Hi, some french tosser has decided to flog my unlocker... sooo
I'm looking for someone in France who'd like to undercut this asshole by selling it cheaper... say we sell it a euro or 2 cheaper and I'll even split the money with you 50/50 (after fees too)

That is bull****. This seems to be happening more and more around here lately. Just a while back some prick was selling slithers cube ac's apps and a couple of more people's apps. This is getting out of hand. At this rate, people will stop developing apps for these phones and we will be left w/ the bloatware **** our providers decide to stick us with.
Oli, I live in the US but if you need anything from me, including flying to France to hunt this asshat down and remove their genitals, you let me know.

i dont know anything about french laws, but arent there any international laws that can do something? Im sure you can show proof of authorship...anything that can be done through that? though the genital removing is quite satisfactory.

I cant do much at all...but if somebody tells me there AOL/AIM screen names, i could most likely find out the passw0rd....and if its an AOL, it will have all there info attached to it.

Anyone know what the Verizon developer edition is even worth these days? Can't find any on swappa or eBay. Seems like this is the last unlocked Samsung phone that Verizon released. Before I sell mine, I just want to know what I could get for it.

I know it's a late reply but they seemed to be fetching around $250 USD when I was looking a month ago. I cannot remember the model now but on an actual developer phone under the battery the model number is different so make sure you put that full model number in the title of your listing on whatever site you use.

I just threw mine up on eBay with a best offer option since I really have no idea what it's worth. I'm gonna let it sit there until I get what I feel is a reasonable price.

Dude, we really need your device for development right now. Some devs are close to unlocking the bootloader. Use this thread to generate a dump. Then upload the files to a public place. Please! All we need is the tar file with aboot.mbn.

Makes perfect sense that while I'm trying to sell my device, I would render it worthless or decrease the value and make it equal to all the other Verizon S5 phones by unlocking their bootloaders...

That's entirely possible however, don't you think if they wanted to get the workaround they'd have it by now? A simple PM and perhaps a cost, although that has not been verified as of yet, would be a simple thing for a Google employee if they wanted it.

I didn't doubt your integrity I was just asking if this is a protection from devices that are lost or stolen or even spouses and miscreants that want to break into a device. And the question was is this legal or not?

No, I've heard the stories about buying one that was locked. The only thing is you now have become the judge, the jury and the executioner. If you are comfortable with taking someone's word for it on a PM then so be it. I really have only heard about those that bought it off a site or privately and couldn't get the Gmail password that locked it. If it's actually your account there are always ways of getting the password or resetting it. They will ask you questions that only you would know, ask for your last known password or some other things only the account holder would have.
Just curious, are you charging and if so, how much. Don't tell me if you don't want, it doesn't matter to me that much. I'd also like to know if Google can challenge someone doing this as illegal and bypassing licensing restrictions. I don't know but you might want to protect yourself just in case.
And.. what if someone is harmed by your breaking FRP? Would you be held liable for damages? Just some thoughts for you to ponder.
