ROM update, ARB index mismatch and not working 5Ghz channels - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I just bought my RN7P, as soon as it turned on i connected succesfully to my 5Ghz wifi (Lower channels <48) after that phone asked mee to download update and in rush i agreed. It downloaded new ROM

After that it connected only to 2,4Ghz wifi. Curious about that issue i downladed band scanner to search for some 5G wifis and it detected only ones with 100+ channel. Turned out that its ROM related so after quite digging for info i learned about ARB, Bootloader etc.
So my RN7P have unlocked bootloader but "fastboot getvar anti" returns "anti: 1" so i need ROM with at least 1 arb. Pretty straight forward but after checking few ROMs (including same as installed) i could not find one with present arb, i looked for global and india versions (from xiaomifirmwareupdater.com , osdn.net/projects/xiaomifirmwareupdater/storage and xiaomi.eu) and all had no ARB present (checked that with miui_arb_checker python script) and at this point im so confused that i need someone smarter to explain it to me.
Does this script lies? or
"anti: 1" means it is disabled?
From where (or which version) can i download, to enable lower bands and have correct arb?
Is it a bug in software and will be patched sometime? (There is a lot of misinformation)
I kinda want to have lower channels of 5Ghz because all of my 4 routers can handle only that bands, also i did not check version before update which is irrevelant if i cant figure out whats wrong with that arb.
Thanks in advance for answer and sorry for my long and messy way of asking question :silly:

[Q] Available FOTA update disappeared in some days

About 1 week ago when I checked for update manually I got the message there is. (2 small ones and after a bigger one). Several people installed it (talked to them on internet). Some days later I wanted to install it and it says there is no available. I contacted HTC but I have not got any useful answer. T-mobile Hungary. Actual one: 1.28.401.1. The update would be: 1.47.401.4.
Could anyone help me what the problem could be?
This update was peace of s....We all have now broken WIFI, that is why it dissapeared...
Up to now none of the people who intalled the update and I am in contact has noticed WIFI problem. I asked again them about it.
In Poland, on T-mobile phones, all users have broken WIFI, HTC claims to repair it soon
2-3 people answered my question up to now. Nobody has problem. It is very strange.
I also got the update message, so I downloaded the update, but when installing it my phonescreen shows an error..
Update ( 1.47.401.4 (35.39)) is still there and ready to download/install on my phone.

Based on your posts above, it seems you guys haven't changed your ROMs to any Custom ones.. Just a quick question though, has anyone of you experienced the so-called Wi-Fi Death Grip? I trying to find ways to fix it. Please check here.
Now I got the info about the available update automatically. But I am not sure I should install it. Has the previous problem of update been solved?

Very weird problem about the emergency button in lock screen

Hi everyone,
The wired problem is every time I press that button, it won't show my emergency info but reboot my phone signal(signal bar will be empty with a "x" then come back automatically). It worked before, and I think this happened after I rooted my phone with Magisk.

Any ideas about this? Thanks in advance.
Basic phone info: stock Rom 8.1, stock kernel
Solved: Because of a misconfigured theme file.
I think the phone changes (or resets?) some network configs as part of enhanced emergency services in preparation for you to dial 911. I just checked and mine does it too although I don't know about previous phones or android versions. I'm inclined to think it's more of a feature than is apparent.

Might be, but when it was working, it would show my emergency contact info. Right now nothing happened only got this problem (and just found the left up corner also said no service no sim card), and also no dial panel to dial 911

How to change band radio

Hi everyone,
my used xperia xz have signal/network issue: when 4G is on and i receive a call the signal is so low that i have to move around or turn off lte to have a better experience; data signal is so low and laggy, sometime havent signal indoor etc... I bought a used device, originally come with UK firmware and this specs:
Android 8.0
Phone Software Version: 1302-9157_41.3.A.2.171
Global-LTE3A
Generic-41.3.a.2.171
S1 Boot version: 1299-4832 S1_BOOT_MSM8996_LA2.0_O_204
BASEBAND: 8996-8996.gwn.prodQ-00070-40
Customization version: 1305-7307R8E
After a guide of Kuarinfou to flash a firmware i flashed an italian firmware (cause i live in italy and i thinked to could solve it flashing an italian fw) but the signal/network issues are still there. I checked the service menu and I notice that:
- in the network preference's list there isnt the option "LTE/UMTS/GSM" but only LTE/UMTS or LTE/CDMA or LTE only or CDMA only and others combinations
- in the "select band radio" (the first option after clicking the three dots at the top) there are only 3 option: Automatic - America - Japan. NOT Europe!!!!
So I suppose this could be the reason of the issue. I suppose there is a network "limitation" about frequencies.
My questions are:
1) Could be that the reason of the issue?
2) Is there a way to change the band radio?
3) Is there a way to set on europe band and disable US or other bands?
I have read the post about how to modify lte carrier aggregation, could be the solution?
I will attach a screenshot for more info.
Hope in your experience and kindness.
Anyway, thanks you for the attention

How to see the devices that are connected to my hotspot in Android device?

So, I've been looking all over the internet for 2 years (approx.) from time to time for this query.
My device: I have a Motorola X(4) device which came with near stock Android.
My question: how can I see who is connected to my hotspot.
What have I tried so far: I see apps in playstore for scanning Wi-Fi and not what I want (which is to see devices connected to hotspot). I've search for web with no helpful answer, everyone seems to confuse about Wi-Fi scanner. I don't want a Wi-Fi scanner
In few answers I see people showing steps to do this, but I don't see the last option 'View Who is Connected' in my device. I have attached screenshots for reference.

Hi there,
Although motorola is close to stock Android, they have the annoying manner of removing very little, yet useful features like that. You're supposed to have a menu to see what device are connected, like me (I'm using OxygenOS, and even with their "overlay" they left the feature).
Unfortunately I don't know how to help you on this one. When I had a motorola (Moto E 2015 LTE) it didn't have the "enable wireless display" option for screen casting m. I've search a long time, and finally found out about that annoying manner motorola has. The solution was to modify one or two line in the build.prop file.
Hope you'll find out one day

Unlocking LTE Bands 4 and 17 on M2 aqua D2403?

Yes, the title sums up what I'm curious about.
Turns out I got an Xperia M2 Aqua with a broken display as a hand-me-down from a friend. I fixed it and it's working great! (check the pics if you'd like).
Spoiler: Pictures of the process
Back cover popped open:

It's alive!
It works and looks great!
... except for the lack of proper LTE bands for my carrier, specifically bands 4 and 17. So yeah, it's currently stuck on 3G/HSPA, which is fine for chatting and checking email, but can be a bother for more intensive tasks.
I know there's another model of the M2 aqua which properly supports such bands: the D2406. Would cross-flashing the modem/baseband from that model do anything?
I actually thought about doing a motherboard swap but I would have to dumpster-dive the local phone repair market to get a motherboard from that specific model (or buy one online), and I can no longer justify the cost, time and effort haha.
I remember reading some LTE band unlocking tutorials for qcomm phones which used the USB diagnostics mode and QXDM or QPST for altering raw values. It seems very risky, that's why I'd rather ask if someone here has had a positive experience in this area, and if so, I'd ask for guidance or advice on the matter.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
