Hello - Just purchased the LG V50 Korean variant V500N. It is making me crazy that I can't remove the dual clock on my lockscreen. It has the local time and the Korean time. I downloaded QuickShortcutMaker and followed instructions to go to Roaming - Clock. However, when I click Try, I receive a permissions error. When I check permissions for the app, they are blacked out. When I click Create, nothing happens. Getting very irritated and frustrated trying to resolve this issue. Advice or assistance would be very helpful. Thanks!

Try the thing on the last page.Dont have the phone yet, maybe someone who has it might help.
I have the same issue.
Anyone know how to enable the permissions for quick shortcut maker?

I used this tutorial on my G7.

Does it work?
Tried it, "Roaming KT Roaming Test" doesnt appear

For the Lg v50 (all korean models) you just have to (if you're on android Q) downgrade to Android Pie *v11m* and remove it with quickshortcut maker. The process It's the same as the old lg devices: 1) type "roaming"
2)scroll down to the bottom and select the "settings for the roaming clock"
3) press try and uncheck the first option witch is the roaming clock (korean)
That's it!

No, It's a permanent process.

Ok thanks mate
Are there other options?
I didn't realize I had dual clocks until after I upgraded to Android 10. Is there any way to remove the Korean clock without downgrading to Android 9 (Pie)? Otherwise, does anyone have clear, simple steps (or a video) for doing the downgrade? I've watched several YouTube videos, but there were either for downgrading older versions of Android (and on older phones), or for downgrading a different make of phone other than LG. I don't want to take a chance of messing the phone up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have tried many methods , but only rollback to Pie gave me option to test roaming network, or maybe you want go to other country to disable it while using roaming network.. ^_^!

Is it possible if I flash different firmware like V500N20m_00_KT_KR_OP_0310.kdz to V500NO11m_00_OPEN_KR_OP_0820.kdz (i think different telco)

No. You can't do that with the v50 (yet) and will not be able to until we get the firehose, with which some workaround can probably be made.
Need help to downgrade from Android 10 to Android 9
I have been working hours to try downgrading my LG V50 from Android 10 to Android 9, so that I can then run the QuickShortcutMaker, in order to remove the Korean dual clock, and then reinstall Android 10. I have tried using LG Flash Tool, and LGUp. With LGUp, I have tried versions 1.14, 1.16, and 1.17. With every attempt, I am running into some kind of error that doesn't allow me to flash. My current install (LGUp version 1.16.0.3) recognized my phone, allows me to choose the kdz file, begins the process (showing "firmware update" on the phone's screen), but then stops and gives me this rror message box that pops up: "Error: 0x5319, Not allow to change the device.(LGU_KR->KT_KR)"
I am at wits end. I want to roll back to Android 9 so I can get rid of the dual screen, and then get on with using my new phone. Can anyone help me figure out why it's not allowing me to flash it? Thank for any helpful suggestions!

Hello! You can't flash a KT_KR kdz in a phone with LGU_KR firmware, like the error returned in the log. If your phone is a korean LGU+ carrier, you have to flash a LGU firmware, not a KT firmware, nor an OPEN firmware.
Thank you, but now another question

Thanks for the advice. I got the correct firmware, and it worked. However, now I have another problem. I successfully reverted to Android 9, and then installed quickshortcutmaker. But when I get to the roaming clock settings and click "Try" I get this message: "Sorry. You cannot launch this activity from this app because it requires some additional permissions to launch." How do I get those permissions, so that I can disable the dual clock?

I'm unable to use Android Pay - I'm not rooted, the boot loader is RELOCKED but when I try and add my card I get the dreaded "Google is unable to verify that your device or software running on it is Android compatible" error.
So, I was wondering, is it the fact that I did previous unlock my boot loader or something else stopping me.
BTW, Vendor: hw Country: eu, running C432B170.
Cheers.
No joy either
Same problem here. Imported mine and have done nothing but update to latest version of official roms (tried a couple of different ones today as well) and I get the same error. No rooting, purposely held off doing so so I could try Android Pay. SafetyNet Helper says the "CTS profile match" is false. My wild stab in the dark is that it is something to do it with it being identified as an international handset or handset from a non-Android pay supported country.
Had a web chat with an Android Pay helpdesk monkey and they had me reboot and reinstall a few times. They've also had me send some screenshots but I'm not holding out much hope for a useful reply.

CTS. Just double checked.
Maybe it's the same thing as CSC for Samsung phones.
In case, this might represent the target market for that phone, and that market might not yet be allowed to use Android Pay.
I'm using the single SIM version, NXT-L09, I managed to add my card but when I tried to pay for something in store I got the unable to verify.... message pop up on screen.
It also fails the CTS profile match in Safetynet helper
Android Pay worked for me today
I gave safetynet helper another try and this time it said my device passed. Re added my card to it and then used it on a London bus.
Using a Mate 8 NXT-L09C636B170
I too am able to use Android Pay. It started working for me last Thursday. While I had an open support ticket with the Android Pay help desk I periodically checked to see if it had started working. Eventually it did. I was able to add cards, SafetyNet Helper passed it's check and I was able to make payments. Result.
The same day, Android Pay help desk got back to me regarding my support ticket (there had been some backwards and forwards with logs, screenshots and the like). They concluded that Android Pay would not work because my phone was rooted. It isn't and has never has been. They had me send screenshots of multiple root checkers that displayed that the phone was not rooted *before* they came to this conclusion. I guess they just wanted the ticket closed and that was the most convenient excuse.
I've put it down to enough people reporting handsets not working that the Google added more phones to the "approved list" and help desks don't know what they are talking about.
My build number is NXT-L29C636B180
Hm.. Well this was interesting to read. Thanks for the updates saying that Android Pay does in fact (hopefully) work! I'm going to to get the L29 International dual SIM version soon so I was curious... I'll update when I get it and test it out
Mine still doesn't work - I then tried upgrading to B320 and I can't even add a card now whereas before I did eventually allow me to add a card. I'm cheesed off with it. Bootloader Locked no root and no Android Pay on a L29C432B320

I've downgraded to B170 and now have Android Pay working.
The high level process was:
All done via the help of SRK Tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-t3369797
1) Unlock Boot Loader
2) Install Custom Recovery
3) Root Phone
4) Change to oeminfo and custom.bin eu (c432) - Even though I already was
5) Copy Full Update.app for C432B153 to dload folder
6) Flash stock recovery
7) Boot recovery and allow update to install
8) Factory Reset
9) Copy Update.app for C432B170 to dload folder
10) Boot recovery and allow update to install
I'm not sure how but following this process (although I've listed the steps from memory and not in front of my Laptop I did this on) I ended up with a Bootload LOCKED C432B170 and Android Pay works. I've not - nor will I update to and EMUI 4.1 version until they are released as OTA updates that my phone asks me to install
Android Pay was working fine on B103, I've upgraded to B321 via dload and now got pop up info that my device is incompatible with android pay. Any ideas?
Sent from Huawei Mate 8
Just one question
Hi,
Which recovery should I flash? the one for EMUI 4.1 or 4.0?
thanks
I believe Android Pay will not work with EMUI 4.1. I wish we were warned about this before we were allowed to flash to 320 or 321. No warning with the update links. Sucks!

I've found a way to install pie to my USA unlocked G7. It worked pretty well, just wasn't able to use Google pay anymore.
Edit: I can try to post a tutorial today.
Could you send me the video link via email? the rom has Portuguese Br? email: [email protected]
In the original video that was posted on youtube, they used a decompiler to mod LGUP but you can download one that has the Partition DL option in it here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603845019
All you need then I think is the .KDZ file. I've been using the korean pie build for a few days and I do miss Google pay, but its pretty good and still pretty similar to oreo.
It works! i upgraded to android 9 via this lg up! ?

Installed pie on one of those ulm g7s. Pie installed no problem except on Verizon I get data, but no calls or sms. Other than that it's pretty smooth. Would experiment with it more if I could make phone calls. Any suggestions? I'm in the U.S.
@dexx121 which one have you tried? I think S/K/L have different freq. for each provider.
Also how did you flash it? My "G710VM10H" verizon type always stop @ 4% or 11%. I've tried Partition DL, refurb & upgrade all the same. now i'm stuck at the firmware screen
also tried the LGUP Dual & still has errors or looking for DLL for G710VM10H, same when using uppercut.

I have tried all three versions of Pie. Same result with all (data, but no phone calls or SMS). I have one of those sprint converted to unlocked g7s (lg710pm) to (g710ulm10g). Sounds like your G7 is the Verizon brand. I'm not sure if those can be flashed with non verizon firmware. Maybe someone with the G710VM10H can chime in and confirm. What error message are you getting when LGUP stops?

Here you are: lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg710em-firmwares/#tab=firmwares
There's been a lot of new users picking up cheap G7 ThinQ G710ULM (US Unlocked) versions on ebay lately, then getting frustrated when they find out it a hacked Sprint version (G710pm).
I'm finding posts from new users on different corners of the internet, Telegram groups, Reddit, etc, usually saying that they can't upgrade from Oreo and their device is missing a serial number, and the IMEI is actually from the Sprint pm version. I couldn't find a lot of info in one place about these handsets, so I'm starting this thread to discuss them. There's a good chance any ULM on ebay for a good price is one of these. I bought 3 of them for different people from different sellers, and this was the case on all of them. I almost returned them all and gave up until I did some research and found out THIS ISN'T NECESSARILY A BAD THING!
In fact, it may actually be beneficial compared to the real ULM version in some ways. First of all, it WILL work with T-mobile USA just fine. The bands all seem to work, it even supports WiFi calling and VOLTE, and there's a chance even B71 will work (although this isn't 100% verified, it shows up as an available band to test in the service menu). The real ULM supposedly skips this band. Some people even say the real ULM version is also missing bands for AT&T, but the PM crossflashed version seems to connect to them (this might be an isolated incident or fluke, but at least one redditor claims this was his experience). I'm still not clear on how the unlocked official US version can be missing AT&T bands, so I'd love for other people to maybe chime in here with their experiences.
Yes, you can update to Pie. The OTA updates won't work, likely because of the missing serial number. On that note, I'd LOVE to find out why that is. Can anyone explain why these crossflashed devices are missing the SN? Does that happen on other crossflashed devices?
Either way, follow this guide here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...how-to-install-pie-stock-treble-aosp-t3914079
Note, this guide was written for flashing a European variant, but the same steps apply. Just choose a kdz for the ULM variant from here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg710ulm-firmwares/#tab=firmwares
^ I recommend the latest Google Fi firmware version, which is G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010.kdz , from 2019-11-14
There is a more recent version from BPT, but it is unclear what that firmware is for. BPT seems to be some sort of regional carrier, so you are better off with the regular USA or Fi version.
Also note, you may need to use 7zip to extract the dll file from that guide. That took me a while to figure out, as Windows explorer throws an error with it. Once you finish, your phone will reboot with a shiny new (relatively) up to date Pie firmware!
There. You now saved yourself a few bucks and got a solid phone. Feel free to share your experiences with the handset here.

The devices lose the s/n and possibly imei because people are flashing using lgup 1.14 dev version which causes issues with nvdata.
Lgup 1.15 fixes this when you go back to oreo then update to pie.
Also crossflashed devices do not get ota because lgup marks these devices as crossflashed in nvdata using a 0x01 value for certified_device

Wow, that's some good info right there, thank you for sharing!
Hmm- messing with nvdata though? So you're saying the SN missing is some sort of accident or goof? That doesn't sound so cool. Should I be concerned anything else is messed up? There's a ton of these in the wild now and it seems the SN is the only weird side effect that has been noticed.
As far as I know the IMEI is fine (looking it up reveals it is a PM imei, which is correct, and it does work with voice over Wifi and VOLTE, which I think wouldn't work if the IMEI was messed up). In fact, it's interesting because when that screen loads in Settings>About, etc, it shows "checking" under S/N, then checking goes away and it comes back blank. None of the other fields seem to need any sort of checking first. There's something fishy about how the S/N is stored that it has to check it first and then error out.
Lgup 1.15 fixes this when you go back to oreo then update to pie.

Hmm. It came with Oreo, and I used 1.15 to flash to Pie. So you're saying I should flash another Oreo kdz with my LGUP and it will magically fix any corrupt NVdata?
Also crossflashed devices do not get ota because lgup marks these devices as crossflashed in nvdata using a 0x01 value for certified_device

Oh, that is unfortunate. And that value stays with it forever, even if you go back to it's native firmware? I'm assuming that value can't be manipulated with any of the tools we have available.
Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. Any insight on how the bands work? Is that from nvdata as well, and completely independent of firmware? So essentially, I have whatever band support a G710pm has? Or perhaps was it manipulated by the seller/refurbisher, who possibly used some nvram voodoo tricks which killed the S/N as a result?
Even tho the s/n is blank and at time if you try to show the imei it might also be blank, it is still stored internally and not lost forever.
There is multiple oreo's which for ulm is 10g and 11g, but i would have said flash to the original firmware but you cannot as sprint kdz is not available and the people who have an Original firmware still on device cannot or will not back it up for us.
The value for certified device returns to normal when flashed to the original firmware as lgup has an internal database used for identifying models.
As far as the basebands, all g7 thinq's come with the same bands no matter the firmware or region. The difference is the kdz gives band priority to the ones prefered by the carrier.
All of that can be changed by getting into the lg data secret menu or the dialer code menu
Remember now bootloader and root for the LG g7 is just the beginning. You talk about nvdata you might as well throw out EFS backup as well.
The point is that TWRP creates faulty EFS backups on many devices which can't be restored properly. For our devices TWRP is barely universal. People selling crossflashed phones know this which is why they sell them.
I prefer the manual backup using adb shell you can do it with terminal emulator as well.
Qfil is very powerful for Qualcomm devices and we'll figure out how to make back ups of all partitions that involve serial numbers and IMEI ( nvdata and efs).
Just wait you'll see.

Qfil is very powerful for Qualcomm devices and we'll figure out how to make back ups of all partitions that involve serial numbers and IMEI ( nvdata and efs).
Just wait you'll see.

I don't understand. What does twrp have to do with any of this? My bootloader is locked and the stock recovery is still there. The devices are likely just flashed with LGup as is, and that doesn't seem to have effected much outside of a missing SN.
Are you saying that my cross flashed phone would effect things if I tried to root somehow? Or am I missing the point here?

Using TWRP to create a backup of efs. Sometimes the restore is faulty.
EFS partition holds up the unique IMEI number of the device, also other identifying numbers like MAC address, MEID, and ESN are stored up in this partition.
Check you IMEI with this.
https://imeipro.info/check_lg.html
To get your sn.
Oh ok.
So I don't actually need to know my SN but I'd like it to not be blank if flashing back to a previous version would restore it... Especially if there are possibly other parts of nvram that may be corrupt that I'm unaware of?
Thanks for the info. The one I got said it can't work on Sprint or Verizon networks, and is missing the serial #, as you said.
I got just one from bay with S/N missing and software version G710ULM10g. Latest patch level Sep 1, 2018 (Android 8.0.0). Is there any way to install Android 10 based ROM?
Assuming that after following the steps (Part 1 only) (hope we can skip part 2?) to somehow install G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010 (Android 9), is there a way to follow similar steps after part-1 to update it to Android 10 based ROM?
It would be great if someone can help to install Android 10 directly from Android 8.0 (without the need to installing Android 9). I am not sure if its even possible to get Android 10 on such bay unlocked devices without S/N.

If you must know the serial number there is a one site that you enter imei and it'll tell you what it is. Just gotta search on Google.
Serial number is lost when bootloader is unlocked. You can regain it if you relock and go back to stock. Not sure what version of g7 you have. More likely it's probably crossflashed and sold like that so there won't be a kdz to go back to stock.
Android 10 has a thread they tell you what kdz to crossflash too and how to update to android 10 with the activity launcher app.
I just got a 710pm off ebay. I unlocked the bootloader, crossflashed to ulm pie, and rooted. It works just fine. [emoji106]

I don't know if there's much use of serial number. Isn't it better to have unlocked bootloader?

Here's the crossflashing thread using command line lgup.
Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/cross-flash-oreo-pie-firmwares-lg-g7-g7-t3915303
There's another lgup dualmode you can use the partion dl option to install the Korean kdz that Android 10 uses. Search for that.
To install the Android 10 LGUP_FOTA.up update which you use activity launcher to install.

Thanks. My phone (G710PM) is cross-flashed with G710ULM firmware Android 8. Please suggest is below plan will work?
1) First update existing firmware to stock Android 9.0 i.e. G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010 using these steps.
2) Then install Lineage OS 17.1 (based on Android 10) because it needs stock Android 9.0 as a pre-requisite using these steps.

Yes it will work.
I'd also like to add that Google Pay will not work, at retail brick and mortar stores.
A pop up says device may be rooted or modified.
I have magisk installed and it seems to trick Schwab banking app.
Edit:
Edit: I followed the instruction from the following video, and was able to get GPay to accept the card. Also Gpay needs to be manually hidden in magisk, be sure to select 'display system apps' to find it.

If you're on Pie, I doubt you have one of these Sprint phones. Check if you pass SafetyNet and if so, you have a native ULM model. Most G7 variants receive very few updates (including the ULM).

SO here it is after long day of cramming ! First Download the firmware android 10 from lg site for velvet then Download LGUP 117 version CMD ! from here https://m.blog.naver.com/mkk2828/222227384635 now put it on your desktop . as well u will need to convert the site from Chinese to English . . SO the red number is your port number in device manager .. so go there make sure you have the right port Serial port under Ports ... then make sure your L:G Velvet is Plugged in in download mode .. then execute this
that site has all info to downgrade the lg velvet from 11 to 10 then google frp android 10 afterwards enjoy
red 14 is thiere port number BTW ! so check your and replace
I succeeded in the downgrade with chimera frp done
Thank you so much for this guide, I followed it to the letter, the first time I had the wrong firmware and it didn't go any farther than P.P. 4 but the second time around it worked like a charm with the proper firmware this time.

Yea, which firmware did you use? Cuz I have an AT&T LM-G900UM and I have tried multiple LGUP editions and CMD line version but nothing works. Everytime it only makes it to like %4 then fails and says error 0x5319 OPID mismatch or Can't change device (NA1_US --> NA6_US).

I attempted to convert my t-mobile oneplus 9 to international firmware by first flashing the Indian firmware.
I mistakenly downloaded the oneplus 9 PRO Indian msm.
I didn't realize this as the file has a very similar name. Lemonade_22.I.07_210412 vs Lemonadep_22_I.07_210412
I've tried everything since then, with no success. I tried to flash the correct oneplus 9 indian msm but it says incorrect device.
So I'm stuck with the oneplus 9 pro Indian firmware and can't get back to indian oneplus 9 firmware....
I have been developing and flashing android devices since the early days of Cyanogenmod... dozens of devices. And guess what? I did EXACTLY the same thing as you.
The link I downloaded from said it was Oneplus 9 firmware, and given the filenames being virtually identical, I never noticed it was the Oneplus 9 PRO firmware.
So don't feel too bad. Even experienced people can make mistakes when trying to flash phones!
I am working on a solution, but so far no luck because:
1. Msm Tool will not flash the Oneplus 9 firmware as it thinks it is the incorrect device (why did it let us flash the incorrect device firmware before???)
2. The bootloader is re-locked and the OEM Unlocking feature is greyed out in Developer options, therefore fastboot can't be used to re-flash the correct firmware.
3. The System Update "local upgrade" feature does not find ZIP files in the root folder and will not allow us to browse to the correct file.
So for now, we are stuck. I think solving #3 will be the solution. If we can make the "local upgrade" work, we should be able to flash the stock firmware ZIP.
@Derek6091 @mightysween did you fix it yet? I had my device screw up so bad today that the only MSM I could use on my global unit was the Indian 9 Pro firmware and I have gotten my device mostly working.
You can see my drama with it and how I finally got it working here.
[SOLVED] Can anyone help me unbrick? I have tried lite firehose, MSM for global, MSM for Indian 9 Pro, none work
I modded the global MSM so that it will flash to this frankenphone. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/all-of-those-stuck-on-indian-firmware-rejoice-i-modded-the-global-msm.4442473/ EDIT: For anyone else trying this and getting unsupported...

I can get it working with 11.2.10.10 but not OOS 12, in OOS 12 the touchscreen doesn't work and it shows dual SIM icons so it's still doing something that makes it think it's a foreign variant. I ended up just going back to StagOS where I was before everything got mucked up.
Unfortunately the MSMs still see it as an Indian variant so I can only flash the Indian OP9P firmware to it, tried all the other MSMs and none work. I have been reading threads here and people claim they got it back to global but I tried all of the suggestions and none of them restored the device enough to where the global MSM Tool didn't see it as an Indian model and refuse to flash so I think we are stuck with this frankendevice.
@EtherealRemnant Yes I had to do oem unlock while on the Indian firmware. If your phone has the oem unlock greyed out, there's a guide on how to fix that with a simple command line.
Then I unlocked bootloader, flashed lineage recovery then a custom ROM. Haven't tried to get back to stock rom, and I don't think we can.... But I love this rom I'm currently on which is stagos.

You have to use the Oppo Decrypter tools. Decrypt the OPS file and open settings.xml. At the bottom of it there's a Target area. I just edited that to IN instead of O2 and re-packed it.

I tried it with the T-Mobile MSM but it still failed on "unsupported target". Did you only change the text value for O2 to IN, or did you need to change the numerical Target ID as well?
I am pretty content leaving this phone on StagOS anyway, but would be nice to figure out a way to return to T-Mobile stock after recovering from a brick.

Manually flashing partitions in Fastboot does work, FYI. So it is possible to go back to stock that way once the bootoader is re-unlocked.
I wonder where the "target" data is stored on the actual device. If it is simply a numerical/text value in an accessible partition, seems like it would be pretty easy to make a TWRP flashable that can change it.

Strange that it didn't work for you. That was indeed all I changed. Did you change it to what the unsupported target message said your device was? I was comparing the settings between India and global and besides the change of target ID, the target number on India was 3 instead of 1. No idea if that makes a difference though because I didn't try it.
You made sure to re-encrypt and replace the OPS, right?
Also yeah you can flash with fastboot, it doesn't fix that flag though and when I tried to go back to OOS 12 with the messed up flag it thought my device was a dual SIM device so there was no signal and the touchscreen didn't work. Happened twice. With the modified MSM I went back to global and am running OOS 12 right now.
