I have searched the forums and could not find the appropriate category to post this in, hence posting in General.
I got an MXQ Pro 4K device, and upon hooking it up, i could see that a few applications could not be installed. Said it needed the latest version of Android. Going into settings, it shows me 7.1, but i am unable to install basic apps - they say i need 4.1 or higher.
That brings me to my next question, i think i have identified the chip as RW? (maybe i am wrong - i have been googling all day getting more confused). Could anyone tell me if there is a latest firmware or an Android update available for this device. I have absolutely NO idea where to start or how to begin looking for software etc.
I have attached the images of the motherboard and also a screenshot of the 'About device' on screen. Please help! Appreciate in advance.

I recently inherited a Sprint Touch Pro. I want to put a stable version of Android on there. (2.2 or 2.3 whichever is more stable).
I need info on how to root and remove winmo and how to flash Android. I tried searching but I'm coming up short on the initial process of removing winmo.
Any help would be appreciated.
To motivate you.. here's a picture of me using my Touch Pro. Please ignore the cord and the watermark.

Hi !
I've used, for a while now, the SMS application posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-stock-messaging-sliding-ui-extra-t2825144
This application proposes a very efficient way (to me) to display informations to the user, and I don't know how to find how to do the same in my own application.
I actually don't even know what to look for on Google, as Noticifation referes to something very different, display is too vague, same for pop up, and... I ran out of ideas. ^^'
It's this kind of display :

(no red arrow, I hope you will find what I'm talking about !)
Can anyone help me find how we do that, or if it is possible with an API ? I work with the lasted Android API, and this notification worked on my Nexus 5 since 5.0.
Kind regards !
EDIT: Found it. It's a Toast.

You're in the right place. Take some time to look around the MTCD sub forums, you'll find plenty of information to help you upgrade to later Android versions or modify your device

I have (and am in fact posting from) a Kobo Arc K107 E-Reader... I can't actually get past the setup bc it seems the servers are down for this e-reader (who could of guessed)... I am posting this because I found a exploit to get to settings with the low battery prompt. I was looking to see if I could get a android 5 custom ROM at least for this e-reader so I can make it useful, heres a few cpu-z screenshots
