How to Deactivate Step Counter on Lockscreen? - Huawei P30 Questions & Answers

I searched this forum but did not find an answer.
On mate 30Pro, menu for configuration of smart cover has on option to (de)activate steps counter.
However on P30 the same menu misses that option. Do you know if I can do it another way?
many thanks for any help

Hello,
Uninstaling "Health" app should remove the step counter.
That's seems excessive but I didn't find any option to just disable it.

Hi
But to unninstall health i need root or i can do it through adb commands? And which commands?
Many thanks for help

You can uninstall this app like a normal app :
- long press on the app icon and uninstall
- parameters > applications > applications > health > uninstall
- optimizer > cleaning > apps > health > uninstall

Wow! many thanks for help

If you don't need the magazine lock screen, choose another style in Themes - Me - Customize - Lock screen style.
My P30 is Chinese. Not sure it works the same way on international versions.

[GUIDE]Setup a permanent beautiful Samsung-like replacement for ur default lockscreen

Hi everybody.
Today I present here a Samsung s3 like lockscreen replacement which will actually replace your default lockscreen and you'll never need to launch that app after a reboot to activate it (I know its too annoying :-\ )
HERE I WANT TO MENTION THAT I HAVEN'T CREATED THIS APP. I'M ONLY SHARING IT HERE
This, let me tell u, is the BEST lockscreen out there to get you rid of that default one. Also this doesn't consume your ram as go locker and others do so you won't sacrifice performance for beauty. What else could you want !!!!
Here's how to go about it :-
1. Download the apk file from the attachments.
2. Install the apk as a system app (IF U DONT KNOW HOW TO then first install it as user app and then use titanium backurp to convert it to a system app )
3. After the installation long touch on ur desktop.
4. Choose the following - Shortcuts>Activities>Touch the name "unlock screen">Choose the second activity.
5. Touch the icon that just appeared and first enable the lockscreen.
6. Now choose the Set sceen lock option and choose swipe.
7. Now u can change wallpapers and shortcuts to be shown on the lockscreen as u wish.
Although there aren't many features here but this lockscreen is permanent and will not affect performance at all.
Congrats !!!! You've just set up your phone's lockscreen to be completely like Samsung GS3.
Whenever you want to disable the lockscreen or uninstall the app all u need to for is disable the screen from the settings of the app and then uninstall.
If u have any queries, post them here and I'll answer u as soon as possible.
I have also attached some screenshots for u to see if you're unable to understand anything. Also if you like the app then post it here and rate the thread well. (I can't force you to thank me but if you liked the app then why not )
ENJOY THE BEAUTY.........
DON'T FORGET TO HIT THE THANKS BUTTON IF THIS HELPED YOU
I've installed it as system app but when I long-press my desktop there is no "Activities" option under "shortcuts". :crying:
Edit: I've managed to get it working by downloading a shortcut creator app from the playstore. It's nice but I stick to my default lockscreen because of two things:
1. The app still shows under my running applications consuming around 2-6mb of RAM acceptable but;
2. It does not have notifications for unread sms and missed calls?
Thanks still.

Thanks for trying the app. The problem is that I didn't write the code so I can't really help that shortcut issue. Anyway I'm trying to find a workaround so maybe this'll be fixed soon.

Hi, I just tried giving a missed call to my phone and found that it does show a notification which is a semi-transparent round icon at the centre of the screen. Also u can add a shortcut to the call log app for direct access to missed calls and a message icon for messages.
Hi can you help me again? I uninstalled this app without deactivating it as device administrator, it went well except for a few expected forced closes which was easily resolved by rebooting my device. A few days after I wanted to give this app another shot, installed it as system app but when I try to create a shortcut I only have one activity to choose from that is "settings". It still activates as my locker but I wanted it to be a device administrator again. By not being a device admin my default locker shows up for while during boot-up until the app loads and takes over the lock. When it as installed as a device admin it was instant upon boot. Hope you can help solve my problem which is primarily why doesn't it show up among the device administrator choices anymore?

Hello. This app (being installed as a system app) doesnt need to be a system administrator. Also you can't install an app that has the status of system administrator without disabling it. Therefore I assume that you've missed something in the description. As or the problem of the other locker app taking over, the simplest solution would be to uninstall that app. Post again here if this didn't solve the issue.
Hello, thanks for the reply. After days of having this app as my default lockscreen, my "complaints" are probably not worth it (especially the device administrator thingy ^^). It's working flawlessly, default lock is not showing up anymore. So it stays as my default lockscreen. And by the way there is a missed SMS notification after all. Again thank you! :good:

Yeah but not so obvious, it's a good compromise for me. I don't know another way atm sorry
Install this APK and reboot phone. Root is not needed.
Author - hawst (4pda).
Brightness bar disappears.
For Brightness bar returning go to applications manager - more - show system apps - find com.android.system ui-overlay - remove - reboot smart.
thanks, i have tried that and it works!
what about remove the notification toggles and clean the notification panel?

How about removing the labels as well?
Thank you
the best way I've used on past devices is thru Xposed and GravityBox/Wanam. Alternate it with swiping the top status bar which is much cooler and minimalistic. But Xposed for the S7 is still underway. So...patience mate.

I believe it can also be removed via ADB with the following: adb shell settings put system notification_panel_brightness_adjustment 0

I got a chance to try it out as well. Doesn't look like it works for the S7, though it was previously used with success on a S6.
Have you guys tried the apk from @sergmarin (a few posts above) ? Works for me on note 5, marshmallow.

How to remove Google assistant and camera quick launch button from lockscreen?

Hi guys,
does anyone know if it is possible to remove the quick launch button for the google assistant and camera from the lockscreen? The ones that you suppose to drag up from the corner to activate the respective app.
Using stock rom 224, Nova Launcher prime.
Thanks
Michael
I'm 99.999% sure it can't be done without root / alteration of the LockScreenUI

Really? Setting -> Apps -> Configuration (next to the three dots) -> Default Apps -> Assist & voice input, tap Assist app and choose None.

Not a valid solution imo. It disables the assistant "shortcuts" system wide. He only wants to disable the Lock screen icon, not Google Now (or whatever assistant he's using) as a whole.
And the Camera shortcut is still there.

Phone Dialer App

I installed a third party dialing app and want to get rid of the Vivo dialer as it won’t stop acting as the default dialer.
I have used ADB regularly to remove apps so I am familiar with the process. My question is - There are four pre-installed phone apps. Not sure if I should delete all four or just the actual dialer app.
They are:
Phone – com.android.dialer
Phone – com.android.phone
Phone Management – com.android.incallui
Phone Service – com.android.server.telecom
Phone/Messaging Storage – com. Android.providers.telephony
Thanks for any help or insight you can provide.

Deleting only [com.android.dialer] will work well for third-party apps.
it's not working also, DO NOT uninstall com.android.phone
I am adding myself to this thread, as I regularly use Google Dialer on other phones with ROMs more dev-friendly.
I installed the patched apk from Xda but when I receive a call, it's still showing the default Vivo dialer.
I replaced it in the default apps and also applied all the security permissions to app and in security center, but still no success.
Any idea?

Not sure of Chinese version but works fine in international version nex s.
Then try activity launcher method.
Install activity launcher app
Open app select all activities in the drop down at top
Scroll down and navigate to settings in the list
Open settings and check for Default App and click on it
Default app window will be launched.
Now select phone from there and select the dialer u wish to use.

no, at least for me i didn´t use adb for changing the stock phone app.
The activity launcher method didn't work on my Chinese NEX with Android 8 but it works very well after I upgraded to Android 9.
Thanks for the guidance, it works perfectly NEX 3
Download activity launcher from App Store
Search for settings
Look for default apps
Select the new dialer app as default
Done
Note: you have to ensure that all permissions and notifications are activated for the new dialer app
It works for me with my Nex 3
There are multiple apps by the same name as "Activity launcher"
can anyone please tell me which is the correct one?
I want to change default dialer of Vivo Y55
Thanks

Manage Notifications of System Apps on Rooted OP7

How do you guys manage notifications of System apps when their settings are not available under Settings / Apps and Notifications / See All Apps?
I see that the Play Store has something called NotificationsOff for rooted device. Do you use that, or something else?

Actually your answer is fantastic. For some reason I didn't receive the notification (or deleted it by mistake) and hadn't seen it until now. But yes, your answer is perfect. Thank you very much!!!
Summarizing for the purpose of this thread:
- System
- Apps & notifications
- See all 123 apps (or however many you have installed)
- Tap on three dots at the top right, select "Show system"
System apps now appear and their notifications can be managed.
