Just got the Samsung Note 10+ 5G. Mistake? - Huawei Mate 30 Pro Questions & Answers

I decided to get the Note 10+ 5G because my carrier did me a great deal, so I didn't have to pay anything for it. Having used it for a few days now I'm not so sure it was the right decision.
Don't get me wrong, it's a beast and the display is fantastic, but the camera is very disappointing. Even compared to my Mate 20 Pro.
Anyone here have both who can chime in?

I have made a comparison in Amsterdam a couple of days ago.
It's very subjective, but I would go (and definitely will buy) for the huawei mate 30 pro 5G.

Never buy Samsung for photo. I had Galaxy S9+ - it's very similar camera to Note 10. It's completely disaster - there is no any details on photo. When You open photo on big monitor like 32" - You can only cry.

My Previous is note 10 plus been used for one month and half then change to mate 30 pro. Note 10 plus is good phone it has better screen better speaker and sd card slot but the size is a little bit too big for me and battery also I like Huawei UI than Samsung. Both phone are great! I was thinking a lot about change to mate 30 pro and I am not regret lol

Will you change your mate 9 for Oneplus 3t or for LG G6

Hi guys, I'm in a little dilemma right now, because I'm happy with the mate 9 but the lack I developing, and after 1 month of use I thought battery life is not as good as it's seems for a 4000 mha battery.
So I want to ask to the mate 9 owners, that also have tested or own an Oneplus 3t or the LG G6 or even the galaxy s8.if you will switch the mate 9 for one of this phones.
For the Oneplus 3t in my country I can get only a trait switching phone by phone.
For the lg g6 I've have to pay some extra 250 dollars plus the mate 9.
And for the galaxy s8 I'll have to pay a ridiculous extra amount of 500 dollars plus the mate 9. And thats the main reason, right now I'm not switching to the s8. It's absolutely insane to pay almost 500 dollar plus a 600 dollars mate 9.
So guys, do you think it's worth the price to pay extra money for the lg g6, or switch for the Oneplus 3t without paying extra money. Thanks for your responses. It will be greatly apreciated.

Thanks for your response. I'm agreed with you. But here in my country the mate 9 it's really underestimated and underrated, it's ridiculous but here the re sale prices of the OP3t and mate 9 are the same.
I came from a s7 edge and a Oneplus 3 and I miss the battery efficiency from the s7 edge, and the extra features and developer support from the Oneplus 3
I think I'll keep the mate 9 at least the Oneplus 5 come out.

Yes that's correct and I was not sure about the mate 9 till I decided to give it a try and it's awesome I don't care for 4K screen on the phone so for me it's all good especially battery life

mate 9 is on par with g6 and 3t, if not better. if you upgrade to s8 when i understand.
but if you are very into flashing 3rd party roms, then 3t maybe is a way to go.
i got mate 9 so i can have a stable android experience that don't require flashing all the time.
I've had same dilemma, but I think Mate 9 is the best option at the moment. I've had the 3T, but in terms of speed the difference is bearly noticeable, but the camera of 3T is a no-go, very bad focusing compared to the Mate. Only thing that I can consider it much better on 3T is headphones sound. The LG G6 doesn't seem to be much an upgrade, and it's slower than the Mate. The S8 too expensive for what it delivers and prone to accidents, even if Gorilla 5 , bla bla ...
For the moment there aren't too many options better than the mighty Mate, maybe second half of the year will bring us more.

Yes I think the same, switching to the s8 will be an upgrade, for the Oneplus 3t is like a downgrade and for the g6 I thing it's almost the same as Oneplus 3t but with the same lack of support as the mate 9, only plus I see in g6 is the screen. But not for paying an extra 250 dollars.
The Mate9 is a pretty good phone, even with its known problems. IMO there's not another phone out there at the moment that is significantly better and worth trading for.
But when the Note 8 comes out, that may change.
No only for mate 10
Or my mix 2 on note 8

Mate 9 is near perfect
I had
One plus 3t
Nexus 6p
Note 7
S7 edge
Zte z11
Mate 9 is better in performance and sound and cpu is amazing camera is great with manual
I was in your dilemma (before buying the Mate 9) after days of careful research which included watching countless comparisons (speed, spec, durability, camera, battery etc) of Mate 9 VS O+3T, s7e, ip7plus & others 9n YouTube, I went with mate 9 & I'm super happy anytime I remember I almost went for others most especially, O+3T.
I don't know why you're complaining about the battery cos I'm a heavy user and I always get about 30% charge left with 8+hrs SOT when I get home by midnight or 1am.
My only pain is not being able to install nethunter from official sources and I don't want to try a workaround for fear of bricking beyond repair.
I love this phone.
Wouldn't get the LG G6. It will be in the $300 range in no time. they do not hold their value.
Oneplus if modding community is important.
I personally would go for the 6p if you can find a good one but that's just me though. Until next round of phablets come out.
i wouldn't change it for any of the phones you mentioned maybe for note 8 but even when is out I will have to see it and tested it first in the store, my mate 9 has been working really nice even without fully integration with google (i have chinese version) battery life is great almost close to 24 hours under heavy use, regarding your problem I experienced some issues after the last fw upgrade and after doing the following it went back to normal:
1) wipe cache
2) apply any missing updates, restart and delete your google account
3)re-add google account, reapply permissions for phone access and notifications, deplete the battery (until phone dies on your hands)
4) charge and start using it, in my case after this all issues with google apps using a lot of battery and notifications and autosync not working was fixed.
hope this helps, good luck
Meh flashing roms gets old after a while. Mate 9/P10/P10 plus already offer a very nice experience out of the box. There isn't really any need for root on them.
I have come from Samsung series. Things I enjoy on Huawei Mate 9 are,
> Best Battery Life (I don't know why you are not getting good battery life)
> Large screen and better screen to body ratio
> Good customization options
> Smoother software experience
> Fast Charging (I never miss Samsung fast charging)
But Things I miss of Samsung Series are,
> Camera... Although Huawei Mate 9 has dual camera setup and offer many manual controls but due to f/2.2 in main camera i.e. 12 MP it does not gets much details in regular shots. As we use cell phone for capturing instant shots so Mate 9 is not a perfect camera phone. Like in Samsung flagships we just take the phone out of pocket and take far more better shots in auto mode. More importantly the low light photos are really noisy and poorly detailed.
I am not an engineer but instead of using 20 MP monochrome and 12 MP f/2.2 color sensor Huawei should have assembled mate 9 camera as
12 MP monochrome + 20 MP color sensor
or
20 MP monochrome + 12 MP f/1.7 color sensor....
Well no long details, in short I really don't enjoy the camera of Huawei Mate 9
> Capacitive navigation keys (it varies from person to person) but in my opinion on screen keys do take a noticeable part of your phone's screen
No way, the only candidates are Mate 10, Note 8 ou Mi Mix 2, none of them exist yet.
S8+ is a beautiful phone (S8 regular is just too small), but with so little edges all around, I think it is hard to operate it, also not a fan of these new taller screens (G6 and S8).
Mate 9 is very good all around (screen, performance, battery, camera, price), my only complaint (and not much of a one) is his weight. Just that.

coming from an s8

Fed up with Samsung .
Don't like the narrow display I like big phones I had the 6p previous to the s8.
Is it silly of me to sell the s8 and get a mate 9.
Any model I should look for I like customizing and I'm a UK user on three.
Is the camera on par with s8
What's stabilization like also
Thanks
get iporn X instead. Or LG V30 or wait for Mate 10.
I came from OnePlus 3 and was worried about limited customization, but found with pleasure that Huawei themes are pretty powerful and with Tasker and a bunch of application was able to set up the device as I want without even root.
That said, display, audio and camera of Mate 9 are definitely an improvement from OP3.
Wait for the mate 10. Oct 16th
Can't afford the mate 10 or iPhone x I have a guy offering straight swap for mate 9
I came from the Note 3 and love the Mate 9. Its hardware is great. The only downside for me with the Mate 9 and any phone that is not hugely popular is the lack (relatively speaking) of custom ROMs, tweaks, etc. However, since the bootloader is locked on the Samsung phones you dont have a lot of options anyway so by comparison the Mate 9 is very customizable. I have zero regrets with the Mate 9. In terms of waiting for the Mate 10, it is not clear to me that it will offer enough difference over the Mate 9. Frankly, if I could do it all over again, I would wait until close to the Mate 10 launch and pick up a Mate 9 at an ever lower cost than it is now.
thanks to be honest my s8 is the exynos version so its quite customisable apart from no lineage or aosp.
phone is far too narrow for my liking.
will be the owner of a mate 9 tomorrow anything i should look out for?
The camera on the S8 is better in low light. Also the video will be better, better OIS and the formats are YouTube friendly. The Mate 9 shoots in an advanced format that Google do not like...
I came from a note 4 and S7 edge. Still have my note 4 but this mate 9 is one of the best phones I've ever had. It's just a beast. Battery life, the flow of menus and the overall ROM for me is so good I've not customised. Love it. Also the feel is great, nice and square screen, fills firm and robust.
I agree. I came from Samsung to this phone and I love it and am glad 9 made the choice

If you can wait another month or so get the Mate 10, if not Mate 9 is still plenty IMO, the camera has tons of settings that could overwhelm an average consumer, however for me myself I'm a photographer so it won't be an issue, been happy with the overall performance of the camera, the phone alone is good enough for my needs, yeah I could've waited for the Mate 10 but I couldn't and the performance is great on this device.
Keep in mind the ROM development for this device lacks big time unlike the 6P, so if ROM development is a must, then look for something else honestly. But EMUI 5 has been serving me pretty well and I'm an avid flasher on here for years and this is the first device that I don't have to root or flash a ROM.
To answer your question, no it wouldn't be silly at least IMO, again wait for the Mate 10 if you have the patience if not get the Mate 9, you won't be disappointed with either
I have used many many phones coming from Motorola, HTC, Samsung, LG I was not very familiar with Huawei. I seen the Nexus 6p in person so the build and quality was definitely just like a Flagship phone. I sold my AT&T S7 which became super buggy and started taking forever to charge.
I got use to wireless charging and the nice cameras of Samsung phones but it was lacking. The screen on the Samsungs are very nice but their software SUCKS AT&T version[laggy]. I decided to get the Mate 9 and I have NO regrets. It comes preinstalled with very little bloatware, its unlocked for GSM carriers. I use it for AT&T and it works great I have 4g LTE. No dropped calls or anything. It has everything you would want in a large phone which is the same size as a IPhone 7 plus. The screen is very bright and sharp like you would expect [nexus 6/htc m8]. The phone comes with a 4,000mah battery which last literally all day and does not take very long to charge with supercharge. It does not quickcharge on Quickcharge brick adapters you'll need the stock oem charger/wire. The speakers are super loud and very treble heavy not too much on the bass. The screen response is good and the vibration and feedback works great. If you just want a phone that has good speakers, big battery, big screen, fast fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, quick UI, no BS 16:9 ratio get this phone. You can use this phone all day and not worry about charging it. Build quality is top notch also like Apple, HTC.
Got a mate 9 now very impressed at the moment now I just need to root it
Thank you everyone for being helpful.

So Huawei Mate 9 vs Samsung Note 8 ?

So has anyone ordered a Note 8 yet? I have Mate 9 (since Jan '17) and its awesome, but and it is a big BUT, that AMOLED display!! No doubt, that Samsung has some of the best displays in the business.
Everything in Mate 9 works as expected, the finger print reader is super fast, the battery life is amazing generally speaking. It charges fast, the UI is responsive. The camera is half decent. It just works.
I wanted to started a conversation around the idea, if it is worthwhile moving from Mate 9 to Note 8 ? Or perhaps wait for Mate 10?? Yeah lets throw that in too!

I wait for V30. Huawei Mate 10 with IP68 is my favorite too but I need Knock on and Mate 9 not have this function. Amoled not important for me. Photo quality, IPxy and knock on are more important for me.

I'm waiting for Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, those are the only two phones that are worth waiting, the S8 and Note 8 have nothing to offer.
I just switched from a Note 4 to the Mate 9 and love it. Yes there are some drawbacks but its nothing a little big of tweaking cant fix for me anyway. I looked at the price of the Note 8 and was like NOPE...Was on my 2nd Note 4 with the eMMC issue and didn't want to spend $1200 plus tax for the Note 8. Picked up the Mat e9 for $749 taxes in (Half price!)

I crave the AMOLED screens on the Samsungs. That would actually make my Mate 9 complete...
Came from the Note 4 to the Mate 9. Still have my Note running S8 ROM port. I have considered the Note 8 but, the battery life for one would be less than the Mate 9 which is absolutely stellar. The price is another issue. The wrap around screen is not for me on the Note 8. I like a firm solid phone, too. The note feels good but very delicate if dropped. I'm staying with my Mate 9. I went through a period of thinking maybe getting rid but nope, it's my right hand man. Probably the best phone I have ever owned. 128gb, 6gb Mate 9.

I though i was the same, but the Mate 9 screen is great as an IPS LCD, however if u still want AMOLED, Mate 10 pro is the version you want, shame it will be 1100$ if rumors are right.

There is no phone that serves as a true upgrade over Mate 9, in fact the Mate 9 is better than all flagship in terms of battery life and performance.
Someone tested the Note 8 on ppsspp emulator, playing Tekken DR and it worked poor as on my S7E, on mine Mate 9, it runs 60fps solid and Tekken 6 as well, that shows that Samsung is throttling the device on purpose via DVFS, another reason to stay away for me.

Totally agree the battery aspect, since no flagship of 2017 came anywhere near 4000mAH battery.
The accu is me to small, this is the main reason for me to buy huawei and no edge displays.

I'll wait for the Note 9.
The Mate 9 is too excellent to give up just yet.
Even the Matte 10 can wait for the 11
I went from Note Edge (the first one) to Huawei Mate 9. It took a little while to adjust plus I still miss the pen but I find that as time goes on I have really grown to like the Mate 9. Battery and speed and memory are top notch. There have been several good updates with camera improvements. I'm sure the Note 8 is a great phone but I really hate the idea of a 18.5 to 9 screen. It appears that the Mate 10 will now go to a 18:9 screen. I'd rather Huawei keep the same aspect ratio of Mate 9 and maybe slightly increase diagonal. Regardless, I'd rather wait to bump up to a Mate 10 than purchase a Note 8, especially if Huawei continues to improve camera.

I'll get the Mate 10 Pro probably, or Mate 10 if price will be really 1100$, nonetheless i know many people that stormed on the S8, and quickly got back to the Mate 9 never to look back.
Just today i played Angry Birds 2 and Tekken 6, so smooth, no performance issues, while both lagged, with Tekken 6 being unplayable on the Note8 and S8+.
If you have another last years flagship I'd say get the note 8 because it has the latest hardware. If you have the mate 9 now I wouldn't switch, this phone is just so great, amazing camera which really invites you to play with the settings in pro mode.
It has great battery life, I play alot of elder scrolls legends on this phone and it's allows me to play for hours and hours. My screen on times swing between 9 and 10 hours. Pretty impressive I would say.
I came from a nexus 6 so the Amoled vs lcd debate I can understand. I do prefer lcd tho.
OK, it doesn't have the true blacks and color saturation that Amoled has but it has great color reproduction and best if all, no navbar/statusbar burnins, hooray! This thing also gets very bright in daylight so it's very usable in direct sunlight.
I would say, swap this device only for the to be revealed mate 10.
Huawei is known for improving its phones year by year. The mate 9 was a good step up from the mate 8 as the mate 8 was from the mate 7. I'll be guessing it will be very speedy, have a great battery life and a great screen, Amoled or even lcd. The camera will be improved the most I think, this Leica coop has been working out great for Huawei and the camera's improve with every new phone. The p10 plus has a decent low light camera, guessing the mate 10 will be better in every aspect.
Time will tell, my next mate device will be a mate 11 tho, can't wait to be 1 year ahead of this one.
VALUE, that's what I'm after
Is it "better" I guess depends on what you want out of your device.
"Better" can be described as faster, more power, or simply a faux feeling
of "better".
Personally, I think most smartphones are OVER priced, for MY value.
That's why I don't buy a new phone when they are released. I "wait it out".
Typically, phones have a bug or two, be it software or hardware, when released.
I WAIT until a "new" version is announced and ready for release, then, start watching
for the price of last years new model. The Mate 9 was (USA) around 900 dollars when
released. I bought one this week, for $449.00
I find that if you buy the LAST of the so called new one, when another new one comes
out, I get a better value for my money. Granted, 99.9% of cell phone manufacturers
are late/never update their phone firmware. But, at least for the last 3 Huawei phones
I've owned (Mate 2,8,9) have been very stable with the firmware they ship with, so, for
my use, it doesn't matter. I don't play games, 3d anything, but, I do a TON of talking
(around 2,000 minutes per month), text, web (work), video, mp3's, streaming. I don't
turn it off at night, runs MONTHS between reboots, great life, so the version of firmware
doesn't bother me. But, I don't think the "higher end" phones, so to speak are a good
value, because when you look at build costs, of even the super high end devices of
around $300, but command over $1,000? That's nuts! Personally, I think it is because
the fashion designers/hipsters have taken over the industry. Now, what's the first thing
you hear when someone announces/displays a phone?
Oh! Look how slim, colorful & stylish it is! We hired bla bla bla fashion designer to design
the phone. (Um...how much "style" can you make out of a rectangular slab of plastic, glass &
metal??). Phones are overpowered, have way to many megapixels on the super tiny camera
sensor and on and on, to justify the price increase. As long as consumers continue to buy
into it, can't blame the manufacturers that are catering to it.
Me, I'm kind of like the old story of the two bulls on top of the hill, overlooking a heard of
cows below. The young bull asks the old bull, hey...how about we run down there and screw
some cows. The OLD bull says, son, why down we creep down there SLOWLY and screw em
all.
Sometimes slow is better, for me, especially when it comes to spending my hard earned money.
I had a mate 9 earlier in the year, got a note 8.
Note 8 has a great camera but i just do not like using it, it is absolutely not worth the price they are asking. Rather use my 7 plus or Xz Premium over it. XZp would be my DD if the camera didnt suck.
My p10 plus can barely hit 3 hours SOT so it sits on the desk, huge disappointment. Should have kept the mate 9.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite buy it

I wonder if anyone can help me, should Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite buy it. In Vietnam market, its selling price is very good.
Link in VietNames: https://didongviet.vn/samsung-galaxy-note-10-lite
why not get s10e? or wait for s20
I would have definitely went the Note 10 Lite if my current phone (Note 8) wasn't working so damn well for my needs. I think the 10 Lite offers the best combination of features for the price than any other phone today, especially to those who want a stylus. The 3.5mm headphone jack and a non-curved screen actually make it more attractive (to me) than the more expensive Note 10 models.
I'm wondering about this as well. I'm in the US on T-mobile and wondering how this will work. Someone did me a favor by dropping my Note FE and now I'm in the market for a replacement (screen was toasted due to the drop). Wondering how the 10 Lite will work as a daily driver here in the US.
Anyone have any thoughts based on their experiences? Especially @butchieboy - would you recommend it as a daily driver (and only phone)?
Thanks in advance.
Hello, well i am using this phone now for about 2 month's. I am very happy with the phone for my purpose of use. For the price you will get a lot off phone is my opinion. The screen is fantastic, large, great colors, good visible in light. It runs very smooth, no lags at all and in my country the updates comes fast. All the good UI features are present and working very well. I am not a gamer so i could not inform you about gaming performance, only simcity buildit i use and that is running without any lag. The camera is pretty well, very nice wide angle and good HDR quality. Night photography is possible in pro-mode and for what i have seen reasonably. And then the S-pen, that is the reason i bought this one and not the s10 lite. I love the S-Pen and the features. Easy to use and very handy.
The battery gives me more then one day of usage, about 35 hrs. And with the charger it is fully loaded in a hour. The sound with headset and bluetooth speakers is good. Connection also, haven't had problems. The fingerprint reader is not the best there is, in bright light it does not work all the time but face unlock is very fast and accurate.
Overall opinion with marks 1-5:
Display, 5
Multitasking, 4
Performance daily use, 4/5
Battery, 5 (more then one day on fair use)
Software, 4
Updates, 4/5
Design, 5 (personal)
Fingerprint, 3

Cheers!

Thanks for your frank and detailed review.
I have this phone and i can't agree more with you.
I think its an excellent phone, especially if you need a stylus.
I live in United States and use it on At&t and love it. Can't beat the price. Plus bootloader can be unlocked and very easy to root if you care about that.

I've decided the Note 10 Lite is the phone for me, after researching for a while. Don't play games, don't even need a decent camera, and it's the only decent(ish) phone in the UK currently that can be had for under £35 a month, everything else goes up way to much. Plus it should be a nice upgrade from my P20 Pro, even if it's not got flagship specs.
Currently waiting a week as I'm almost into the free upgrade period, and I'm not spending £50 to release early when I could just wait a week!

Gaming ain't bad bro. Just not high refresh rate and all that.
I am going to buy this phone should I go for it in 2020? I will be using this phone for at least 2 years but I have doubt on this phone's processor please reply
I'm also very happy with 10 lite...love it much more day by day
I've had mine a week now and it's brilliant really (for my use!)
It's now in a spigen case, so the plastic back really doesn't bother me. The whole UI is miles faster than my old P20 Pro, even with the supposed chip differences, that's not bothered me at all! Battery life is good, the screen is bright and sharp and I'm very glad I went for it!
I love the S-Pen. Don't use it all that much tbh, but for screen snips, selecting text and playing with the AR camera, it's fab! Certainly glad I have it than not. Had the first cause to use the screen-off note function the other day and it was brilliant.
There are a few drawbacks however:
The in-screen fingerprint sensor is trash. Like really bad, when I go to my P20 Pro it's instant compared to the Notw10Lite, and that's when the note actually recognises my fingerprint. It got worse when I fitted a screen protector, just refused to work at all so instead I just set a pattern and use face unlock, which works well.
The camera is wierd. It defaults to a mid-zoom which takes the clearer images. If I back it down to no zoom the images become slightly blurred, so I need to get used to that
Samsung software, this was always something I knew would be tricky, because I don't like it. Nova launcher prime went on within half an hour of unboxing it and now it's about as good as it will get. Open app notifications can't be swiped away without closing the app fully, some refuse to go at all and the samsung software spent a week throwing notifications at me to use it's stuff (I don't have a samsung account, don't want to use Bixby etc...)
It is nice though, and a very good compromise for a big screen with stylus phone without spending full fat note prices. Hopefully in time some lovely rom's will come out for it, although I use google pay 100% of the time so that could be a potential issue.
If you are interested in getting a Note 10 Lite. Why not just get the Note 9? As it is flagship device and has more features that the Note 10 Lite.

A good question is where to buy new note 9 in 2020...
I love the note10 lite, but it's too hot (not like sexy girl!). The Exynos 9810 heats up even under light load. And in games, like Pascals Wager, becomes an oven. Also note10 lite does not hold the cellular signal very well.
Otherwise it's a great middle-range smartphone, with a good camera and performance

You can easily find a brand new unit on eBay or any other reputable online retailer. You might be able to find one in a 3rd party high street retailer. I have the N960N (which is powered by the Exynos 9810) and it doesn't heat up that much, unless I have my Note 9 under heavy load
Okay so here is the deal. I currently own a Moto Maxx (xt1225), which is old and dying. I can't find a good offer on the older note models like 9 or 8. BUT i can grab a Note 10 lite for around 360 bucks. Is it worth it? For all i know this is pretty much a S9 with an S-Pen. My problem is that the XDA scene does not look promising and my experience with moto maxx was pretty bad cause it was nearly dead too. I had an galaxy S2 and it was awesome lot of development! But i don't wanna get stuck with another dead phone for 6 years again, any thoughts?

Question Maybe it's me..

But I bought a Pixel 7 Pro for my wife to use. Her Note 20 had a cracked camera. We didn't check to see how much it was to fix at the time it got cracked.
After using Galaxy Note's for a while, she hated the Pixel. I got her Note fixed and paid off the Pixel. I've played with it while at home, but after using a Note 10 for awhile, its much more heavier and just feels cumbersome compared to the Note 10.
I do like a lot of what the Pixel experience offers. And it makes me think, should I sell the Pro and look at the regular 7? The size is comparable to the Note 10. But the thing that gives me pause is the battery life on the 7.
Is that a valid question to have?
Just need some advice. Thanks.

Battery life is an issue. It's not anywhere near as good as I had hoped right now, but there was a time it was stellar and a time when it was as bad as it is now

That's the one thing that kills me about the phone. I'll say this, the Note 10 I'm using still gets around 5 hrs SOT. And it's a much older phone.

I mean the Note 10 doesn't have 5G so feel free to disable the 5G modem and compare at that point. ALL 5G devices can be woefully inefficient given the right/wrong conditions. There are plenty of us exceeding that 5 hour SoT point which would seem to suggest there is some variable affecting you that isn't affecting all of us. I'm sitting at 50% with 4h12m15s right now on my 7 Pro...
I'm considering giving my wife the Pixel 7 Pro and going back to the OnePlus 11 (when available) - only because I need to set a specific ringtone for each of the SIMs and out of the box the Pixel cannot do this without using a 3rd party application. She enjoys taking pictures and the Pixel 7 Pro has one of the best cameras and she would enjoy this compared to her older iPhone device.
I been getting good battery life out of my Pixel 7 pro. Given I don't use my phone to much at work. Besides calling, sending some quick emails responses when not on my laptop and playing music on my headphones . I usually end the day with about 50% charge. That is with Bluetooth on and Samsung health app also running all the time. Screen time is very similar to the other user. I have learned to love the device and got used to the size as I have had always bigger phones. My wife's pixel 7 also has been pretty good in both departments. My prior two phones (Xiaomi mi 11, OnePlus 7t ) would have also a very similar screentime and that was without 5g. I have to say live and work in an area that has solid 5g so for me it's been pretty solid too. The pixel experience is also pretty nice. Also you can set individual contacts ringtones on the pixel 7 pro and 7. When entering the contact on the right hand corner the three dot menu will give you the option to set individual ringtones for that contact . I don't use dual sim but perhaps you can manage like that .cheers
