Aod turns off after 4 minutes - Samsung Gear S3

I bought a watch face off of the Facer app (rising phoenix) and see the aod to on and it stays on for about 4 minutes and then the screen goes black and needs a wrist gesture to wake it back up. I've set the facer aod from classic to dimmed and it happens on both. Any ideas?

does this happen with default watch faces? if no, then something is wrong with that watch face you're trying. normally even if you have the screen always on and you take off your watch and place it on a table it will turn off. if you have your watch loose on your wrist, it can also turn off. it checks for pulse, you can see the green light blinking on the back. if it doesn't sense it, it will turn off the screen. i use a metal wrist strap on the watch that is loose and i do notice it will turn off the screen sometimes. if i put it tighter around the wrist, it never turns off if the always on display is on. i have all the gestures and everything off with always on display on. if the watch is tight around the wrist it never turns off AOD, but a week later after made it more loose, it does turn off, kinda annoying, but oh well

screen dims few seconds before it shuts off.

Maybe its normal but I have smart stay on so if i am looking at the screen it dims but doesn't turn off. This happens even with auto brightness, power saving and auto adjust screen tone turned off. the browser also has auto brightness turned off. the only thing i can think is maybe there is a conflict with quick settings which also has auto brightness turned off. if i am not looking nat eh screen it dims and in a few seconds shuts off.
what mine does...
Same here. I even start blinking and moving my eyes to see if it will stay on. I know I've got to look like an idiot.
Currently not being productive on my S3.
I have been playing with smart stay as well, but I haven't seen that it keeps the screen on any longer ... maybe I just haven't had enough patience.
smart stay does keep my screen on but it does not prevent the screen from dimming. I think the phone automatically dims right before its about to shut off even if i have all dimming settings turned off. right before it shuts off smart stay keeps it on but only after the screen dims thus i am stuck with a dim screen.

when I get a notification, the screen doesn't lock

im using stock rom light manager for notifications, and have it checked so every notification lights up the screen.
the problem is when the screen starts dimming in a minute, just before locking and letting the LED kick in, it wakes the phone up back to a fully lit up lock screen...and the cycle always continues until I lock manually with finger.
any help????

Click to collapse
Check your settings in light manager, make sure there is no notifications pending in there, any you have say read from the lock screen which doesn't appear in my experience clear these as read. Once in a while I have to go in and cancel the notifications (lightflow) is what I use, although I just use to to illuminate the led's not the screen (otherwise my battery would be flat in half a day)

Any way to make watch only turn on with button press?

Hi. I was wondering if the watch can be set up to only turn on when a button is pressed. Right now, I have it set up to turn on when turning my wrist. This is good, but there are times that it comes on when doing other things.
Thanks.

There is an option in settings - device.. ?
From S5
Settings>Device> Wake-up gesture (off)
Perfect! Thanks a lot. For some reason, I thought that shutting this off would just always leave the watch on. Instead it stays on for something like ten seconds and then shuts itself off.
Excellent!
You can turn it off even quicker by just putting two fingers (as opposed to your whole hand) over the screen should you want to preserve as much batt as possible..

Always on display, not always on

I like the always on display, but when i have the phone connected with the charger, i noticed that during the night i don't see the time anymore after a few hours.
I can't find a setting to get the display always on.
Does somebody know a solution?
Solved:
Displays dies after a couple of hours when "not disturb" mode is on
when this mode is off and speakers are silenced, always on display stays on.
Also if can detect via the proximity sensor if the phone is face down or in a pocket or purse. It will turn off

Brightness all time

Hi I need lower brightens to my watch, I like all time on the screen but I need something for more lower brightness, I have all time the screen on but I go to bar or my bed and my hand is fire fly .
