Hey folks, so I'm running the AOKP JB milestone on my HOX and I've been noodling around with themes, finding that changes aren't coming through... In fact, when I first downloaded a theme, it somehow temporarily switched my wallpaper to the default Sense wallpaper (for which there was no image file of on my phone) Anyway I don't really get any changes besides statusbar color changes and toggle changes when I switch wallpapers... anyone have any idea why?
I'm running black and cyan (found in themes and apps section) and it works great and looks awesome. Some themes don't change much just look at what it is suppose to change. Try uber jelly in the market to see if your icons change. You are choosing a theme under settings> theme chooser right?
Also once installed and applied, reboot.
I have pacrom 4.4 kitkat on my N5 and I have always used the theme engine, and it worked flawlessly with jellybean. Ever since kitkat I've been trying to get rid of the white theme (can't stand it) and with the theme I used, it would alter the color of all my icons, my navbar buttons, and my keyboard to be the color of my theme. Now it won't change anything except a few colors here and there in certain apps. I noticed that there's check boxes for style, wallpapers, lockscreen, fonts, icons, ect. In the theme section. With the default, white holo theme, everything is checked. But with EVERY other theme I've downloaded, the only things I can check are style, and wallpapers. Everything else is greyed out. How do I enable the it so I can theme everything else?? It wont even let me un check these in the defaukt theme. This is extremely annoying.
Hey. I was trying out some themes on my Nexus 5x after Andromeda was released but am having trouble finding a dark stock theme that works across the system.
What I have tried:
-Piereligio's Themes - These work great on about everything but the quick tiles. I contacted the developer, but he says it's a problem with the phone.
-Sai's Oreo Black Theme - This one's quick tiles work, but notifications are white or grey.
-Swift - This one's quick tiles also don't work.
-Orange Kitten Pro - Just tried this one and it is working great so far as long as you are okay with orange accent. No problems with system icons or notifications.
I'm curious to see what others have tried and got to work.
Thanks!

Mono/art works well
Quick tiles work for me with Swift Black. You may want to check your settings.
I use Default Dark Theme
When i try to apply those themes i got this error?
Here is a copy paste...
The company wants to make it easy for Pixel users to find all of their possible customization options in one place. That place will be found in the Pixel Launcher where a "Styles & Wallpapers" shortcut will be located. Opening the shortcut will reveal a pair of tabs, one for wallpaper options and the other for theme options.
According to 9to5Google, the Pixel 4 will have four theming options compared to just one available for the Pixel 3. Users will be able to put together their own theme by tapping on the "Custom" button to create a font. The second step is to pick an icon design that will be used for quick settings and the status bar. There is only one design for the Pixel 3, but there will be up to three for the Pixel 4. Eight system accent colors options are expected to be available and after selecting one, the Pixel user chooses the shape of the icons for the app drawer. The last step is to name the theme. And the app will allow for customization of the lockscreen clock and other parts of the Android 10 operating system.
End copy paste...
What I get out of this is that the themes may be tied into the launcher which is too primitive for my use. With any luck we'll still be able to hook it with a custom activity or the information is not fully correct and it will be available in settings or some other location.
Its basically the options that are already available in the system settings or developer options but all in one app. Nothing huge.

Roger, the interesting part to me is the system wide fonts; specifically which ones and how many. I'm rooted so I can and do change them myself but they often have a missing font size or some other issue. It would be nice to get at least a small variety which just plain worked without any problems.
As an aside I don't really like any of the accent color options, I was hoping we'd see some more with the release but it's not looking like it.
Hi all,
I have a few themes in this thread with a few features shared. These include:
- Google Feed added to Home- Translucent volume bar (except for Full Black variants)- Circle and Square icons available in Icon Shapes- WiFi Icon changed (except for Vivid Google Feed)- Matching Icon Badges in Home Screen (except for Vivid Google Feed).
To summarize the themes available:
- Vivid Green: Applies the Velvet Green accent (both night and dark)- Vivid Teal: Applies a dark teal accent- Vivid Google Feed: Doesn't change the accent (so stays Blue for most users) but adds the features from the other themes.- Full Black varients: For both Vivid Green and Vivid Teal, there is a Full Black variant which sets OLED Black in a number of UI elements as well as YouTube.
Vivid Teal is my personal favorite (although Vivid Green looks great with Dark mode). In addition, for those NOT using the official Velvet UI update (but have installed the Accent Color change apk's), using the Vivid Green theme allows the perfect use of the Accent Colors menu since Green becomes the default accent.
NOTE: Since these themes are not uploaded to the Play Store, you will need to install using a File Manager (or app other than the default Downloads app). Thank Google for that . Also, if switching between a theme and it's Full Black variant, make sure to uninstall first or it may not work as intended.
Let me know if anyone has any issues and enjoy!

Edit: Added "Vivid Green (Full Black)". Pay attention to install instructions as it won't work if "Vivid Green" themes are "updated" between variations.Edit 2: Changed Youtube background to full black (when using the Full Black variant)Edit 3: Inadvertently activated Velvet switcher on some devices (which is buggy). FixedEdit 4: Changed Wi-Fi iconsEdit 5: Changed Vivid Google Feed to not change volume bar (use Vivid Volume Bar if desired) and also changed notification dots to match the regular blue accentEdit 6: Removed pop-up modification (applied to old volume bar) from Vivid Google Feed. If desired, install the regular version of Vivid Volume BarEdit 7: Added V2 variants. Provides the option for both Google Feed and Smart Bulletin in Home Settings. Have also included a V2 variant to disable Suggested Apps (bottom row of apps in the recents screen) for devices which don't have the option.
Thank you
After a suggestion on a new color, I've created another theme to add a darkish-teal accent. Features are the same as above (where applicable). Don't install both of the "Vivid Teal" themes at the same time but can be installed alongside the "Vivid Green" themes.
Edit: Mixed up some files, fixed the black notifications (on "Vivid Teal" only).Edit 2: Added the accent to the same apps as Vivid Green (Gallery, Music, QMemo and File Manager)Edit 3: Added a fully black background on Youtube (when using Full Black varient)Edit 4: Inadvertently activated Velvet switcher on some devices (which is buggy). FixedEdit 5: Changed Wi-Fi icons to a more ASOP style.

Wow, thanks again. I really liked the first one. Will try this out too. Thanks again.
I've updated the non-black versions of my themes (Vivid Google Feed, Vivid Green and Vivid Teal) to add a transparency effect to the volume bar. See the screenshots below.
Edit: Converted this to a standalone version (apply from Icon section of theme settings). I've also included a version which disables the "Adjust by App" option and makes the volume bar much shorter.
Edit 2: For Velvet UI users, I've also created a similar theme called "Vivid Volume Bar (Velvet UI Only)". This makes the volume bar background transparent, removes the gradient color and to change color depending on night mode. For non-Velvet UI users, this will have no effect and you should use the other theme.
Edit 3: "Vivid Volume Bar (Velvet UI Only)" updated to v2, uninstall old version first. Day mode colors adjusted to be more consistent depending on the background. Also added the night mode popup windows feature initially provided on "Vivid Monet Green" (available on the Play Store). In addition, there is now a navbar hide version if desired. Non-Velvet UI version is not being updated because I cannot test it anymore (my phone has the Velvet UI update and cannot be reverted) but let me know if anyone wants to try it.
Edit 4: "Vivid Volume Bar v3 (Velvet UI Only)" updated to v3. Changed the night mode icons to be white instead of dark grey which improves visibility. Was used in Vivid Monet Green for a while so finally adding into this add-on.
That's nice. I'll be able to keep an eye on game on-screen while adjusting volume now. Thanks for the improvement

Remove the old one and install corresponding new one. Once you press the volume key after applying new ones you can see the transparency in effect.
Vivid teal its great. Thanks.
Will you bring new colors? Dark + Orange could be great!
Bit of a small update on both Vivid Green and Vivid Teal themes:
- Changed Wi-Fi logos on both status bar and QS tile. Took a bit of work so not sure how many others I'll be changing. Let me know if there's any ideas on styles.
- Added colored app notification badges.
- Fixed the backgrounds of the icon selection in settings.
Since I've had a few recommendations on Orange themes, I'll make that my next one. In the meantime, there is the Orange accent from the updated Velvet settings apk which I think was posted on Reddit.

It's nice of you to further improve the ones you already posted. Using your green theme from the day you posted. Thank you for your time and effort.
Just applied the new ones. To me these look lot better than the old ones. Cheers
"Vivid Black Notifs" adds some of the features from my full black theme variants and is designed to be used alongside any theme. Apply from the "Icon" tab in the theming menu. There are two zip files and an app included:
- Vivid Black Notifs (No Navbar): Adds full black (or black with notification dividers) notifications and hides the light white pill on AOD.
- Vivid Black Notifs (Navbar): Same as above but also hides the navigation bar.
- Vivid Black Notifs (Navbar Only): The "Nav Hider Only" version will just hide the navbar (useful for full gesture navigation) while "Nav Shrink Only" will revert the navigation bar handle to the pre-Velvet UI update size. Won't do anything otherwise.
These are variations of the same app so make sure to uninstall it before installing another or it may not apply properly.
On a sidenote, I've also been working on an Android Studio template for UX9 themes. It's still pretty daunting for beginners but should help heaps in getting started. I'm still finetuning it but would that be something you'd be interested in? Let me know
Edit 1: I've updated the themes to also adjust YouTube's background to be OLED black (same as the Full Black varients of Vivid Green and Teal). Also added in a preview picture. These are the V3 versions.
Edit 2: The updated V4 versions now have the popup window color follow night mode. This feature was first added into my theme "Vivid Monet Green".

Been a while but here's some other theme stuff I've been working on. I've already shared this on other platforms but posting here as well.
Firstly, for anyone not on the Velvet UI update, I've ported the accents to standalone "Icon" packs. They act the same as themes but can be used alongside them so that you can use with any theme you like (like the Green accent). Apply using the "Icon" tab in the theming options, revert by re-applying any regular theme. In this zip is the colors in the accent menu available in the updated Settings (Green, Violet, Orange and Pink). You can install the Velvet Settings app to gain access to this accent menu but this is an alternative.
Similar to above, I've also ported my Full Black themes to standalone "Icon" packs (like the accents). There are two zip files and an app included:
- Vivid Black Notifs (With AOD): Adds full black (or black with notification dividers) notifications and hides the light white pill on AOD.
- Vivid Black Notifs (With AOD & Nav) V2: Same as above but also hides the navigation bar.
- Vivid Black Notifs (Hide Navbar Only): Only hides the Navbar (no change in notification color).
These are variations of the same app so make sure to uninstall it before installing another or it may not apply properly.

Hey, thanks for providing us with more options. I very much enjoyed your previous ports. I hope you are having fun making these, which will make it worthwhile. I don't know about Android Studio template, but definitely looking forward to it.

Also, last file is posted as an apk, and not a zip unlike the other 3, in case it was unintentional. Just pointing out, not a problem at all by any means. Cheers

Glad your enjoying them. It's a bit of fun figuring out how LG does stuff and always nice to customize the UI to something interesting

Thanks for pointing that out but it was intentional. I left it like that since it doesn't really fit in with the other ones. Thanks for the help though

At least someone is able to figure out how LG does stuff. I got no clue. Yeah, customization is fun thanks again, and have a good day.

I really like the 'Hide navbar only' option. Very cool, thanks
I'm on LG G8 Android 10 update with the new volume bar, is it just me or the Vivid Black Notifs (with the hide navbar option) if I use full gesture, there will be invisible navbar that blocks some of the button at the bottom of the screen

Do you encounter that issue in certain apps? On my G7, I can't seem to replicate any touch issues in the navbar area when hiding it.
