Bootloader/OTA - Motorola One Vision Questions & Answers

Good evening,
I have a couple of doubts, let's see if you can clarify them.
I will try to unlock the bootloader:
1.-Can I update via OTA with the bootloader unlocked?.
2.-If yes, will I have to unlock the bootloader once updated?
Thanks and regards

Good Morning,
I have unlocked the bootloader and when I try to find a firmware update, I can't.
I add a screenshot of what appears to me when I try.

Unfortunally the first answer you got was wrong.
You can't take ota with unlocked bl. I had this "warning" too when I was unlocked before we had root.
If you're rooted with Magisk, it will hide the bootloader unlock status so that it checks for updates but it will probably fail on install.
Easiest is to just flash manually in fastboot if you're unlocked. That's what I do.

You will most likely lose root and TWRP, but your bootloader should remain unlocked.
thanks guys, last question there is some risk to unlock the bootloader ?

If you're worried about bricking the device, the risk is very low. All you are doing is simply typing "fastboot oem unlock". It isnt meant to be anything dangerous or risky.
In terms of security however, there are some risks. If your bootloader is unlocked, a thief can easily flash a recovery and pull your potentially important and private information/data. Although the likelihood of the thief knowing how to do this is very low.
Sir will this guide also work for Oneplusone on cm13-Incremental-OTA-Official?
searching everywhere but couldn't find any guide to unlock bootloader on official Cos13.If anybody has successfully unlocked his bootloader on official cm13 then kindly guide the same to me.
Thank You.

[Q] Updating from D83810c TO D83810d

Hi all.
My LG G Pro 2 HK (Hong Kong) version, is prompting me to update system software from 83810c to 83810d.
I'm successfully rooted with towelroot now.
If I proceed with the update I get lose the root?? If yes, could I root again easily with towelroot the 83810d HK version??
Thanks in advance.
Saluti a tutti!!
Yes you can root this Version,i have 10f rooted with Towelroot,Taiwan Version.
But you must go back to Stock, you can't update with root,The update will abort if it is rooted.
Go back to stock, make all Updates or flash 10d KDZ and root again.

Please, check right your information next time.

Make a Factory reset and you lose root!
Normal is,make a factory reset after update, system runs better!
Make a Ota update with root, the phone says,is rooted and the update aborted, this is what i mean.

I don't know if doing a factory reset I will lose root. I don't think so but, hey, I've not verified, so... maybe.
System running better than now is impossible. This is THE smartphone.
In fact, I've done a successfully OTA update WITH ROOT, and root have been preserved, this is what I mean.
Regards.

Should I re-lock the bootloader?

Hi everyone,
I have D6603 with with Android 5.1.1 (23.4.A.0.546) with an unlocked bootloader (done per instructions on Sony's website).
For a while now I've noticed that the device overheats when I use the camera for a few minutes. According to this article,
the new update Sony have released, is supposed to mitigate the problem.
I cannot update my phone to the new Android version, because of the unlocked bootloader.
Can/should I re-lock the bootloader? Or is there a way to stop the overheating issue?

Thanks for the info Beetle. May I be so rude to ask you, where I can get the most up to date flashable ROM?
I did unlock the bootloader, but never managed to install a recovery mod or get root.

In flashtool theres a button labelled xperifirm, if you click that and follow the instructions you can download a ftf directly.
As for root and recovery, you can use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056 , and then create a pre rooted 5.1.1 firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
Or you can install androplus kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/kernel-andropluskernel-t2925999 after you upgrade to stock 5.1.1 with fastboot, and skip the whole downgrade to kit kat which would be alot quicker.
Wow, that seems easy enough. I'll try it later tonight. Thanks again!

No worries, good luck. You may have to disable virus protection to download xz dual recovery installer, well, I have to anyway, my VP doesnt like the install.bat file.
EDIT: isn't the .546 the latest?
Not sure... My phone tells me there is a system update, but it always fails because of the unlocked bootloader.

Xperia Z5 Bootloader unlocking not allowed after having unlocked it once before?

When I got my phone, the unlocking status was unlock allowed: yes
I unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom rom from androplus that had supersu.
after the rom was installed the unlocking status is unlock allowed: no
now I have a nagging notification to update android on my phone and it can't because I'm running a custom rom, and I can't update the rom because the bootloader is locked. what do I do?

So, basically you unlocked your bootloader to flash a custom rom and now you want to receive official ota updates from Sony?
If so, you have to stay in stock roms (flash with flashtool in flashmode or Xperia Compation in repair option) otherwise you need to wait for developer of custom rom you installed for an update.

no not quite, as I said I want to update the custom rom, but I can't flash another rom because my bootloader has been locked and I can't unlock it again.
the escape plan would be to flash stock rom back onto it, but I'd like to keep supersu if possible.

no, the site that provides the guide and key to unlock the bootloader specifically says I can't unlock it if the status says unlocked allowed: no
are you saying I should try anyway? other forums says there is no way around it if unlocked allowed is no.
the reason I haven't tried is the threat of having my data wiped without actually unlocking it

Best way to hide unlocked bootloader?

I want to have a unlocked bootloader. Don't really need root. I'm guessing device still fails safety net if unlocked? Is custom kernel the easiest way or is there another method. Haven't played around for a year.

There is no way to remove it unless you keep the bootloader locked. Sorry man.
I unlocked my bootloader, rooted the device and then decided to re-flash stock since my work apps won't work saying it is rooted. Magisk would not really hide the root from the apps. I left the bootloader unlocked and I see no difference from before I unlocked it. I do not pretend to know anything about safety net
