Always on heart rate displayed on pc - Samsung Gear S2

Hello,
Basically. My situation is that I'm a small twitch streamer and want a cheap way to display my heart rate on stream. My idea is to have my gear s2 be constantly capturing my heart rate and then either display it on my phone. Or preferably on like a locally hosted website that I can capture in OBS. Is there anything like this that already exists. Or would I have to attempt to make something like this myself? And how tricky would it be to create this as I have limited knowledge with developing for this watch.
Thanks,
Max

[Q] How to hook video INTO an android tablet?

Can anyone provide insights into how one might feed video into an android tablet / etc?
I'd like to play around with testing the 3D screen with different video feeds, and I'm thinking about using a tablet such as those found over at aliexpress.
I dont care about the 'computer' inside there even, ideally I'd be interfacing as directly to the display as possible. I just can't find much raw data about the hardware itself.

Live Video Feed from phone/pc to SmartWatch

I'm looking for some solution to get a live video feed from a phone, or better from a distant PC or IP-cam via phone. Anyone know how to do this?
I've seen the app (Watcher - SmartWatch Camera). Have anyone used it and does it work well? I have not tried it since I don't have a SmartWatch. This is the deal maker/breaker, so I'll only buy it if this works.
So if it does work, how could I get the IP-cam-feed bridged from internet to my mobile and then to my watch? Right now I'm using IP Webcam to put a feed from my phones camera on to the local net, which works great, but I have no idea how to get this video fed from phone to watch which uses Bluetooth...
The developer of the "Watcher" app has another app called "Android Script" which allows you to write your own Sony SmartWatch apps using JavaScript... you might be able to do what you want that way.
Also, the app works really well on my S3. The range is surprisingly good too... I can watch video from anywhere in my house when the phone is in my lounge.

SmartWatch WebCam Viewer is what you're looking for. I have it pulling a feed from a Foscam I have. Unfortunately it does not appear to support multiple cams so I had to pick the most important from the set of cams I have.
The res on the watch is low, and it is dark to begin with, so viewing a 1080p feed full of light and dark spots due to shade is not that great. But it definitely works. You can adjust the image refresh rate as well. You will most likely need to figure out the URL for the still image for your cam. I already had mine as I needed them for my home automation system. As with everything else with this watch, go into understanding the constraints and benefits it provides and you will be happy.

[Q] Android Mini PC to drive Wall Mounted Photo Frame

I am hoping that as a newbie, someone might give some advice into a Wall Mounted Photo Frame that I have been thinking about.
My purpose is to display mostly High Resolution Animated Gif Art and Cinemagraphs. No Photo Frames can do this.
My idea is to place a 23” or 24” ultra thin monitor into a picture frame and mount it on a wall. The monitor will be powered by an Android Mini PC such as the Android mini PC RK3066 or something similar.
I was going to plug the unit into the HDMI port on the monitor.
I currently use the Quick Pic App on my Asus Tablet to view animate Gifs as a slide show. If someone knows another app please let me know.
In order to make the frame on the wall more esthetic looking, I was going to use a monitor with an external power supply so only one small wire comes down the wall. The power supply will be a brick on the floor. To power the Android Mini PC, I was going to use a power splitter and a stepdown 12v – 5v 3a converter.
To store my images on the unit, I want to use a 32 gig SD card and move them in via wifi. I also want to utilize a Bluetooth key board or wifi in case I want to bring image in from the net.
Does anyone have any experience in this area? Also is it possible to boot right into the app so when I turn it on it will begin to display right away without a pointing device to get it going?
Or even better is there another way to approach this project?
Looking forward to hearing from all.

The is a free Android app called "Startup Manager" which i use to block certain apps starting up on boot but am sure it has options to force start apps on boot.
ive read the people use it to boot straight into XBMC so might work for your Asus app

Hi,
In my opinion and from a longer term prespective, the features you are looking for can be achieved much better with an open source digital signage such as xibo.org.uk. In addition to playing animated gif's and images you can play videos, webpages, scrolling text, RSS and scheduling content and much more compared to a simple slideshow app.
Xibo is a client server app so technically, you will need to have two separate machines, one for XIBO CMS (server) and XIBO Android player app each. Xibo for Android app from springsignage.com is only $15.
However, I (and not many have done so) being an experienced xibo user was able to successfully install and test both xibo CMS (server) and XIBO android app on same TV stick/box and then control the CMS over network (wi-fi/internet/LAN) etc to manage and schedule content for the player app.
You can get started really quickly with free and fast help from xibo community forum members.
However,If you want a set up like the one I did with xibo CMS and player app on same tv stick with auto launch of server (CMS) and app on device startup and many other technical hurdles/setup details then we can discuss this further for a bounty.
Pls send me a private message (PM) if you want my paid service so that we can discuss this further and I am confident, I can setup you up for a long term solution.
Thanks and best of luck with xibo.

btech.

Heart Rate Monitor on phone (or on PC)

Hello,
I'm looking for any possibility to run a real time monitoring of my heart rate with the galaxy Gear 2 (SM-R381) showing on my PC or a Samsung Smartphone.
The goal is having real time pulse monitor on my twitch channel.
Any solution ?

I just rebuilt my TV companion app. TV Towers.

Hey XDA,
I wrote this TV companion application a few years ago. It needed a major refactor and I finally got around to it. It's a free app with limited ads. The rating is terrible right now as it has been broken for a few months. I hope the new updates encourage more positive reviews.
The application works for different use cases: Use it with your big box TV or watch live TV in the app
Let me go over some of the features in more detail:
-A live map and compass guide to the best direction to point your TV antenna based on your location.
All TV station information: Channel Name, Channel Number, Channel Frequency, and more.
Station broadcast overlay: Allows you to see exactly where the station can reach.
Built in TV Remote (for devices with a built in IR Blaster).
Watch live local News streams from any city in the USA.(FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, CW)
Watch nearly any live stream: Live Cable TV, Live OTA Broadcast TV, Live Sports. (Even works with major cable providers like Comcast and AT&T)
The last 2 are what make the application unique. TV Towers uses a custom video player which makes it all possible. It's the secrete sauce to what makes the app special. You can literally use the app to watch live ESPN sports broadcasts using picture in picture mode while you browse XDA The app really is powerful.
That being said, there are a ton of different manufacturers for Android with multiple different form factors and OS flavors. I only have 2 devices and a basic emulator... If you spot a bug or something that does not look right please leave a comment here so we can collaborate on how to correct it. I love writing code and solving problems. If you have an idea or something you would like to see in the application then please let me know!
I put a lot of hard work into this app. If you like it please consider leaving a review. If you don't like it.. Please let me know why so I can make it better for you.
