What is GSI?
GSI stands for Generic System Image and will allow you to install an alternative ROM on your Galaxy A20?
No longer will we be restricted to the Samsung ROM.
These ones worked for me. If they don't work for you, go to the list of all GSIs. There are plenty to choose from. Select arm64 ab files.

3. Backup only 3 parts: boot, data & system (not system image) onto external SD or usb-otg. If something goes wrong you should be able to restore the phone using TWRP.
4. Also use SMS Backup and Restore so you don't lose your messages or calls.
5. Make sure your Ext SD card is Fat32. I've noticed that GSIs don't recognise ExFat.
Android 10 (Q)
1. Installation
1. Begin with stock ROM
2. Reboot into TWRP ( then mount product - system - vendor)

2. Installing GApps
Some GSIs come with GApps. If you're doesn't and you want to have GApps, then use this method.
a.-Resize system partition so you can install OpenGAPPS, go to wipe, advanced wipe, select system, select repair or change file system and select resize file system. If you get error 1 unmount and mount the system partition and try again
b. Install GApps
3. Fixing Navbar
As soon as you boot up. Run Magisk and install this module.

4. Android 10 Backup

So method 1 have you the same result as method 2
Can you backup with either method?
Method 1
For the SM-A205YN
Download the A205YN custom recovery from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...&postcount=169
No need to patch it. Just flash it with Flashify.
If this first method works for a different version, please let me know.
Method 2
For the SM-A205G,
Download the composite recovery from here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...&postcount=198
Install to ap slot using Odin.
I haven't tested this yet so be wary. I'm going to try it today.

4. reboot (this will take you to stock recovery)

Hi can anyone make an android 11 custom rom(Pixel experience/ evolution x/ havoc os) for this phone pls? Thank You.
Yes, you can:
go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/10-0-project-treble-for-xperia-xzs-2020-03-18.3976367/ then download the zip file and flash vendor.img and boot.img (steps provided in the zip).
then download any android 11 custom rom GSI having arm64 and AB or A/B NOT A only or B only and flash it with fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot flash system <GSI filename>.img
You will need to download and install adb and fastboot tools from google to get the above code working. Also have a bit of patience while first boot your custom ROM after flashing, I will take some time for it to boot up
I have tried:
- Pixel Experience Plus and non-Plus
- Corvus OS
- Havoc OS

How did Havoc OS work for you?
I am always afraid to flash something that doesn't say precisely that it is for the XZs. But I should mainly be concerned about the kernel, right? If the image is wrong it just won't boot? But the kernel can brick it. Is my assumption correct?
Thanks to everyone who help us illiterates out...
Cordially,
Martin Book
Just follow the guide in the xda thread link I gave, you can use and android 11 GSI ARM64 AB image and you will be fine as far as my testing goes...
Just flash the vendor.img, boot.img and after that find a GSI image with ARM64 AND AB(The file name might use some other code name for this so just make sure the one you download has AB partition).
Note: Android 12 won't work and also daily use is not recommended
My doogee n20 goes into a bootloop after any android custom rom, like i tried phh treble, pixel experience and my device softbricked every time, Android 10,11 doesnt matter still bootloops, i am trying to update my android version but the phone has a-only partitions which restricts me from android 12 right now, i can root and/or twrp but custom treble roms are a no-no. Any help please? NOTE: no i dont want to get softbrick fixed, i have a sp flash tool backup and it works, i need a way how to install hopefully android 11 or 12, android 10 is ok too.
Project Treble has nothing to do with Android's partion-layout, what may be a A-only one or A/B one - with the latter there are two virtual hard drives that each contain a copy of Android.
Project Treble means Android is parted: part #1 what contains the lower-level code created by silicon vendors, and part #2 what contains main Android operating system framework. So device manufacturers can update the OS code without having to rely on silicon vendors to refresh the lower-level code for every release.
Phh treble work perfectly on my Doogee N20 and by the way it is A/B not A only. And, but one thing I needed to install vendor.img the first time I installed a Gsi.
Try this
1. Download GSI for Arm64 A / B and extract then.
2. Download firmware stock here
Firmware doogee n20 by 4pda
3. After downloading the Stock firmware extract the vendor.img
4. restarted in TWRP, go to clear, select Dalvik / ART cache, system, data and cache, drag flash bar
5. Go back, go to install, find the folder where the GSI is, select install with system image, go back and find the folder where vendor.img is and select install with vendor image
6. Reboot system
Sorry for bad English.
