Help me to update my Xperia xz SoftBank. - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

How I get update software for my phone Xperia xz SoftBank? It still on android Marshmello

You can use Xperia Companion to update XZ Softbank. I use XZ softbank too and I have tried update via Xperia Companion and its working just plug your XZ to your PC or laptop then open Xperia Companion, just wait a few second then it will tell you there is an update.... or you can just flash FTF firmware... but in global firmware you can update it via OTA.

Xperia E (Single Sim)

Hi All,
I have a few question and would be graeful if somebody can clear them for me.
1)The unofficial flashtool available requires drives and it seems there are no drivers or plugins available for flashing the Xperia E, can somebody guide me on how do i get the flashtool to work correctly?
2)EMMA the official flash tool of sony requires a login id and password, i have tried registering many times with different emals but i never get the confirmation mail sent...any idea why this is happening
3)Where can I find the stock roms? Sonydeveloper site has very few availabl
Drivers for e? Are you able to install adb 1st? And s1boot flashmode drivers? Use universal adb first, then use pdanet. Flashmode will not install on xp, it just hangs there.
E stock? Better to search google. Sony dev have less firmware to choose. Or find a way to backup your phone firmware into .ftf.

i figured it, the reason you cannot update is because there's no 11.3.A.2.13 update released for the stock version you have flashed.
if you have a copy of your old build.prop before you flashed that rom, you can use it to trick the pc companion into thinking you're in another region and allowing the update

impossible if there's no 11.3.a.2.13 on my stock rom because i saw that in setting - about phone build number has change to 11.3.a.2.13, then i downgrade again using flashtool because i wanted rooting my phone. now i can't upgrade again to my unrooted phone using PC Companion or Sony Update Service

[Q] New update. What is it?

Got a notification from PC companion that there's a new update available. Not available over OTA though. I doesn't say what it's updating either. Does anyone know? Xperia Z3 D6603 in Sweden. I got prerooted .77 and on Sonys website they say it's the latest.
Start the update process on pc companion and it will tell you what version it will install before doing anything at all

Can't update.

Hello, I have recently bought a refurbished D6603 which is in great working order, but it does not update from android 4.4.4, which is really outdated and boring, I found out the bootloader is unlocked, I wanted to relock it using flashtool but Emma (flashtool) says "The identification process failed".
I have tried multiple cables and computers to no avail. How do I update the phone to marshmallow or nougat? Xperia Companion says I already have the latest version, and trying to repair the software it results in an error. Very weird
Why is it not identified?
Why can't I update?
Why does Xperia Companion error when I try to repair software?
Why does Xperia Companion say I have the latest version?

Xperia XA2 Plus H4493 device name changed after update via PC Companion

Hi all,
My phone is Sony Xperia Plus H4493, and pre installed build number 50.1.A.11.40 (Oreo) HK firmware. Recently I notified an update via PC Companion, to the version 50.1.A.13.83 and installed it via PC Companion. But after this update, PC Companion is detecting my phone as "Sony H34", instead of "Sony Xperia XA2 Plus". Before installing that update, PC Companion correctly detected it as "Sony Xperia XA2 Plus", but not anymore. I even did software repair via PC Companion but no help. It still detects as "Sony H34". Phone is on original settings with Locked Bootloader.
Can anyone say why this happening? Why Xperia XA2 Plus became to H34 ?
Regards,
Have you tried to rename in build.prop? Might be able to google the build\device info and copy and past it into the build.prop..

Alas, it would be impossible without rooting the phone first.
