Did you install 7.1.015 alpha? I installed version 7 when it was first released for the pixel 2, only for the astrophotography and it wasn't there, would be great if it was ported to the pixel 2 now.

Yes, used 7.1.015alpha1.1.apk... There is no new "option" for astrophotography. Just selected nigh mode, select focus to infinity... Then you have to let phone without any move and if everything is ok you will see only "popup" message on top of display, that astrophotography mode is activated.
Taking photo takes over one minute, so maybe it was a plane, but I am pretty sure that I have proof of UFO train

Google Camera Port Optimal Settings

As many have heard or experienced, the stock Razer camera sucks. The Google Camera Port is awesome but does anyone know the optimal setting for the Razer phone? Those options are complex and I have no idea about really any of them.

I haven't tried that TBH. I just use the internal storage.
Here you go
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/....20_7.0H_C2API_v.4.0_AllinOne_Full_Manual.apk
That apk based off google camera 4.4 modified by B-S-G .
I had issues with recent 5.x update so do recomend just stick with 4.4
does it make any difference at all between the stock and this google camera?
it's the only thing keeping me from buying this awesome phone , that is the camera of course.
cheers !

Hey guys, I installed the Pixel camera app and immediately I noticed an improvement. The Razer camera seems to have a lag to it when moving it to different objects to take a photo. The Google app eliminated that. It's very smooth. Also, I noticed using the Google apk the photos don't look as grainy.
I can't wait for Razer to make improvements to the camera. It has potential. I will continue to experiment with this Google apk.

Hey guys, here's that link to the video comparison if you want to see it.
Google pixel camera apk on Razer phone.
Proves Razer's camera has potential!
The video compares the camera of the Pixel 2 XL to the camera of the Razer.
The video does not show the Razer phone using two different apps.

My friend, watch it again. He specifically says it's the Razer phone using the Pixel 2 XL ported camera app.
I think I actually prefer razer cam, the colour have a better depth and overall contrast - still dreaming of root and camera2 api for RAW capability, this phone will be a dream when that day comes!

When the lumia 1520 came out it was so horrible I stopped using the camera. Took a few months but they fixed the app, camera is still amazing even with the new phones coming out.
This is one area they're focusing on, they remarked they wanted to at least get basic functionality down, which you have to give them props on, Jan-Nov and they get a concept to market, and it doesn't suck. lol
Coming from years of Sony phones I have to say this is quite the piece of kit. Thoroughly enjoying audio and video. The camera is quite bad but I can wait for a fix.
Cool, right off the bat I can take pictures of text on my monitor without it going fuzzy like the pre-update camera app. Anyone care to try post-update razer camera app to take a pic of a website on their monitor? Does it go fuzzy?
i need the pixel camera to save to external sd card - is there a modded apk which offers this option?
obviously the reason it doesnt have that option off the bat is because the pixel does not have a micro sd slot

Can you take some more portrait mode picture samples? This are not very good compositions.
The Coke can does not have enough depth in the background and the wall is just plain. Try something else and line it up straight instead of top-down.
Thanks!

Some people cannot be pleased, no matter what.
These photos are great and just fine, but if you're the sort of person hell bent of crapping on the PH-1 no matter what, then nothing from this phone's camera is going to placate you.
It's really getting boring at this time, all the hee-haw about the camera..

from what i gathered yes but the lighting control is sort of a manual exposure control. used it with the moto x pure and it came out fantastic
To me these photos look plenty good. I am comparing them with the likes of note 7 and op3.

GCAM

This works fabulously on my Huawei P20 Pro
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-TlnNeun_Urnyx05-v3.6.apk
Portait, Night Sight and Photobooth don't work though. This I expected.
I've had a quick play and there's no issues taking pictures.
Thanks a lot for the link, been looking for a gcam port. Appreciate it.
what settings did you enter?
I cant seem to get the viewfinder to work. Do you what settings are required?
Still no HDR+.
Does not work for me, black screen in photo mode.

Which configuration have you set up? I´m trying it and black screen on EMUI 9
This is what I'm using and it's working pretty well for me so far.
Using EMUI 9 here.
that worked, thanks.
Set to "Pixel2018 HW Zsl Hdr(need YUV)" and no black screen. ?
It work but still no HDR+
It works but still no Night or portrait mode. Any config idea?
No ideas at the moment.
Been wondering myself if there's a way to get them to work.
Fabulous, yes HDR+ doesn't work but finally its the end of the Huawei heavy post-process, I tried and love the softness of pictures, ability to choose the quality of pictures, noise reduction etc...
Btw "normal" Panorama (not 360) is super laggy, but works.
Big thanks for the share, I was really waiting for it!

TMobile Camera Update

Hi,
Decided to check for updates manually today and was surprised to find that the new update was finally available for this phone that includes the camera update!
I installed it but haven't noticed much of a difference. I'm not complaining, as I liked the camera from the start.
However, one thing I did notice with this phone is that when you take a pic at full 48mp, if you zoom in, there are artifacts in the image. The problem is that it seems this new update made 48mp pics significantly worse! Have you guys noticed this? The same aluminum/bar-like artifacts are there but the images themselves are significantly degraded in quality.
Let me know if guys experience the same or if maybe I'm doing something wrong when taking full, uncompressed 48mp pics in pro mode.
Thanks!

I had to get a new OP7Pro due to the back glass cracking on my first one. Since receiving the new one, I haven't installed the TMobile 9.5.6GM31CB update seeing as it does nothing for our device. If someone else confirms that this latest update messes up the photo quality, I will continue to hold off on updating until it is resolved.
Thanks for reply. The other strange thing is that when checking for updates, it still shows the same security update from April and not this latest update, even though I got confirmation it installed successfully. Very strange.

The international version which I switched to is so on 9.5.7 and only has the April security patch so the T-Mobile version is as current as the international version.

So the 48MP mode that you are referring to is the Pro mode, and 48MP JPEG, correct? If that's the only thing that takes a hit, I may update from 9.54. I never navigate to that mode to take a photo so this may not be a bad thing for me personally.

I think you need to get closer, works for me great outdoors, when I get too close the image blurs but macro mode keeps it in focus
This latest update takes way better portrait pics.
Recent update is definitely an improvement for me...
I just tried this version and Nightscape just basically stopped working.
Don't normally update that quickly but tried this one because of the new macro mode and I have to agree the standard lens software is better now. Depth of field, colors all better. Also portrait mode seems a bit better also. They just need more contrast and take the exposure down a bit IMO. Everything else seems to be working fine. Thanks for posting!
