Google Recorder - OnePlus 7 Pro Themes, Apps, and Mods

Pixel 4 has just been announced and the recorder app is out.
Here are the main features of the app.
-Audio transcriptions
-Audio search
-Location tagging
-Save to Google Drive
Not Working
-Audio transcriptions aren't being saved but you can still do search, but only the audio recording shows up.
-Call recorded audio won't show up on the app.

Yeah I'm loving it

I installed it and I have a ton of call recordings from using op built-in call recording and none show up there
Sent from my OnePlus7Pro using XDA Labs

Still on Pie.
Installs fine, records my voice, shows live transcript, saves fine and plays it back, but the transcript isn't saving

Works great. Just the transcripts are not saved for some reason. Also if you search a keyword, it gets to it in the recorded sound but no transcripts.

Working for me but the transcription doesn't save after I've saved the recording. So I'll record, click on transcription, save but then when I click on the audio then click on transcription, it says no transcription.

Live transcription is working smoothly for me, but after saving i can't recover the transcript i can only access the saved audio only

Thanks for the feedback. So anyways, call recorded audio is not being recognized by the app and transcriptions are not being saved. It might be a Google Pixel 4 exclusive since they added a chip just for offline transcriptions and stuff (not sure on that).
Anyway, I'll put your feedback of bugs or I might say incompatibilities on the first post. Thanks.

There isn't BUT if I knew where the recording app held it's recordings I could set up tasker to auto copy/paste the files from my oos call recording to the folder where Google holds those files and boom maybe it will work that way

hey do you think you guys could recompile this for an lg g7 or v30. Mine runs on Oreo (v30) and i had issues trying to update it. So could you guys please get this to work for android oreo phones like you have with Google Camera?

Google Recorder 1.0.273
Pixel 4 Recorder works on OP6t without saving transcript, only audio is saved and can search for words in the audio file. But this version works flawless on Huawei Mediapad M5 Pro with transcript file! Is it a hardware thing?

works on a kirin 960 but not a snapdragon 855...or 845. That does seem a bit odd. That would make it seem less like a hardware issue the no?

Latest version fc. Only this version works.

Only english supported?

Can someone please make an android oreo version of this:crying:

The newer version (1.0.273860567) checks for a feature and exits if it is not present. Specifically, it checks for
Java:
getPackageManager().hasSystemFeature("com.google.android.feature.PIXEL_2019_EXPERIENCE")
. If it returns false, it'll
Java:
throw new IllegalStateException("Cannot start Recorder on unsupported device");
, which should be the reason that it crashes on other devices.

Just deleting these lines that check this and recompile the apk may work. I haven't had a chance to do that yet. If anyone's interested, the lines of codes of interest are in src/main/java/com/android/apps/recorder/p003ui/application/RecorderApplication.java, lines 52, 95, 96. I exported the apk to Gradle using jadx, so your lines may not be the same as mine.
Edit: recompiled the apk using apktool. After getting rid off relevant code the new version works. Nothing much different from the previous version other than the device check. Still no transcript after saving.

[Q] Anyone know a good app to record phone calls?

On my N1, I used vrecorder and when I had the phone call on speaker phone it recorded fine. The widget worked well. Vrecorder does not show up in the market for me with the NS. Anyone know a good app to use? Everything I tried does not work.
Anyone?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
vrecorder must be a protected app. It should show once Google fixes the Market to recognize our phones.
Meanwhile, if you're rooted, there are ways to change the build.prop file to make them show for you. I'll leave that for other threads, where it's well explained and easily found with the search.
I don't have a specific app recommendation for you, though.
Vrecorder shows up in the market now. It doesn't record calls good though. I think the Nexus One recorder calls better while on speaker phone because there was a second Michael near the speaker. While on speaker phone with the Nexus S and recording, you can't hear the other end when you play the recording.

Automatic Call Recorder: 10/10 best Android call recorder app!

Just wanted to give my review for the Automatic Call Recorder App which I have been using for a while now and absolutely love it!
So the app loads as soon as you make an outgoing call or accept an incoming call. You have multiple file formats to save the calls from mp3 to 3gp there's a good few more options. The UI is very simple to use and you can track back over a lot of phone calls. I recommend to use at least a 32gb memory so you can as calls that happened a while ago. If you want to hear a particular call, just find it from the call log in the app and simply press the play button. The sound quality is great and there has never been any distortion on playback. If you wanted to share the call recording then you are able to with a simple one click on the share button. I have installed this app on all my family members phones and they love it too. The "recent calls" and "frequent calls" drop down so you can easily see the list of the call logs made. There are a lot of additional features in the settings and all user friendly for anyone to get set up on. The "Memory Info" shows how much free memory you have left and converts this into how long you can record based on the free space left so there is no hidden tabs you need to go to in order to find out the important information. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to have their phone calls recorded, well worth the money and very stable - not once has the app ever crashed on me. 10/10 rating.
Here is a link to the app from the market store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord

Not work me correctly
Hi, I have a P8 lite with the version of android 6.0.1 (b574 stock) and the application does not work me correctly, it almost does not listen and it does not record all the calls. When I had Lollipop 5.0.1 it worked very well and a very good sound.
What can I do to make it work just as well as before, but in 6.0.1?
I need help please. Thank you very much.

With ACR I think you can only exclude certain callers from being recorded, rather excluding every call except ones that you specify

Call recorder

Anyone with suggestions for a call recorder, thought that may have had one built in (was amazed when Mate 20 Pro added that option from their Dialler) I think coloros 6 had one but doesn't appear to be in 7.1
I have the chinese version with native call recoreder function os7.1
Update: Cube ACR appears to work, to a point. Need to set it as Voice Recognition (software) and improve the clarity. Only issue with this is that outgoing recording is quite loud compared to incoming recording

Hi everyone,

@amicom that's because of the region code, unconsenting call recording is illegal in Germany and some other European countries, thus such apps are being blocked depending on the region code. However changing the region code is easy, there is a guide for that in the guides section. You will not even need to install any additional apps, by changing region the built-in call recorder will become available automatically.
It's available on the Chinese model by default and as @Craphead says, certain regions.
I switched my European phone to Singapore (for multiple reasons, ColorOS 11, theme store, call recording, etc). Even if you do that it didn't show up right away for me, I had to go into the Recorder app first, allow permissions, then go back into the phone app and it was there. In the phone app look under settings > Call recording.
Skyvalex doesn't work for me either

Can someone please port Oxygen OS's stock Phone and messaging app for Nord?

I mean google's phone and messaging apps are not bad but OOS's app are better in my opinion. The call recording feature without telling the other person is really important for me as I have many conference calls and have to take notes from it. Also the messaging app is no much optimised for Indian region that it shows tickets and OTPs in a better format.
Please port the stock app from Oneplus 8!

I have installed joneplus tools, and run the needed adb commands. It's not functioning with the build in Google dialer app because that doesn't support call recording. After that I have tride to download the stock Oxygen dialer from apk mania, the app will not run on the Nord. I don't have any other ideas.
I have been looking all over for another solution. I found one call recorder app that somewhat runs. The voice quality is verry low, some parts off it are of verry low quality. And if you are using a Bluetooth headset it only records your own voice.

I have given BCR a shot, because it keeps being updated. Should be better than the Skvalex one that charges $9.99 pre-tax.
But BCR 1.37 didn't work for me. The app appears to be crashing all the time without ever opening. I don't see the app called BCR or a short cut to it on the home screen upon restarting. There is one icon called com.chiller... that upon clicking, appears to show BCR but soon disappear. Could the February play system update have done something to my Magisk 25209, because I have forgot to install it to the inactive slot? All other modules appear to be fine.
The Google Dialer Mod's silencing alert is very difficult to be enabled. Maybe it's me. We need better options.

The LSPosed version appears to be much easier, though maybe the app should be updated more frequently. For example, the author doesn't respond to issues. Plus, it would be great, if the app could also enable recording on Wechat, Signal, Whatsapp, etc. There is so much potential untapped here.

I had always been interested in implementing call recording, but would have to use an app or module because I live in the US, but I had thought -- in the limited of research I did on the subject -- that the "standard" or most established module was skvalax; is this no longer the case? or is BCR superior? Or is skvalax not one that integrates into the native phone app -- although I thought it does as I believe its what Pixelify uses to enable call recording in territories where its locked down...?
