From what I've read V4A is a 32 bits app and the drivers too, we have to wait until the app get updated to 64bits and then should work
Hey guys,
since i got my Oneplus 6, i couldnt get viper to work quite right. Most of the time its just shows "Processing: No" till i restart it and after like a hour or device switch it turns off.
I tried:
Copying the Audioeffects.conf from system/etc to vendor/etc
Using Magisk Audio Compability Module
Using Alternate Magisk V4A Module
Using a Magisk Rom with Build-In V4a (currently xXx 2.8)
Disabling Dirac and Services
but nothing worked

i had the same but then i tried to use the other viper release from magisk and it worked. there is this one called hifi and fx
Try exiting the viper app with the 3 dots top right hand corner. That is what worked for me

Sounds to me like you need to disable the battery optimizations for Viper. It's almost as if your phone is detecting High battery drain and shuts down the app

yeah thats what i thought too, i zried whitelisting it and installing it as system app (+ magisk module) but it didnt seem to work.
I removed the one from my rom and tried the magisk repo version again and somehow its working till now

I was unaware that you were using the magisk module. I could not get that one to work either

the normal one doesnt work with viper doewsnt it?
Try just exiting the viper app then reopening it. I had this problem before and it just randomly went away.

it only works for a few mins that way
I'm using the Android p beta and i don't have the problems with viper as i did with oxygen os 5. it's always processing for my headphones, either plugged in or Bluetooth. the only exception is sometimes after receiving a call while listening to music, after the call is over and my music resumes, viper is no longer processing. not every time though. i used the latest magisk and the viper module in the screenshot.
i also didn't make any changes to conf files, just installed through magisk download. rebooted, opened viper fx, gave it storage permissions and turned it on.
Had the same problem, but was able to resolve it by choosing the legacy (non-material) interface when installing the Magisk module. I still flashed the full module and selected the latest version, just not the material interface. It may have been something else, but I've updated my ROM (HavocOS) several times and even done a couple full fastboot stock resets and the issue is yet to resurface.

I've had this problem on an Samsung S7 Edge, S8 Plus, and now, a Oneplus 6.
Everything appears to look good on Driver Status, except "Processing:No" and it's audibly not on.
What's worked for me in this specific situation is replacing the configuration file "audio_effects.conf" in /system/vendor/etc with another configuration file that I found in another XDA thread. So here's the concrete steps:
1. Install the viper4android FX module from Magisk manager that has four devs (v1.7 as i write this) and reboot. I don't know if this method will work with other v4a modules. Note that Processing will work temporarily, but likely won't survive a reboot.
2. Download this file (files_for_v4a.zip) from here:

3. Unzip files_for_v4a.zip and make note where it extracted. (You'll need one of its contents, audio_effects.conf, later)
4. Using a file explorer with root capability, go to the following directory:
/system/vendor/etc
5. Copy the existing "audio_effects.conf" to another directory, for example /download, to use as a backup in case this goes badly
6. Copy the file "audio_effects.conf" that you unzipped earlier to /system/vendor/etc, overwriting the existing file.
7. Reboot and test v4a.

Note: The Pulse feature of a custom NavBar in custom ROMS based on LOS 15.1 will not work if you do the above.

Just seeing if I can help! And I did the same sequence of steps on OOS as well ... But I haven't run gravity box in awhile. Hope it works out for you.

I haven't messed with dirac at all, and v4a still works for me.
Some clarification, please:
Did you uninstall the v4a magisk module that came with xXx and reboot?
Then go to magisk manager and install v4a fx materialized1.7 and follow the rest of the steps outlined in my post?

yeah, its 1.7 from magisk repo, disabling dirac seems to help a bit but not everytime

And you replaced the audio_effects.conf file in /system/vendor/etc with the one from the downloaded zip?
(Sorry to belabor the point, but it's not clear to me you tried all that)
In the past I've always installed V4A on all of my phones but they also all had twrp.
Has anyone risked adding V4A to the stock rooted 8t yet?
The latest one 2.7.2.1 should support Android 11. You can find it on Magisk Module section.
Be sure it's NOT legacy of XHiFI, just the regular one from zackptg5.

I've read myself to exhaustion trying to understand how this all works with no luck. With articles on the web having no or vague instruction and authors using the terms Magisk and Magisk Manager interchangeably (this one is the worst) I'm totally confused. Additionally there is too much assumed knowledge in the instructions I find. Go do this, go install this with no links, no explanation of what I'm installing, how to install it, where the instruction and files live, how to use it or the actual effect upon install.
Here is my current state and my questions (please excuse the caps, they just express my frustration):
Pixel 4a
Android 11
Rooted with Magisk
Can't use banking apps
MagiskHide doesn't fix the problem
I read that using MagiskHide Props Config can fix my SafetyNet issues but the instructions are very extensive and I want to be sure of what I'm doing before I tackle it.
Does Magisk also live inside Magisk Manger? Do I need both?
Do I need Magisk Manager to load modules?

Why do these instructions tell me to "Make sure that the app in question is selected in the Hide list (Under MagiskHide in the Magisk app)." and there IS NO HIDE LIST! under MagiskHide in the Magisk app?!

"Most Magisk modules can be hidden by MagiskHide, but that depends on exactly what the module does. If you can't figure out what is triggering an app, try disabling all modules." THERE IS NO PLACE TO SELECT OR DISABLE MODULES IN MAGISK!
I am very, very technical and can can follow well written instructions but this android (and linux) stuff is new to me. I just want my Pixel 4a to have root and be able to use my Golden1 credit union software. I apologize for the drama but this task is becoming almost insurmountable.

Totally agree with you: all is based on slopiness of the authors.
Magisk is a software framework- it provides additional low level routines / replaces in parts Android's default system software - what hooks Android's boot and system files, thus you can extend Android's default system features by adding 3rd-party modules.
Magisk Manager is a pure Android app for managing Magisk.

Thank you very, very much. So do you need to have Magisk installed for Magisk Manager to work? If it's like maybe .Net framework then the answer would be "yes" but since I don't know this platform perhaps Magisk is "embedded" in Magisk Manger and you only need it to do all your work. Thanks again jwoegerbauer you filled in a major blank.
Magisk Manager is companion Android application for Magisk framework so it should be obvious that Magisk framework must be installed before.
I know what you mean. I just started trying to install an news magic today instead of lucky passer and I can't even get it installed and authorized because of the tar and the different things that wants to have me do. There's no instruction it's just supposed to be knowledge you're supposed to have. I think I'm just gonna delete it go back lucky.
Hello everyone, I just installed another rom for my redmi note 11 which is Project Elixir.
I have successfully installed magisk module viper4android .
BUT when it comes to driver installation it shows error "Error: No such file or directory" and the installation is stuck at 11%.
I have tried many ways like reinstalling but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to fix this error. Help me! I love listening to music so I really need this

V2.7.2.1 . And magisk just released a new update which is 26.1 so i updated it

It's because of the Magisk version, it also happened to me but I fixed it.
You must uninstall Magisk 26, if you don't know how, just rename "Uninstall.zip" the magisk that you flashed in your recovery, just after a previous version of Magisk is uninstalled, in my case I had Magisk 25 on my SD, with this you will not lose the modules that you had previously installed and you will be able to install Viper without problems.
This worked for me.

I tried your steps, but it doesn't work (version 69 from repo).
The problem is with the installation, not the sound processing.
So we can't do the step "And then open the app and turn off legacy and compatibility mode (if turned on)", because once we open the Viper4android app it tries to install the magisk module, and then it gets stuck.
