Hi,
I just noticed something on WhatsApp. When I play a video on YouTube (I use dark mode on YouTube). And than click on a WhatsApp notification to go to the chat my WhastApp is appearing in dark mode without turning it on. When I go back to all the chats and go back to the chat I was on it dissappear.
So is WhatsApp testing dark mode without knowing? I'm a WhatsApp beta tester and no I don't have any toggle to turn it on or off.

I get a blue led for sms.
No led for emails with kaiten mail. Then tried gmail and still nothing.
Will try stock next.
Double checked that it's not blocked in app notifications (it wouldn't be by default and I didn't touch it).
This is on regular Sound mode and Blocking mode is Off. The new Silent mode in LP still disables LED and Alarms as far as I can see.
Edit:
Turning on Gmail sync in Accounts and using the Gmail app gives blue led notifications.
Email used to be white on S5 with blue for sms and had settings I believe..
Now it's just on or off. No control.
Does everyone just use Gmail?
Surprised there hasn't been a thread about this.
i Just bought J7 Prime and found a problem with Facebook Messenger.. the chat head doesn't appear also it doesn't show any kind of notification, Note that i'm enabling the notification from him and pop-up access and still doesn't work, i really need help!
Messenger Settings
Turn on chat heads settings within messenger.
Open Messenger app and go to settings and there Chat head is turned off by default then turn it on.

working solution for whatsapp.
if your phone is rooted>>> just make whatsapp system app with titanium backup or lucky patcher etc...

if your phone is not rooted>
then you just make the first widget of whatsapp 4x2 message in any page...
this whatsapp widget automatically makes whatsapp chek the status of the messages...
no problem when you put the phone ultra save mode button...when you turn off ultra save mode whatss app notifications start to work normally without entering whatsapp app...
this is my solution for whatsapp notification problem..:good:

thanks bye
My phone is now updated to One UI 2, Android 10. I was expecting this to result in eg gmail app being in dark mode, but it is not. I've checked for the themes option in Gmail settings but it doesn't exist.
I also tried force Dark mode in dev options but this did not sort it. Also this did not seem to force whatsapp into a dark mode.
Have you tried a complete system cache clean up from recovery?
It is worth trying.

Tried this. Now have Gmail in dark mode (as set in display settings) Thanks for the tip [emoji1531]
WhatsApp still not in dark mode when force dark mode is enabled.
Most of my apps went dark except for Google one. Even my bank app did which i thought wouldn't because of the security factors.
But its not perfect Facebook and Mesenger seem to go dark but you get inverted colours on most of it, if i want to use them i have to turn off force dark mode.
I would like Google to bring back Dark cards for Google Feed and assistant.
Use #hex if you want to customize Some backgrounds like gmail, maps, Assistant ect.
When I turn on dark mode for Snapchat from my settings, the screen remains white in Snapchat and also the text becomes invisible. I desperately want to use dark mode but it's not available. Please help. I tried third party apps, but it's of no use.
