How Can I Disable The Update Popup Notification? - Moto G7 Power Questions & Answers

For some reason, the June (?) Update for the G7 Power US refuses to install, but I'm still getting the notification. I'm rooted, so it's there a way to make the notification stop showing up?

Yep, go to apps, find Motorola Update services (click show system apps in the 3dot/hamburger menu upper left or upper righT) and disable notifications.
That being said, this is so so ****ing stupid, I am on a EU G7 power and an update refuses to install anyway, had this before and a reset fixed it so I could install last update, but once again it fails the next one. I am not rooted either.

i know.i am unlocked and i can update manually through flashing the entire zip package for my version of the moto g7 power which is the 1955-2 version which in about says retla.

Security Update

I just purchased the sprint version of the s5. I rooted and just installed a custom recovery. I keep getting a notification to update from Samsung. It's a security update but it goes through the Google play store. Since I'm rooted and have a custom recovery I'm not supposed to take this update, right? Also, how do I get this notification to disappear? Thanks

[Q] Removing the OTA Notification from Rooted Device

I have an unlocked bootloader on a Verizon Droid Ultra with TWRP and stock 4.4.4. All is working well but I recently received a notification (on the left of the notification bar) indicating that an update has been downloaded and ready to install. I do not want to install Android 5 at this time for a number of reasons and would like to get rid of the notification and erase the download (if I could find it). Does anyone have any suggestions other than ignoring the request to install the update?

I cannot find Motorola update service 4.0. I did find the following that sound close:
Motorola Services 6
Motorola Services Main 1.0
MotorolaOTA 1.0
Is it one of these?

You can change the fingerprint in your build.prop to read 5.0 and it will stop with the nagging icon

Cancelled Ota update

Hi I'm on moto G3.
Yesterday I received an update which included
Camera shutter fix
Android security patch
It said I would not able to downgrade the os. I selected no thanks. But there was a pop up saying go to about :
Going to About phone > updates if u want to download it.
I had decided I'll download it later but when I went there it's said Os was Up To Date.
The update was around 300mb .
It was important thb which fixes annoying shutter issue.
So what can I do to get it back. I tried rebooting and charging but it won't help.
Thank you and as for where I live, India.

HTC U11 Oreo update got canceled on 24%

Hi Everyone,
im sorry if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't able to find the right section to ask for help about getting this update done..
Well here is my story:
Tried to update from 7.1.1 (software Nr: 1.27.401.11) to 8.0 and got an undescribed error symbol. No reason why it stopped or something.
I contacted HTC and after 2 Weeks waiting they respond with "send me your IMEI"
After another 2 weeks they told me to set it back to producer settings and try again.
I did it and nothing changes. Im exhausted I just want to get this update or at least stop those stupid reminders of a new update...
Google can't find good results.
My HTC U11 is a Dual-SIM version if this is important to know. Oh and its unbranded.
hope you guys have some advise.
Thank you in advance!
I had the same issue. I have unlocked bootloader and twrp recovery with magisk. After returning to stock recovery and boot, uninstalling magisk still had 24% issue. I installed stock system with ruu. After that I updated easly to oreo. All data will be lost if you want this method.
Hi thanks for replying. Does this root the System? I have no clue and dont want to lose guarantee.
If you have stock system with lock bootloader then I don't know why you can't install oreo. I unlocked bootloader so my guarantee is void anyway. I just told you what I did in my case. I don't know if you can install ruu with lock bootloader. Maybe someone smarter can tell you something about guarantee.
You can stop the update notification by pressing long on the updation notification then press advance settings or something like that (I have a German Android OS) , then click on the updater icon and then you should be at app settings of the updater, just force close the app. After that you should never see the update notification until you restart your device

hello. I have same problem. Did you solve?

Preventing firmware auto update

Is there a way to prevent Galaxy A515F auto updating stock Android 11 firmware to Android 12? I don't like at all Android 12. After updating via OTA, I flashed back to Android 11 via Odin, but after a few days the phone started to download again the Android 12 update and the only option is 'Pause', but after I click 'Pause' this is shown all the time, don't disappear, even if I restart the phone. I tried to uncheck 'Auto download over wifi' in the 'Software update' menu. In the 'Biometrics and security' menu I deactivated 'Security policy updates' and in the 'Developer options' I disabled 'Auto update system' but the phone keeps starting the download over mobile data without asking for my permission!!! This makes me very angry, because I payed for the phone good money and I can't control it! I don't know how Samsung developers think, but I think that for my money I have the right to decide what to do. They should leave to customers the opportunity to decide how to use our phones.
Solved: I debloated my phone via ADB Shell and I uninstalled Software updater, so my phone doesn't auto update anymore.
