Android 10 kernel sources released by Xiaomi - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-a3-a2-android-10-kernel-sources-released-before-update/

Not released for a2 lite yet

It seems that Xiaomi will not update Android 10 for Mi A2 Lite, we will see tomorrow whether there will be a new kernel source for Mi A2 Lite

My dad's Samsung Galaxy M20 got android 10 today and that is not even Android One. F**k Xiaomi.

They kinda have to, because the phone's in AndroidOne program and these phones are promised 2 years of OS upgprades and 3 years of security updates. Those news are the same source as the one shared in this forum and it's all coming from 1 Xiaomi support dude. So take it with a grain of salt, the same support told us that Android 10 would be released in October for our phone lol.

Xiaomi support also told that we get Android 10 at the end of December. IDK why ppl can't stop with these fake news. Just use custom ROMs untill they release Android 10. Eventually they will have to sort it out or they break their deal with Google and the consumers which will have it's consequences...

What you talking about? Look in the CM 13 thread. We only have to wait a few days to get CM 13 for S6. Official CM Team is now working on this:

Lol a few days? Nice like a few months if anything. I really don't think cm will ever be ported to the s6. S7 is almost out and most of the devices will have a snapdragon cpu so it will be alot easier to bring cm to it. I think most of the devs will move to the s7.

Do you know how much work they would have to do in order to even make it a daily rom?

Will there be an Android 8.0 update for the Lenovo P2?

Heard that there won't be an official 8.0 update.
So I wonder will there be a third party 8.X rom.
I think it is strongly believed that we won't get android O. I hope we get at least anothet update for 7.1 official
And for custom roms we have our own dev now so that depends upon him

Stock is stable enough already and Lenovo has more updates for this year and next year, this device is still new.
After that time whether it's before or after the end of life of this device via Lenovo... eventually the Dev will come around... Hakuna Matata/No Worries... :highfive:
I just really hope Lenovo release an update which enable Galileo since the phone supports it, it could be added in a custom ROM but that would likely be very hard to do without there being sources in the stock ROM.

And a news for information is that lenovo doesn't develop the update for our device its moto which create updates for our device. And for verify go to apps and search for device manager and and under that it show the name motorola mobility not the lenovo inc etc and for more clarification there is official news that lenovo stop the phone branding and other process and gave this operation to moto and lenovo will now focus more on laptops zuk branding and vr ar etc like things and also market strategies so moto now handles our device but all the forums will be on lenovo forum only but only for lenovo devices
---------- Post added at 06:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:33 PM ----------

I would be surprised by that. As Galileo use requires licensing and the P2 is considered a mid-tier or even now that the price dropped a budget phone. I doubt Lenovo would have bothered to pay licensing fee's to add to the total cost of "bill of materials".
But please proof me wrong.
Please point me to the official statement from Lenovo that the P2 supports Galileo. OR Some fundamental technical proof of a whitepaper that the chip which is inbuild in the P2 actually supports Galileo.

Thanks for the findings.
So in short. For us to get Galileo (GNSS) we would require Lenovo to include GPS blobs which include GNSS support in any of the future updates.
Until then. No Support for Galileo on the Lenovo P2.

Sm-j327p and sm-j327r7

SamMobile has Android 8.1.0 listed for J327R7 but I can't find any info on if it is the same device as J327P (Boost/Sprint) apart from this store (scroll down and go to tech specs) but idk if it's any reliable. It says the same specs as boost (sd425 + all other specs). Someone please confirm or check if this rom will work on the J327P because I'm really getting tired of 6.0.
The J327(P/T/T1) model was supposed to get Android Oreo on September 2018, since it even got certified in the Wi-Fi Alliance with 8.0. Maybe it got cancel or delayed.
All of the J327(V/VPP/R7/R6/R4/U/W/A) version got updated to Android 8.0/8.1.0 to users.

Also don't flash the J327R7 firmware with J327P model it will brick your device.

R7 firmware wont flash on P devices unless you can change the PRODUCT NAME and only service centers have that capability.

Anyone working on development (DT and vendor)?

Is there anyone working on making device trees/common and extracting vendor?
The development is so slow, i did not expect this at all, the phone being from xiaomi and the snapdragon processor and all.
I know bootloader unlock is a issue but still....
I bought the phone in the very first sale, its been so many days but i haven't even migrated my data from old to new phone due to the fear of having to erase it all after flashing xiaomi.eu rom, which i am waiting for eagerly and have no clue for at all when it will be available (specifically for poco x2, not k30).

Without bootloader unlock you cannot do any development. For any development to start we need to test it on device which requires unlocked bootloader once this unlocking issue is sorted development will start on its own pace

Is this bootloader unlocking issue new? Because I used many redmi note series devices and they have a great development going on.
My question is that this issue started in New devices released by Xiaomi recently?

Mediapad M5 - 8.4" updated 25th April - 9.1.0.333

I received an update on my Mediapad M5 8.4"
SHT-W09 today (25th April 2020).
Software update;
9.1.0.333 (C432E3R1P2)
Android Security patch - 1 April 2020
Update size approx 164MB
It's good that the Mediapad M5 8.4" is still getting updates.
I'm hoping it'll get updated to EMUI 10 at some point later this year
The first devices are getting it at the moment. 2018 model phones are going through Beta at the moment, so I don't see any reason why 2018 tablet won't get it. Definitely has the specs for it, and still receiving updates.
I hope we will get Android 10 but it is hard without an official communication, emui 10.1 is on the corner too. All Treble certified devices must receive a support for 2 year of major OS updates and 3 year of patches, Google says so.
At least you get 9.0! I'm on US version still stuck on 8. I'm trying to see if I can rebrand mine so at least I can get on 9.
@massima I doubt we will get Android 10 on our devices ... I am already happy to get still monthly security updates.

My UK version was stuck on EMUI 8 and wouldn't find any updates on the device itself, until I connected it to my PC and ran the HiSense update software on the PC and it found 3 or 4 updates in a row.
Since updating to EMUI 9, my updates work on the device itself again, rather than having to find them through my PC first.

After Huawei stopped the ability to unlock bootloader people didn't really bother, unless you were lucky enough to have done it already while still on emui 9 and Huawei did not change the policy, no point in doing roms when there's hardly any users to install them

I can't be sure tbh, as far as I know, if you have a US device you can flash US firmwares, you'd probably have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash a European firmware, ad you're rebranding the device
Just got the May security update. 335
How could it be, that my EU version SHT-W09 stuck at 8.0, while others like you get 9.1 OTA?
Any more recent updates for the Media Pad M5 8.4 in the US? Is a great little tablet that I hate to give up on. There's still no small, comparable tablet available that I've found.
