Hi forum! I absolutely love this phone, best phone ever... one thing that I don't like is game mode, and the endless notifications when starting any game.... Is there a APK for game mode I can disable? Or anyway it can be disabled? The only games I play are solitaire and other board games... Thank you for any help you can give
Thats what game mode is for so you can disable what you want while playing a game.
You don't want to be in a gun fight, and notification shade comes down over your target.
I just need to take more games out of game space.

The G1 is still kicking, we all know its a pretty old phone, but i am still using it, since it runs Froyo and pretty fast.
A lot of games i download from the market, doesn't run on my G1, but if it does, it will lag as hell. The G1 does have a decent graphics capability, but certainly not good for a lot of new games and games that need a lot of resource.
Here we go, the top 5 games i play on my G1.
1. Air Control

2. Doodle Jump

3. Xconstruction
Build railway tracks with the given material and run the train across the bridge. The game is extremely good.
4. Bonsai Blast
Experience the Zen of gaming nirvana with this addictive puzzle game. Shoot marbles to match 3 or more and create combos to cause a chain reaction.
5. Snesoid Emulator
You can simply forget about all the above games, if you get this emulator, i have this installed on my G1 and i download free roms from sites like RomNation and CoolRoms and play all the classic Super Nintendo games. I currently have 157 nintendo games on my G1, and there are 1000s more to download. The best part is these games has less file size. This app will work great on the G1 since, you can config the keyboard like a controller(joystick) and play without touching the screen.
If you want to try NES games, you can get Nesoid App from the market.
I will keep updating this posts with more games, you can list your favorites below, i will try them and add to the list.

I love my G1 - but games are out of the question. In fact now I can't install ANY apps, even after a factory reset.
I don't know why this is because I used to have over ten....now I'm getting a low memory warning with nothing....no pictures, no music ZERO.
Now I think something is wrong somewhere...I don't think the reset I'm doing is actually wiping what I need to wipe and it's all hanging about somewhere.
What I need to know is - if I install a different ROM will I get my memory back? And how can I do a deaper wipe of the Internal storage? Clearly you have apps on your phone...an I don't want to buy a new phone until ICS has acclimatised.

I jest, I jest... this game is awesome... even moreso now that it's been lifted from the virtual gamepad ghetto to a place where we have REAL game controls.
I tried using the controls the other day but the attack function wasn't working Do you have success with this?
Edit: Actually it works on this game... Gun Bros attack doesn't do jack from the gamepad... Alas both games are very similar... just swords vs. guns.

Yeah, before the optimization, it actually did work with Xperia PLAY controls, but it wasn't complete... so tapping parts of the right analog controlled attacking instead of the face buttons.
Now it works with the face buttons the way people would think it should (X for Attack, Square for special, etc).
As for Gun Bros... that's been Xperia PLAY Optimized for a long time, so it's weird if you have issues with it. That's a straight up two-stick arcade shooter, controlling just like Age of Zombies.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if I have a d pad and the character is supposed to move, why can't he move with the damned d pad???? And why can't I set up the controls? The pseudo analogs are absolutely useless for moving the character!

i'm sorry to put this thread back up again... but did anyone find a solution to the ram problem? I mean, the fact that there is an "offline notification manager" and a pushservice running in the background even after you exit the game.

For those who don't known how to use shooter mode in monect.
NOTE: This is not a easier way of playing shooting game than mouse and keyboard combination, but a more realistic way.

Otherwise 4.5 star game, fast forward is nice addition and the card system makes game more exciting, if you werent tossed to a level where even a superfreak ab fan couldnt pass (playing freely of course) at first or even second try with so limited lives :laugh:

yep, i have played the game in pc version, and then from apknite for the mobile game, and putting them in comparison. android game of the angry birds is not so well in physics, and the control system. pretty disappointed
on scale from 1 to 10 how would you rate it or recommend it? cuz i didnt even like the first one, is sequel better?
This game just won't stay open when multitasking. Is it the phone, or jusr the way the game is made?
A big part of the game is server-sided. It has to reload every time you open the game so that it gets the new settings and updates from Supercell servers. It's just how the game works.
