Because it makes it feel slower than on Android 10. On Android 9, there was no Animation when you turn on the screen and unlocking with fingerprint.
Interested as well, really dislike the animation
So turn off the animation?

I am facing a display issue with the new Nexus 5 that was delivered to me yesterday. Everytime I press the power button to lock the screen, the screen flickers and switches off with an animation, similar to the 'Old TV Style' animation. Is this expected behaviour with all Nexus 5 phones, or some problem with the unit that is delivered to me?
If it is expected behaviour, is there a way to change the lock animation to something else (other than rooting)? I tried disabling the animation options in the Developer options, but it does not help. I also tried installing the 'Screen Off and Lock' app from the Playstore, which allows you to change the lock animation. However, the new animation that I select does not override the 'Old TV Style' animation. The 'Screen Off and Lock' animation displays first, followed by the default 'Old TV Style' animation.
Please help.
its normal and not changeable without root and/or a custom rom
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app

Do you know of any app that will override this default animation? It is quite irritating....
I have been trying to figure out how to disable animations. The windows flying around were cute for awhile but are getting old fast. Just to be clear, I mean window animations, not the boot animation.

There should be animation settings in developer settings, change them to 0x.
If you can't see developer options in your settings, go to settings->about phone and tap on build number 7 times and it will now appear at the bottom of your settings menu.
Thanks
Thanks for the fast replies. I feel pretty dumb because I remember showing others where to find that setting but I blanked. All fixed now!
Glad I'm not the only one who likes to turn them off aha
Hi Guys,
I have been trying to to add some widgets to the lock screen but cannot see the option do so. The main idea is to display the alarm along with the native clock icon and see the calendar events without having to unlock the device. I treid next lock screen but the behavior seemed a bit weird and I would like widgets on the stock lock screen itself. Is there a way to do so?
Thanks in advance.
Nope, no way to do that unfortunately. I don't think lock screen widgets have been a feature since 4.2

do u know of any 3rd party locker that would work perfectly with the fingerprint unlock and replace the stock locker?
I'd really like to be able to keep my lock screen on at all times or be able to put a nice looking wallpaper on my AOD screen. All I've found are some black wallpapers with a few small pictures for the AOD screen. Does anyone know how to change this or if there's a way to keep the lock screen on without using the AOD feature?

Through the system itself, it's only possible to do that while the phone is charging, go to the developer options and switch "Stay awake" on, otherwise, there might be some 3rd party app that does what you want.
Is it possible to be able to change the fingerprint animation. I came from a oneplus and it had several to pick from. I mean the animation when you press down on sensor.
