Fastboot not responding at all.

Firstly, the power button has gone faulty on my Nexus S and I am due to send it back to Samsung for repairs, so I want to get it back to factory image 4.0.4 IMM76D using the Google image and to relock the bootloader. However, when I reboot into fastboot all the keys stop working and I presume it has stopped responding and the only way to reboot is to do a battery pull. Just wondering if anyone has had this experience before and knows a solution.

By keys you mean volume and power right?
Does a computer recognize it with fastboot. Example . Fastboot devices / fastboot reboot etc?

Volume and power keys don't work while in fastboot and it isn't recognised by that. And when it powers on regularly it say No boot or recovery img. Nope, doesn't get recognised by PC and just says No devices found...

Did it work before in the same system?
Only other thing I could think of to try is download mode/Odin

It was working fine that day. I even flashed CWM on it after trying TWRP. But then suddenly the power button broke, and when I used the key combo to get into fastboot mode using the plug in to charger method it loaded fastboot and just wouldn't respond

Cant get phone to bootloader mode!

Cant get it to work to get bootloader mode as i have no rom on phone and can only get to fastboot mode, seems like on the internet i have to get to bootloader mode, why doesnt it work?

You use fastboot command from bootloader.

im not good at this, what do you mean?

When you boot the phone using vol down + power it boots to the bootloader ( a screen with some info about your device and a menu) this is where you enter fastboot commands or run .bat files.
Your phone should indicate whether or not you phone is connected via USB in the upper part of the screen.

You mean, you can't get into Recovery mode? Because Bootloader mode IS the "fastboot" mode..
You can go into Recovery mode, by turning the phone off, then holding the Power button & the Vol Down at the same time.
Then use the volume buttons to scroll to "Recovery" and press Power button to select.
If your Recovery is working as it should, it will take you there..
If not, you can reflash a stock Recovery or Custom Recovery..

Trouble with fastboot

Hi all.When i turn on my phone in fastboot mode,it only tries to reinstall the firmware update to b180 version. I have tried to solve the problem by deleting the dload folder but nothing changes and i am forced to reboot anytime. So i have no chance to unlock the bootloader and root my phone. Is there a way to fix such problem? Thanx in advance for the attention.

Then you are not in fastboot mode but in Recovery Mode.
In Fastboot mode B 180 is not installed but in recovery mode
In Fastboot mode, you can only unlock the bootloader and IMG Files flash
Boot your Mate 8 normal or can you Power off?

Unable to use fastboot

Hi !
I recently unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP on my device.
The problem is that when I try to load bootloader (adb reboot bootloader) my phone reboots in normal mode and I can't use fastboot.
Any idea to solve this problem ?

I need help i have an ulefone armor power 16 pro in the bootloop and i cannot it turn off or come to recovery mode or fastboot mode what shall i do ?

Try to press Vol up and Power on the same time when the phone vibre leave the power button, it should go in a menu where you can choose between revocery, fastboot and system.
If you go in recovery you can choose system off.
Did you flash somenthing before the boot loop?

@Harlock1978 i can't come in the recovery mode or the fastboot mode and i can't turn the phone off.

Even pressing long the the two button? I need to press for a long time but then it vibre and I can find this alternative menu, but I have windows 10

What has Windows OS version to do with your issue? All you need is to install on PC the Android USB Drivers matching your phone what are provided by phone's manufacturer.

I can't come in recovery mode and in fastboot mode and the phone is in the bootloop and i can't turn it off have you an idea what shall i do?

I came in the fastboot mode now how i can i via fastboot/cmd of the bootloop away ?
