anybody know??
you could probably copy the HtcCarPanel.apk from the t-bolt to the evo.
Did you try Evo Forums?
You could just use google car home? Thats what I have... Even has settings to go in to car mode when it connects to a BT device you specify which is cool for me because my car stereo (Alpine) is BT and I use it to play music while in the car.

Just to let you know, it won't show up in the market on the phone, nor will it let you install from the market website from the pc. Can't figure out why (no reason for verizon to block it).
EDIT: I think its blocked because of HTC Sense, since searching it thru Wi-Fi through Airplane mode trick didn't help.
To the OP, I recommend what capflya said, Google's Car Home is a better app than the Sense app. You can download the apk and install it manually, following instructions on this website. Hope this helps.

I have the Car Panel apk in my ThunderBolt thread, I don't know if this will work on the EVO though since the frameworks are different and the car panel app might use the framework to run.
you can try it though, i have it here

I'm running Insertcoin ICS but can't seem to enable Car Mode. I've tried Car Mode Control and Tasker apps but no joy.
I have an app that can launch automatically when device enters car mode but I don't have a car dock so am trying to activate it via an app.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

No one to help?
You have to make sure the dock is on bt input. Then go in Settings/wireless/bluetooth to pair your device with the dock. Then in ur music app you should be able to send audio to bluetooth...

Facing BT connection problems
Hi,
I recently bought Samsung Galaxy Alpha and along came the Wireless Audio Doc DA F560. Ever since then I have been trying to connect the phone to the audio dock through bluetooth but my phone is just not recognizing the audio dock (DA F560) at all. I can connect my phone to other bluetooth devices (and to another wireless audio dock device from JBL as well). Also, when I try to play music from my phone on the "Docking" mode, I have the same issue. The music is only playing from the phone and not the audio dock. The only thing that seems to be working is the USB mode - I tried playing songs from my USB in the USB mode and it played well. The bluetooth and the docking mode don't seem to be working at all. Has anyone come across a similar issue? Does anyone have a fix for this, please?
thanks

Hi all.
I have an android car multimedia PX5. Me and my wife driving the car. Both of us use "Blueooth Auto Connect" app to auto connect to the car multimedia and Tasker app for auto Hotspot enable for the car to get internet access. The problem that if i was the last one to cennect, her phone doesnt auto conncect to the car and the other way around (i she was the last one to connect my phone doesnt auto connect to the bluetooth).
I keep my phone in my pocket and she carry it in a handbag so NFC tag inst good solutions for us. read a lot of forums and didn't find a way to do this.
What do i need to do if i want both or our phones to be able to auto connect to the car when we enter the car? (not both phones together, the one enter the car after the other drove it the last time)
Thanx.
So for Xmas I got a PA77ATTP xtrons android headunit and I've been really enjoying it so far but had a few questions I was hoping people could help me with please!
1) I have 30gb data on my phone and so have been using that as a hotspot for navigation etc. BUT I was hoping to use that to tether via Bluetooth so I don't have to enable this every time I get in the car and then switch off when I get out but for the life of me can't figure out how! I have the option enabled on my phone but can't get the headunit to use it?
2) software updates don't look like they can be applied over the air? Is this a manual process or are they just not getting updates?
3) Can I wirelessly mirror my phone screen like you can with a Chromecast somehow?
4) how do you enable split screen?
5) how can I change the steering wheel controls? They work well but the software looks like it has the option for them to be customised?
Here's a link to the one I bought:
