I found out that the pinch gesture does not work anymore and when I download the tweaker for Huawei app and try to activate it shows an error. "You can't have root access to change settings"
How can I fix it?

I think you need to enable the " draw over other apps" under app permissions in settings

Thanks for the response. But I can't find " draw over other apps" under app permission under settings. All I can find under the app permission is toggle for camera, phone, location, storage etc. I found "multi window mode" in the developers option and I enabled it but that didn't solve my problem either. Tried googling, but got no solution. Some said that "display floating window" has been dropped by google in android 6 due to security reasons. Is that true?
Edit: Thanks. Solved my problems. Many thanks.
Settings - notifications - manage notifications - select desired app and turn on floating window
There is a multi-window option under developer settings. Just saying. I know it is not the same as floating windows.

How to take a screenshot of a protected App?

basically i have a proprietary app on my phone, that when i try to take a screenshot of, it just gives me a black screenshot after capture. the only thing thats visible is the status bar on top. any way to disable those properties of the app or is there an app that bypasses that?
@konoplya You need to use xposed module for that you need to get your device rooted or without root also you can get xposed by installing a custom recovery

EMUI 8.0 caused Nova Launcher to not be able to launch certain apps

After updating my Mate 9 to EMUI 8.0 some system apps (like the flashlight one) stopped working in Nova, upon trying to open it I get a toast saying "the app is not installed" or "permission denied" but the app is fully functional if opened from Huawei stock launcher. The real problem is not for the flashlight but for the lockscreen widget, which is an activity of the flashlight app. I used to launch it both with Tasker and Nova gestures when I needed to lock the screen and now it's not possible anymore, it only gives back the "permission denied" message. Both Tasker and Nova have been granted all the permissions and also been set as system administrator. Is there a way to solve this or find a workaround to let me lock the screen via Tasker? Like sending a specific intent or something along that way

i checked now, same here. But im using flashlight toggle from notif. panel on everywhere.
First I thought...no way! I use the flashlight app all the time, but, from the notification panel thingy. But sure enough...from the app itself it won't work with Nova. (I'm USA 567, the beta 321 version of Oreo).
Might be another reason they are a bit SLOW to release it everywhere too
I'm also using the flashlight from the quick settings in the notification panel, what is bugging me is that the "lock screen" widget (and also the correspondant activity that could be called by tasker) is also not working and I was looking for a solution to that problem in particular
Hi I have the same problem with the screen lock, with mate 10 pro, have you found a solution?
When I tried to configure a gesture and use screen lock shortcut it says "App isn't installed", the only way to use it is from EMUI.
Honor 9 lite, I have same problem((
Screen off and torch are only available on stock launcher (it’s build inside!).
For me and my not rooted phone, the "screen off" app is verry helpful to solve this little problem.
As torch, i use the "dashLight" app. It’s only 232k big. unfortunately it isn’t available in playstore any longer. But searching for "com.spectrl.DashLight app" can help to find it

Making shortcut to hidden settings with "Shortcut Creator", getting permission denial

Making shortcut to hidden settings with "Shortcut Creator", getting permission denial
Hello all!
I have an LGM-V300L (LG V30 Korean variant) running stock Pie. I'm trying to remove a Korean clock on the lockscreen as shown in this pic.
I looked around and there's a hidden "Roaming clock settings" in the phone. To get to it some users recommended me use Shortcut Creator to get to it. I've tried it but I'm getting stuck with permission problem as shown in this pic. I've given the Shortcut Creator "Contacts" and "Storage Permission". Don't see any other permission I can give in the permission list.
In the Shortcut Creator there's a "Smart shortcut" toggle, I have it on, if I turn it off and try again, it gives a "App not installed" error.
Anyone have any idea how to get into this hidden setting?

New way to stop annoying MIUI Updater notifications

Open Security app
Click to Utilities tab
Scroll down then click to App lock
Enter password/pin/graph
Lock Updater app
Press settings icon on right top
Click to Hide notification content
Enable for Updater app
And that is it. You will no longer recieve notification. If there is nothing like step 8, then update your Security app via apkmirror, settings, or getapps
