Z4 camera won't focus after October 1 security update - Moto Z4 Questions & Answers

Anyone else noticing that their camera won't auto-focus on close-in objects after the latest (Oct 1) update, PPF29.105-75 ? I have an unlocked Z4 on US Retail channel.

I had some trouble getting it to focus on a Christmas ornament, thought maybe I was too close to it but it did seem odd

Camera interface not as it should be

hi guys,
i just purchased a dual sim sony Z5, model #E6683, its a chinese variant. everything is fine except for the camera interface, its not like how its suppoosed to be, there is no manual mode options or anything that sort which the Z5 should carry, if any of you can share the proper camera APK and guide me how to install it without rooting, that would be great help.
thanx a million

This is known. All Z5s and Z5 Duals are shipping currently with Camera 1.0 App. They have yet to update to their newest app (which they demo'd at the release). They expect it to roll out sometime in Nov 2015, if not with the android 6.0 marshmallow update.

EIS for Xiaomi Mi A1

Iv'e observed that we are struggling with stabalising our hands while video recording. I would love to see an update for EIS on Mi A1.
Many phones like Moto G5s has EIS.
Or quick question, is EIS something that can be achieved through an OTA update?
Obviously... since EIS is software base.
yeah it can be added with an ota update mate it shuldnt be difficult for them to add it and i think the demand for it will hopefully get it us in the next update, but i think the whole camera software could do with sorting to be honest but i still think its a really good phone

Android Pie OTA updates arrived for X4 Prime exclusive models (XT-1900-1)

Just got the OTA notification for my Amazon Prime X4 last night, seems its starting to roll out to other Prime owners, but there is a good a post on r/motoX4 regarding all the lack of features not included in the Prime Pie update. I was ready to go but with the first GCam apk I installed that is w0rking perfectly (at least for me) I am kinda hesitant to install the update. i just got my Moto x4 Prime when it went on sale this holiday season $179, and its been smooth and a joy with Oreo 8.1.0. Now I have been waiting to use this phone as my daily driver, but I am experimenting with some new and upcoming MVNOs (Unreal Mobile and Mint Mobile). If u wanna check out this guys pretty straight forward review and complaint list of Pie update for Prime models here

Pie update fixed gcam night sight view for me, now I can see on screen what I'm taking pictures of.

OnePlus Camera version

I just recently updated to 9.5.7 and definitely notice the effort OnePlus puts in to make our 7 Pros all we expect them to be. While poking around on APK Mirror, I noticed the OnePlus Camera apk is version 3.3.8 (dated 6/9/2019). The camera app installed with Oxygen OS Update 9.5.7 is 3.2.105. Does anyone know what the differences are or if this is even for our phone?
Hmmm
Wondering the same thing

Got the GCam 8.1 update via playstore a few weeks or so ago
Cinematic pan is present
I did get it via Play Store update as well.
I wish the update would have brought Night Sight Portrait mode, but I guess it's exclusive to the 5G Pixels, unfortunately.
I got it too weeks ago through playstore. Have been playing around with the CinematicPan. Its good. Im hoping, someone makes a better version of it for pixel devices with more controls and features like cameraPX.
