This is a tool I created to help me with my X10 and ARC. I thought it might be useful to some of you so I made some fixes and here it is! Keep in mind that this is a beta version so use at your own risk. Some of the features are:
• push, pull, install apps and transfer between System <=> User apps and between SD <=> Device
• remove & uninstall apps, clean data from deleted apps and delete orphan files
• change min & max CPU frequency (from available steps)
• view and edit: gps.conf, Hosts, build.prop, hw_config, media_profiles.xml, vdd_levels and install-recovery
• view and kill running processes
• zipalign
• keyboard functionality
• search files / folders
• basic file explorer
• push and pull Bootanimation, framework-res and Framework jar files
• clean cache & temp folders and application data cache
• enable Market to show paid apps
• create phone log (logcat, dmesg)
• view device info
• and others.
I tested it on X10, X10 mini, X8, PLAY, Mini Pro, Mini, Neo and ARC.
The tool works both with USB (recommended) and wireless phone connection.
For any questions, problems or suggestions please leave a message
It's better to backup your data before Zipaligning, because some launchers don't work correctly when they are zipaligned, causing a reboot loop.
Please use the link below instead of uploading the tool on other hosts, so that I can see the downloads. Thanks

To launch the tool
- unzip the package
- run "ADB Mask Controller.exe"
- connect your phone (enable USB debugging)
- If this is the first time you use this tool click on "Check root access and busybox". If you are sure that your phone is rooted and the tool says otherwise, make sure that your phone allows the program to have SuperUser access.
- Busybox is required in order to use this tool. If you get the result "NO" next to the Busybox Version then you must push/install it on your phone.
Buttons explained:
- Green: No Root access necessary
- Black: Root access needed
- Red: Use with caution
Hints for Wireless connection:
- To connect your phone by wireless you must install and turn on adbWireless, adb over Wifi or another similar app
- Wireless connection is slower than USB connection. It is not recommended to do advanced tasks using wireless since the connection can be interrupted more easily than USB connections.
- The display must be turned on while connected with wifi (or a wakelock must be enabled through an app e.g. Waketimer) in order to prevent the cpu from going to sleep mode while it's working with wireless adb.
Hints:
- To uninstall the apps that cannot be uninstalled with Broken Link Cleaner you must push them on the phone, reboot and uninstall them using the Delete Feature (make sure Uninstall is selected).
- It's good to click on "Fix permissions" since it fixes many system & data permissions.
Notes on the new features:
- Keyboard functionality: Some features may not work on all devices
- Push Text to textbox: This feature is still in its early steps. Speed optimization removes unnecessary spaces, empty lines etc.
- Market client id: For devices with the old version of Market, it replaces the "Sony Ericsson" channel from the main page with "My apps" channel
- Battery Status: Some info may not be available for your device
- Framework.res recovery zip (Amend script): Framework.res is converted to a zip, signed and it is ready to install in Recovery (no need to flash the phone when you use a faulty framework) Just move it to sdcard and install it in Recovery
Not bad, thanks.
Great!
I have an issue though. It says my device is not rooted although it is. When i press "shell root" a pop-up dialog says "try again". No luck with that.

Hi and thanks.
If you have SuperUser installed on your phone, when you click on "Check Root access and busybox" a popup will appear on your phone, asking for Superuser rights. Click on "Allow" to give access to the program

Yeap fixed!
I have another problem but that seems to occur due to my setup:
When i press the "User Apps" tab, while the progress bar is moving, the result i get in the app browser window, is /data/app.
I have the App2SD script running (/data/app linked at /system/sd/app) so could this be why the user app list is not populating?
Thanks in advance though, everything else seem to work great!
I just added Version 1.01c

Also zipalign works perfect.
*EDIT*
I dont know if this is a bug or i'm doing something wrong:
On the third tab (push and pull), i cant push files to my phone. I try to drag and drop apps inside the window dialog, but it does not let me drop it anywhere inside.

Drag and drop not working on mine also!
Drag and drop worked for me, but zipalign system/sd/app didn't work. My phone (x10 mini pro) stuck at SE orb logo, but there was adb communication (i don't know if I name it right, but the program identified the phone and was able to accomplish some functions). I don't know exactly how, I removed the card in some point, a lot of reboots, but after one reboot it suddenly booted successfully, I think I pressed shell root). I had noticed that the program had stuck in "wait..." when I pressed "zipalign system/sd/app", and that launcherpro didn't work, so I pushed and installed launcherpro and magically it (LP) started working. All system apps work well, NO widget/app installed in system/sd/app works, they all crash. If I press zipalign system/sd/app again, everything is zipaligned according to the program, except launcherpro, which stops working after that and needs re-installing.
I hope I have helped you and not smothered you with this decription.
UPDATE: I started playing with root explorer, and noticed that when I added the "execute" permission to "user" some (astro, TiB) worked again, but others didn't (handcent, documents to go). Is is a matter of permissions?
I also had the same problem with KreAch3R and a mini pro.
The difference is that I pressed all three options under zipallign and all completed.
Only after i pressed "zipalign system/sd/app" launcher pro stopped working though everything else worked fine.
Then I closed the application at the pc removed the phone from the usb (safely) and rebooted the phone and i am stuck in the sony ericsson orb.
I did the reboot from my phone not the application.
thnx in advance

In order to zipalign, first you have to push zipalign binary and zipalign scripts. There is an option for that on the homescreen of the app.
this application has everything to be essential however...
i must be retarded or something
i`ve usb debbuging on and first thing i do is "check connection" yet...check pic
i´m on AOSP 2.1 007 btw
This Programm is really awsome. Please dont stop to refine it.
Thx for your hard work and support.
DISCLAIMER: This is to add the MobileData toggle to your notification panel on the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It might or might not work on the other models. Your phone has to be rooted in order for this to work. I'm not responsible if you screw something up on your device by not following directions.
Here are the steps I used:
1. Download the Sqlite Editor app from either the playstore(costs 2.99) or download it from my attachment.
2. After it's download, it will ask for root permissions, click Grant and it should load the databases.
3. Go to the FILES tab
4. Click on data, then after it opens up, look for data again
5. After that happens, scroll down the list till you find com.android.providers.settings and click on it
6. Click on databases and then click on settings.db
7. After you click on settings.db, then you will see system, click on that and it should open up a long list of things
8. Look for notification_panel_active_app_list. It will be near to the bottom of the list. You will see notification_panel_default_active_app_list. That is not the correct one. Make sure it says notification_panel_active_app_list.
9. Click and hold it till a sub menu pops up. Click on Edit Record
10. You're going to see a list of toggles under values
11. At the end of that list, make sure there is a ; after the last word. Then enter MobileData and put ; right after it. No spaces.
12. It should look like this for example: AirplaneMode;MobileData;
13. Now click Save, Reboot the phone and when it comes back up, you should have a MobileData toggle in your notification panel in your settings
Thanks

I basically took the instructions from XDA member "chronicaust" and made them simple with 1 single download link for the service files, and links to all apps needed. People were having trouble understanding the process in the original thread. So I hope this simplifies it and makes it clear for any new people. All I did was reorganize this process and hopefully make it easier for most people. The original instructions were confusing for me... I don't take credit for developing this at all!

Thank YOU!! I couldn't figure out with the other thread, this was simple and easy to follow, just a suggestion, when you mention root system folder, it would probably make it less confusing for others if you mention that it's not the actual folder called "root" under system.
Well not sure what I did wrong. Copied over the the two files into the framework folder. The phone froze and rebooted as expected. It then said optimizing about 400 apps. After that finished it just kept saying "Unfortunately, Verizon Login has stopped.", "NFC Service", "com.android.phone", "Google search", "Pica something..." and several others in an endless loop. :/
EDIT: Downloading the stock Verizon tar... What a pitty. I cannot access anything.

Yeah I changed the permissions for both. (Granted I ended up removing permissions?) The only thing I did that might be different from what you said is copy both files with the permissions already changed at the same time then it froze.

I'm not sure why so many people are obsessed with enabling this feature. People like me who don't have unlimited data don't care to piss it away with "boosting" my download speeds. Plus, I don't really download anything worth needing it anyways but all the power to the rest of you

I followed the steps and after it updated apps. My Wifi Tether notification icon has changed. It shows the USB one instead of the usual radio signal icon. and when I click on the notification, it takes me to the USB and Bluetooth tether screen. Whereas before, it took me right to the WIFI Tether screen.
When I backed up the files to change them back, I realized that I backed up the wrong files.
Stupid me.
Does anyone have the stock JAR and ODEX files? I'd rather have the convenience of tether than download booster.
Thanks in advance.

I followed all the way up to replacing services.jar and when I do replace it, it says unfortunately (a bunch of apps) has stopped. It causes me to have to do a battery pull, and when I do power it back on, it gets stuck on the Verizon logo screen. I've tried it a few times with both root explorer, efs file explorer, and both files at the same time/services.jar first. Every time I try, I have to restore my rom using safestrap. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Edit: I tried flashing the zip in the main thread and it's working so far without any hiccups.

Can you put a disclaimer on the OP that states that enabling this (if you have native hotspot enabled) will mess with your WiFi Hotspot toggle since it replaces the services.jar? Hotspot still works, but the running notification is incorrect. Just a thought....

If you want to fix it, you have to replace your services.jar with the stock one (this is how I fixed it with the help of Versatile1). And I had a question, when your mobile hotspot running notification was the correct one, clicking the running notification took you to the hotspot options but did long pressing the quicksetting still take you to the USB tether options? Was just wondering.
Download Booster not using LTE?
So I've had Download Booster enabled for a little while after following this post. I've noticed a couple of things:
1. When downloading large files, DB doesn't always appear and when it does appear, LTE is never used.
2. During the download, DB disappears.
I wasn't sure what the reason was for the odd behavior but was curious to see if anybody else has noticed it.
I would make a donation for a 1-click apk solution like towelroot.
For guys who are unable to proceed after the language selection when a new rom is flashed, Here is the solution. There is no use of going to settings<selecting Apps < searching for setup wizard app < Force stopping and giving permissions again. After lot of attempts successfully got a solution. but dont know how it might effect the daily usage.
Steps:
1. Reboot to TWRP
2. Click on "Mount"
3. Select "Data"(check mark the data option)
4.Click on Mount the selected storage (don't remember the option exactly)
5. Now go back and click on Advanced
6.Select file manager
7. Scroll down and search for System folder
8. Again scroll and search for priv-app folder
9. Now Search for Setup wizard folder.
10. After entering into the folder, u can see setup wizard apk. Simply delete that by pressing the icon at the bottom right corner and choosing on delete option.
11. You can see a promt asking to delete. Simply swipe it.
12. After go back, Make a Factory reset and reboot the device.
The only bad thing is, it doesnt ask for language selection or wifi or google account setup. It directly goes to the launcher. Not sure how this is going to effect the daily usage.
One thing I found is unable to expand notification drawer.Im new to 7.1(Resurrection remix). may be need to explore new options.
Note: if you got process force close error, click on wait and select the launcher.Thats it.
if this thread helped, dont forget to hit thanks.
P.S: Sorry for my simple and bad english
Edit 2: (The perfectly working one)
After selecting language, then long press the power button, go to settings and connect to wifi and then proceed to login to google. This doesnt make setup wizard close.
credits goes to @Di5cip1e .
The problem is also solved by updating to latest GAPPs. The ROM you were trying to set up was updated to 7.1.2 and the GAPPs you were using were old.
Nice thanks
Hey guy's, I hope somebody can help me out here. I can't find any explanation on internet. I want to install an apk from the local storage on my Rog phone 5 ( android 12,un rooted) .
In the old days it was pretty simple, just a slide to activate the "allow unknown sources", click on the apk file and it would install. Now on the rog phone 5 in the apps¬ifications, special app-acces, install unknown apps it only shows a few apps that I can give permissions to install from unknown sources. Like Chrome, file manager, gmail, brave browser etc. ( see picture). So I give the file manager or brave the permission, restart the phone, go to the apk in the file manager but it won't install.
It will just show the contents of the apk. If I select the apk I can remove it, rename it, compress it, anything but install it.
I can choose open with brave but still nothing happens. I tried downloading an app in the playstore to install apk files but it won't even list the apk file. I have no clue why they made something that used to be so easy so complicated. So I hope somebody can enlighten me how to install an apk on this phone. Thanks in advance!
Have you enabled install unknown apps in developers options ? Special app access allows you to allow/not allow individual apps to install unknown apk files. I think you have to enable it in developer options for the native installer first. I may be wrong but it's worth checking.
I'll go check if the option is there and let you know. Tnx man.
The only thing I found was " force app allowance on external drive" and but it changed nothing.

you could try
Code:
adb shell settings put secure install_non_market_apps 1
adb shell settings put secure unknown_sources_default_reversed 1
that would be from terminal on pc or you could install settings database editor from play store and grant it permissions via adb and you will have gui to change system settings
Could you please walk me through how to do this? Tnx.

Ok, first I guess I need to ask some questions. Have you tried a different file manager, installed thru play store ? How many .apk files have you tried to install ? If it is just the one app that you have in storage it may be corrupt. Have you tried a fresh copy of it ? Is it an old app and is it compatible with your Android version ?
I don't know what I was thinking, that isn't in developer options anyway, it's in security. It would seem odd for them to remove the ability to install personal apk.
