you find out.

@blooddragon78 couple questions for you, as I also have OP7P that I bought from t-mo and switched to international:
- Were you able to use the sim tray that came with the phone? Or did you buy an aftermarket tray? I've heard mixed messages about the tray from t-mo having physical space for 2 sim cards.
- Did you have to unlock your phone to make use of the dual SIM functionality? Or in other words, are you still making device payments to t-mo?

I purchased a dual Sim tray from Amazon. The Sim tray from T-mobile will not fit 2 Sim cards. I'm a t-mobile tech expert so I do know for sure aside from owning one and doing it. For dual Sim to work the device does need to be unlocked as it only has one imei. If you didn't unlock before the conversion you will need to convert back to get the unlock app to be able to unlock.
There were a couple of threads on xda to get unlocked in the system but you still have to run the app. Not sure if they are active still.
If you need some help dm me.
Help with Op 7 Pro Sprint Unlocked version
Hello, I sent you a private message @blooddragon78, but Imma post here as well to see if anyone else can help me out, I'll greatly appreciate it. I came across this thread on being able to convert a T-mobile OP 7 Pro to the international version and enabling dual sim functionality. I was hoping to do the same as well, but I havent made the purchase yet in case it's not doable. Im currently looking at this OP7 Pro (Sprint version) that was factory unlocked and sold on Amazon (it's the OP 7 Pro sold at USD 499 by the Farmug Store) (if will be great if you guys can check and see the product to know what I mean exactly).
My question is what is the difference and meaning between "factory unlock/ phone unlocked" vs "sim unlocked" vs "unlocked bootloader?" I know this phone is unlocked for use on different carriers (and I live in Malaysia even), but how do I convert the phone to the international version so that I can receive updates from OnePlus directly (and not through the carrier)?
And how do I enable the dual sim functionality? Do I need to unlock the bootloader? Am I able to do that myself? Because I got confused as some people say unlocking the sim can only be done by the carrier, but Im not sure what is the difference of that with unlocking the bootloader.
In addition, say if Im able to convert it to the international version and get updates from OnePlus directly, dual sim functionality is enabled and such. Will updating the OS of the phone automatically (not doing it manually) lock the network/ brick the phone?

Hi everyone
I’m kinda puzzled with this note 8 and need some advice. Recently got a note 8 from AT&T and since I was traveling I had it unlocked to use by a third party company ( since att doesn’t unlock until Device payment is complete)
I got the code, unlocked the phone successfully. Before I left USA I put a working T-Mobile sim to test if connectivity, no luck, it doesn’t work, I tried a Verizon sim, nothing works....
Note... this T-Mobile sim and Verizon sim if I put it on a different device it will work...
any reason why this is happening

The phone is not unlocked. Seems like an error happened when you got the unlock code. I'd try again.
Did you use this device on the att network? I mean, do you have it activated?
If you unlocked it by codes and the message after inserting the code is something like "unlock successfull" then your device must accept other GSM SIM cards.
Also, I would recommend you place a 5 min call with your device, with the att sim card and then insert again the tmob card.
What is the message when you insert the tmobile card in this device?
I did the same thing by using a Tmobile SIM during the unlocking process, and it worked on TMobile right after I unlocked it. It sounded like you did not unlock it using a different network SIM but using some other method. I am not sure if that mattered or not.
I then traveled to Asia, and I bought and used a local SIM card with zero issues. The 4G LTE was faster in that country than AT&T... LOL
I have a unlocked T-Mobile OnePlus 7 pro which comes with a single SIM card tray. Where can I buy a dual SIM tray foe the phone?
I cannot confirm this… But I believe T-Mobile has a special build for the One +7 pro. I don’t believe it can manage 2 SIMs.
I'm on international Oxygen OS 9.5.6
It's dual sim. Flip it over. The two cards are stacked back to back

No. It's not like that. The other side does not hold a SIM card.

You could buy one from Amazon just search "OnePlus 7 pro sim tray" it's the second one that I order that gets here on the 7th. I'll let you know if it works or not.

I have two 7 pros one from OP and one from TMO, I've swapped sim trays and it does work, but the TMO Variant only has one imei, so if you use them both at the same time just be sure they are on different carriers (most people would be on different carriers anyways) but still be careful because if you were to roam on the other carrier it could have some repercussions.

The sim tray came in today, and I can confirm it does work :good:
How does it work? Two sims working the range time? Do you get 5g for the first SIM?
I bought a oneplus 7 pro from someone through offerup
i had an old samsung j7 that had dual sim functionality that i need for work and productivity so when it came time for an upgrade i bought the oneplus as it was advertised as a dual sim phone by the guy who sold it to me.
at the time of purchase, i just opened the settings and saw that it had two sim settings (sim 1 and sim2) and i naturally assumed that it was a dual sim phone.
i also plugged my att sim and figured that it is unlocked. i also did a factory reset and there was no branding for any carrier when i started the device.
therefore i just assumed that this is the unlocked dual sim version.
however, once i got home and tried to put the two sim cards in it and i quickly realized that the sim tray can only fit one sim.
when i called oneplus support about this, they said the phone is designed as single sim and that it was a tmobile phone and thats about all the info they gave me.
i went to tmobile store and they confirmed the phone is unlocked and paid off but they wouldnt help
me any further with the dual sim functionality.
upon quick google search i found a dual sim tray for the phone and ordered it. it is arriving today. I am thinking that all i have to do is just install the new dual sim tray and have dual sims working.
however now that I am looking at the settings more clearly i see that the imei for both sim slot settings are the same.
i checked the firmware on the phone and it seems that guy who sold it to me installed the nonbranded firmware but i am not sure if it is still the tmobile branded firmware. Does the Tmobile firmware startup with the Tmobile logo? how can i know i am running the latest international firmware ?
are the imei numbers the same because it is still on the tmobile firmware?
the build number it reads is 9.5.11.GM21AA
Also, if i pop the two tmobile sims in it, will the device be blacklisted simce they both will have the same imei?

You are running international firmware.
The software is strange and just like the 6T it reports only one IMEID.
If you put in two SIMS they will have different IMEID.
Look in the forums for threads on T-Mobile converted to dual sim.
Thank you for the quick reply. The dual sim trey will arrive today so I will try it and report back.
Thank you.

If he is running a T-Mobile op7 that has been converted to International then he only has one IMEI. That same IMEI can be used in both Sim slots but you were wanting to be careful if you're using the same provider for example and an mvno that is on T-Mobile and then a second Sim that is also on T-Mobile although T-Mobile is one of the few that is pretty relaxed about duplicates. If you're on something like AT&T you'll want to pay a lot more attention.
If you are using two completely different Networks then you should not have an issue.
I know this works because I am using a T-Mobile version that was converted to International myself with a dual SIM tray.
If when the phone boots up you see that T-Mobile logo then you were still on the T-Mobile software. On the international version you'll see a little Android droid logo at the bottom and a OnePlus logo.

Hi,
New around here...
Any idea on how to unlock a T-mobile locked One Plus 7 Pro?
T-Mobile says I don't qualify for unlocking as I'm the 3rd owner and not having a T-Mobile account and SIM.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I'm going to inEurope for a while and need to insert local SIM cards for better rates.
Many thanks
Cris
Hello, I hope someone here can help me, since I've already tried everything I know.
I bought a OnePlus 7 Pro 5g from ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/193541542389?ViewItem=&item=193541542389) because I checked on T-Mobiles website and it says it was carrier compatible I'm also aware that the 5g won't work on T-Mobile. The seller assures me the device is unlocked and when I go into System Updates, it says below UICC Unlock that the device is unlocked. But when I insert my T-Mobile sim card it won't connect to the network. These are the things I tried:
Inserted the T-Mobile sim card but it won't connect to the network.
Tried going into settings/SIM & Network/Network Operators and chose T-Mobile 4g but after a while it says the sim card can't register to the selected network.
Tried T-mobile customer support and they say I need to talk to Sprint.
Talked to Sprint customer support and they said I need a new sim card.
Went to T-Mobile and got a new sim card but still nothing.
Did a factory reset but still did not work.
Wiped data & cache but still not working.
Tried updating PRL, Profile and UICC Unlock under the System Updates Setting of the phone using WIFI internet and I got an error.
I don't know what else to try. I even contacted the seller and he assures me the phone is unlocked and that it should work without a problem. I'm in Puerto Rico and using T-Mobile but I can't get this to work no matter what. Can anyone provide some insight on this or does someone here has any experience using this model (GM1925) with T-Mobile?
*Edit*
Forgot to add. When I insert the SIM card and it tries to connect to the network, after a while I get a notification that's titled Phone Services and it says Phone not allowed for voice. Anyone know what that means?
Have you tried with Force LTE app on Android and selecting the correct mode for Tmobile?
Had a similar issue when using Visible phone on Tmobile. After using the App and selecting the correct Network Mode was able to get everything working

Well my problem was solved. According to an awesome telegram group I found and with the help of an awesome member called Chris Starling, we managed to get the phone working. Turns out that some Sprint phones being sold on ebay are semi-blacklisted and will not work with US carriers. The method to solve the problem involves tampering with the IMEI and I barely understood it, the member Chris basically did everything and got the phone working again. So this thread can be closed.
I suggest that no one buy phones from the same seller I got it from.
Hi Lpedraja2002,
If possible can you please elaborate on your solution? I am faced with this same issue, a locked Sprint SIM from an ebay scam. I am familiar with the concept of rooting and changing the IMEI using a root app, but would love to know some more details.
Cheers
Hi.
I also have the same issue. I got the gm1925 model as present. I'm not living in USA but can't use the network in my country. I try 3 sim from several Carrier but it didn't work.
Can you please tell as how you did it.
There is a MSM tool tutorial for unlocking the bootloader on the locked 5G variant. Normally blowing away the software from recovery would work but if Sprint locked the SIM via the IMEI number than it should be possible to unlock the SIM by changing the IMEI. I will be trying this soon using a IMEI changer root app, or maybe using ADB or something. Will update next week.
Edit: can confirm it is impossible to unlock the sim, even by changing the IMEI. One has to get in contact with Sprint.
Following up on this as I recently purchased a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and am now stuck with it. Wish I read this thread earlier. Can you pass along your contact Chris Starling if he would be able to help?
If it's who I'm thinking of I may know the guy.

If you guys could please edit your posts to not include first and last names that would be wonderful.
Usernames exist for a reason.
Pm if you need help with a semi-blacklisted device, and also don't discuss IMEI flashing on XDA it's against the rules.
i need a help on sim unlock oneplus 7 pro (Sprint) and oneplus 8 (tmobile or Sprint)
I have a Sprint GM 1925 that is debranded and sim unlocked. Both Verizon and T-Mobile confirm it is unlocked but it shows as not compatible and can't be activated by either carrier. I also get a notification that's titled Phone Services and it says Phone not allowed for voice when inserting a T-Mobil SIM. So any help guys?
To everyone here I might have a possible solution.
I was looking for the answer here and didn't found it, so contacted sprint by chat by this link https://www.sprint.com/en/legal/unlocking-your-sprint-device.html talked through chat and waited for 30 minutes. Then I looked for system/updates and then click the UICC unlock it search out for updates and then unlocked the phone. My phone is a one plus 7 pro gm1925. Just hope this could help someone out here.
Hi all,
Amazon and many online retailers are selling this model GM1925. Please advise whether it’s worth to buy. My friend bought this and using via T-Mobile network with 4g however it’s not working with Xfinity Mobile network sim.

I need help with my sprint locked OP 7 pro GM1925. Can you please help?
Just picked up a Tmobile 8T+5G, haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I was planning on having it unlocked ASAP, and reflash with the global firmware to access the dual SIM ability.
I currently run a Pixel 3A, with my personal line on Sprint, and my employer's line on Verizon using a SIM card from the company iPhone XR. After unlocking/reflashing/adding dual SIM tray, will I be able to run the Verizon SIM in the phone for voice/SMS service only, while keeping my Sprint SIM in the other SIM slot? I don't care about 5G working on Verizon, as I know there's a different 8T to support Verizon's 5G anyways, and really don't even need data at all on it.
EDIT: Just found Verizon's BYOD IMEI checker, and it does says this 8T is compatible based on the Tmo IMEI number, but I've seen cases in the past where the check tool says yes, but people still are unable to get things to work correctly. Also, in my case, I'd still be using an old SIM that I can't easily change out for a new one.
