I've had a read through other threads and got no solutions. Not rooted and I don't understand it enough to try.
1) Removing the Korean clock from the lockscreen. Quickshortcutmaker doesn't have permissions to create the roaming clock shortcut, and I can't give it permissions through normal settings.
2) Custom lockscreen. I wanted to customise the lockscreen with KLKC but it doesn't override the default lockscreen. I've read something about needing certain roms, but nothing specific to this phone.
3) every time I turn data on/off there's an annoying popup - how can I remove this?
4) is it possible to customise the onscreen buttons (the triangle, square, circle) without root?
5) is it possible to remove the DnD notification? I managed to remove it from the lockscreen but it's still there if I drop down the bar.

Sorry I do not know about the lockscreen, but I think some apps can possibly do it with the write SECURE SETTINGS provided by adb permission. They need to be specifically made to work with that though. Is the pop-up for data "activating your device"?
After try many way to remove dual clock on lock screen on V50 running android Q, I got no success.
So i flash back android P to remove dual clock, and succeed
Quickshortcutmaker Permissions
Did you ever get a solution to your problems that you posted about in January? I recently purchased the V50, and installed Android 10 right away. Then I learned that I needed to have Android 9 in order to remove the dual (Korean) clock. I successfully reverted to Android 9, and then installed quickshortcutmaker. But when I get to the roaming clock settings and click "Try" I get this message: "Sorry. You cannot launch this activity from this app because it requires some additional permissions to launch." How do I get those permissions, so that I can disable the dual clock?
If I understand your posting correctly, it sounds like this might be the same problem you were having. Have you found a solution? I really want to get the dual clock removed, and then reinstall Android 10 to begin using the phone. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you very much.

As far as I know you need Android 8 to do it. I've kept mine on as I no longer pay attention to it. If there's a way of getting KLCK to work I'll look into that but as it stands I just ignore the second clock.

I reverted to V500N11m version and quickshortcut maker worked without asking permission, you might have reverted to newer version than *11m , try this "m" version again to see if it works :fingers-crossed:
Finally worked!
Thanks for your reply. Actually, just prior to getting your reply, I tried installing an earlier version of Android 9, instead of the most recent, and it worked! I'm so glad to have gotten rid of the dual clock.

So I have successfully upgraded OTA to 6.0.1 and rooted.
I'd like a relatively easy way to turn hot spot on and off without having to go through at least three clicks (and that's if I put the Settings icon on the home screen; otherwise it's four).
The old tried-and-true method of editing the Settings DB with SQLite no longer works. I thought I'd just give the new System UI Tuner a try, but it would appear that Sprint/Samsung have locked this out. The two known methods to enable it (long press on the gear icon after pulling down the window shade, or going to Developer Options under settings) are not available on the Sprint S5. I can see the System UI Tuner package intact on the phone, but there's no way, as far as I can tell, to launch it.
For that matter, Sprint seems to have removed all the Settings widgets except "Flashlight," so you can't even put a setting widget on the home screen to get you close.
If anyone has figured out how to get into the UI Tuner, or restore the locked Settings widgets, please let me know.
Before anyone suggests it, yes, I am aware that there is a root app to enable/disable the hot spot on the market, and I have the APK for it. I removed it because it runs continuously, even when not using the hot spot, generating "granted root access" popups at inopportune times. Besides, I'd kinda like to see what else is in the UI Tuner to tweak.
Thanks.

Sprint S5 stock rooted

I have yet to find the Vulcan grip to open ui tuner.. does your version have a mobile data toggle?

No, I have to go to settings/more networks. That's another tile I would add to quick launch if I could only modify it at all....

None of my notifications do the normal heads up display on this phone even for the apps that have all options turned on under notifications. The icon just shows in the top bar. How do I fix
You have to enable Banner for the notifications on which you want heads up like notifications. To do this follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Notification panel & status bar
Open Notification centre/manager
Select your app from the list.
Enable Banners for the app you selected.
ENJOY!!
I hope this helps you.
It is like previous Huawei devices with notifications working only for a few selected apps (FB,Twitter,Whatsapp) or they finally fixed the problem and now everyone gets up even without the app being in the background?

add those apps in the protected apps section under battery manager in settings
Then is confirmed how is like other older huawei devices and the app don't get a notification if isn't open in the background even with all permission given?
Notifications are working perfect in every Huawei. Just set them right.
Did you tried protecting the apps?
I've done every step to make apps notifications work, they only work if opened in the background all the time, for some motive apps like twitter or facebook are in a white list who make them enabled to get notifications even when closed but games or unknown apps aren't in it.
I never got a notification from a minor app when it was closed, in 2 years I sue my Honor 8.
Now I discovered is because Huawei put some bull**** battery managment program in the phone who totally kills everything but their apps and some of the most famous and never fixed it.
I was hoping for the most recent devices to have a fix, Emui 5 or something but seems like they haven't changed their policy.
Go in Settings/app/advanced/ignore battery optimisation and add your apps.
Come on guys.
I wrote that I've done every step, notifications simply don't work.

Try manually updating your device by following below steps, your data will get lost so take a backup before.
Download latest firmware of your device.
Extract zip file and put the UPDATE.APP in the root of your external sdcard.
Press all the three hardware keys (Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button) simultaneously.
The update process will start.
You'll have your device like out of the box.
I hope this helps you.

My device (Honor 6) is updated to the latest version, I already done a clean restore, nothing changed, only popular apps get notifications, games, minor apps or not from the play store never get notifications. Every setting for getting them is on.

I think Honor is doing some tweaks to clean the background apps so that more RAM stays free, and the battery life gets longer.
If you were on Honor 7 I would have suggested DigiKernel v1.1 as I didn't have any issues of notification after flashing it.
I haven't touched the OS, no root, flash or mods, is clean...and doesn't work, I've heard of how Emui 5 should fix this bug but my device is out the list of the receivers.

I just signed up to say thank you for the solution. :victory:
This option is never mentioned on forums when people asking for solution to notification errors.
"Protecting apps" and " Notification centre/manager" did not help, when the appliction is not checked on the list you say.

Hey guys
I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could help me! I have just downloaded and followed the instructions to install and use Substratum & Andromeda for my S8 plus.
I followed all of the steps up to getting myself a theme. Once the theme was installed my screen went black. I wasn't too bothered at first but now my phone is unusable! The only thing I am able to access is the camera by double tapping the lock button. The phone still vibrates if I get a call etc but I can't unlock it.
I get a message that pops up over and over again saying 'System UI has stopped' And the only option is to 'Close app'
I'm not gonna lie guys, I'm an absolute noob when it comes to this stuff. Is my phone gone forever or can I fix this?!
Cheers!
Perhaps some help?

Need some more information to help identify what you have installed last, or more specifically the offending overlay perhaps that does not agree with the "SYS UI"??? Next will be to ask if you understand or have any knowledge working with "ADB" as this will be needed to remove the offending "APP" installed you installed? Having asked this and having been in your shoes, I will tell you that if you have not ever given permission on a connected computer for "ADB" to have access to this phone you have put yourself in a place that a FACTORY RESET is going to be your best solution. I have found other ways to get into my phone using Bixby, as it can uninstall APPS but you would need to again know specifically the name of the offending APP.
My final thought/suggestion would be to spare yourself any further headache and just commit to the FRESET and then Google/Learn your way into an understanding with ADB - it can save you a ton of time while you learn about moding your phone:good:
Have to say overall using the OP6 Oxygen OS is like stepping back in time. Standard things you think would be available aren't. The settings are a mess and all over the place as if they just kept putting things anywhere as they added them piecemeal.
I'm trying to add a new dialer as the "stock" one is total crap and have tried numerous ones. It looks like it's almost a first edition of Contacts + , where they grabbed the code and dumbed it down.
Trying to use the Asus Contacts Dialer, it doesn't give a popup when clicking on either Sim button when placing a call as it does see the dual sim. However when I go into the settings, many things are missing in regards to settings. When I click on call settings I get this error message that displays on the screen:
" No installed activity available to handle selected action"
What does this mean? I tried searching for it but got no answers. I'm thinking part of the problem is the way they've done the coding in relation to the call settings that it is not in the correct place so other dialers can't find it. Anyway to get this working so I can disable or uninstall or stock dialer? I really don't want to have to root this phone.
I'm trying to live with this phone for a bit, It's nice I have wifi calling and Volte but that is where the excitement ends. Well when the network actually stays connected and I'm not using airplane mode to reconnect or taking out the sims.

I had similar problem, this used to work.
May, other members help you out.
Agree the dialer is crap so I unlocked my phone just to put on magisk google dialer and contacts which is WAY better.
What the most likely problem is that the Asus Dialer app has some built in dependencies for zen. You would have to debug the apk. To find what they are and then find a way to add them to oos without jacking anything else up .
Waay above my skill set

I'll look into that thanks, to see if there is something else to add. Never had that issue when I added it to other devices though. But one never knows.
I'm still leaning towards the fact that their software is just a horrid mess because I've had problems with several other dialers as well.
Just upgraded to new OS. On the front screen, I used to tap & hold the recent app button which would split the screen with an App on top and the home screen below it. Used this feature multiple times a day. Now it doesn't work or I'm forgetting which option I need to enable to make it work... any ideas/ suggestions? I'll roll back if it isn't an option any more. I can still open 2 apps (although they changed the way that works now too and it takes too many steps), but that's not what I'm referring to. I want to access the home screen in 1 of the 2 windows. Also, can't find how to change the layout of the recent apps list (previous version had multiple options: stacked, bubbles, tiles, etc). All help/ comments appreciated. Thank you
Did you upgraded to the new Android version? May I ask you if you still have Mobile hot spots/ Tethering active?
Yes I upgraded to the new android os. Mobile hotspotworks fine. I haven't tried tethering (via cable) bc I seldom use it that way
RE: my question, figured out this option was part of GoodLock MultiStar app and the option is no longer available after the new update. Many folks have commented about this being one of the PRIMARY uses of this app. I also sent an email, so we'll see if they bring it back or allow roll back to the previous version.

Great Thanks. I loaded the update but still don't see the Quick Launch Multi Window option which in my opinion is the whole problem w/ the new OS (MULTIPLE split screen related issues) and point of this app. If they could not get the split screen to work in this system update then they should NOT have rolled out the update OneUI3 is a total step backwards. I'm about ready to reset my phone to factory default & start all over or find the previous OS and undo the whole system update. In fact the notes now reference that quick launch is no longer an option. I'll be rolling back over the weekend
+1 Same. Despite the new Good Lock/MultiStar update, Split Screen still requires the crazy finger gymnastics. I hope they fix it soon.
Same. Task Changer would notify me the app was no longer compatible with my software update. I Uninstalled the module, reinstalled it to no avail. I actually deleted Good lock itself and reinstalled it only to find Task Changer was no longer available as a module Just a waiting game at the moment...
The release notes on MutiStar say no more quick launch as of OneUI 3 and based on all the other problems I'm having in split screen, it appears to me that the new OS really has a problem with it which is stupid since that was the BEST PART
I remember having this same issue with my N20U. I'm sure it's only a matter of time
