Bought the Amazon Basics USB2.0 Type A to C - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Accessories

Its working great and build quality is awesome. Its the best and probably cheapest one that is properly certified by USB-IF and Google Engineer Mr. Leung.

What exactly do you need this for?

Looking for micro-USB to Type-C adapter that is compliant

Benson failed like all of them so I don't know if there's one that actually works. A little adapter that can leverage existing microusb cables.
Yes, It sure would be nice to see the first certified adapter.
Curious too.
I contacted TechMatte after purchasing 2x of them for $9.99 off Amazon. They said new compliant micro usb to usbc adapters are coming.. I asked for an ETA and haven't gotten a response yet.

Yea I'm leaving a negative review and suggest anyone else to do the same until they make good on their word and actually produce a properly spec'd adapter.

Best Type-C Cable run down (video)

Hi All,
Just found this video online of a rundown of the top Type-C Cables. Personally for me the Orzly ones are great just for the value for money that they give you. The F-color one is also good but I hardly use my micro usb port devices.

USB Type C Data Cable from Best Buy (or other local shop)

so, i'm seeing some posts about the wrong kind of USB-C cable frying devices. three questions.
1 can anyone recommend a good USB-C to A cable for data? my computer doesn't have c, and i want to be able to access adb and root and all that jazz.
2 are there any cables that allow charging safely? i hate proprietary chargers, and the one they provided is way to short. Answered
3 i see everyone ordering from amazon, but I live down the street from best buy. i'd rather just go buy one now. i don't want to go ask an empoyee because they may not know which cables work, so i'm asking here in case anyone has bought one from a big box store.
More than likely the only one you'll find at Best Buy is the Apple branded one, which works just fine but is over priced.
The only other USB C cables I've seen there have been various adapters.
I have a "j5create" brand USB A Host adapter from there that works just fine. Only reason is that I used to have an employee discount, otherwise almost every accesorry at that store is overpriced.

Play it safe and don't spend a lot of money. I recommend this USB A to C cable from Belkin F2CU032BT06, comes in various colors and it is USB-IF certified..
Best Buy has them for $20 but can be bought for about $10 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belkin-MIXIT...W/322397095951

Pixel 2 XL USB-C to 3.5mm Dongle replacement - Canada?

Anyone have a good replacement dongle that works? I can't find one with reasonable reviews on Amazon.ca
It may be easiest to order one from Google directly. It's about $10 Canadian with shipping included.
Not all USB C Audio dongles will work with the pixel 2 as a dongle can't take audio directly from the wires in the USB port and connect them to your headphones. That's how many of the adapters work for other phones. There needs to be a small chip inside the adapter, a DAC (digital to audio converter, basically a little sound card), that talks to the pixel 2 and converts the audio information into electricity that powers your headphones. That may not sound so straightforward, but I guess simplicity isn't the game with the pixel 2 audio adapter. But there are benefits to this solution, as there are some downsides like it being a requirement.
If you search around the forums, there is a list of other audio adapters that work (I saw it in the regular pixel 2 forums), but getting one from Google is the simplest and pretty much least expensive option at the moment.
delete nvm sry.
Edit: I'd order direct from Google. It's so cheap compared to other options.
Having said that though, I'm convinced there is a sound difference with the HTC U11's adapter quality being better than the stock one. However, not worth the price difference here in Australia ($44 for the HTC vs $12 for the Google delivered).
