Just a topic to advise any possible UK buyers who are considering to have this phone. I've managed to install Google services with some guide in this forum . Most of apps working, of course I'm prepared for some Google framework function not work, i.e. Google assistance (voice control ), Google pay with contactless etc. But some key apps not working can rely put me off:
*Barclays UK mobile Banking app: not supported on Play Market, tried to manual install the app with APK files , tried current and various previous versions, none of them worked. So if you rely on mobile banking a lot with Barclays bank, please be alerted. I can't use web version on the phone as the mobile app needs to be supported to generate log in code.
Less urgent case that I can use browser to bear the inconvenience: IHG booking app. Tried various previous version , none worked.
HSBC Mobile Banking for UK: all working fine
HSBC Mobile Banking for Hong Kong: works but does not support Fingerprints Log In.
Appreciate any help if you have any solutions for above apps?
Strange... there has not been any reply on this topic yet ?...
> I can't use web version on the phone as the mobile app needs to be supported to generate log in code.
I'm curious about this. Do you have any more information? Which browser are you using? Did you check the box for 'Desktop site' [1]? I find that works for most things where they check the UA string.
[1] That's what it is for Chrome, but I imagine other browsers have something similar.
Are you sure this is true? I am almost certain that I'm upgrading to this phone.
I was told that all Google apps, play store and generally everything Google related is working on this device from EE. I'm also with Barclays and will need to access that app. If this isn't the case then I will have to consider a different phone.
Still no luck. When searching Barclays app in Playstore , no luck. You can go to web version Google store and try to find this app then it will show app not compatible with this device. I guess Barclays app uses Google safetynet framework which is currently baned on this device.
Hi
I have the Barclays banking app working on my Mate 30 Pro 5G along with several other without any issues. Installed the Playstore as per method and downloaded app as normal. Only thing not working is Google Pay.
Dude , the app doesn't even turn up on playstore what are you talking about ?

Sorry, should have made myself clear. I phoned cloned my apps from my P30 pro across to the Mate 30 pro and the app was there. Logged in no problem
Okay thanks for this ,is this Clone process part of Huawei thingy or independent app?
I've tried Huawei Clone , No chance.

Did you just download Barclays apps from your play store? That'll be really shocking to me as Barclays app doesn't even show up in my play store.

Go to this link and install the shared directory apk. Then go to install Barclays app on a 3rd party resource platform such as apkmirror or somewhere similar
It's working on my phone now
Nationwide Banking App UK
Does anyone know if the Nationwide Banking App works via transfer via phone clone? If someone could try this would be great as this is a deal breaker if i get the phone

Tested it can be downloaded directly from my Playstore , if you know how to install Google services on mate30pro then it'll be no problem for you to use that App
So I recently purchased a Mate 30 Pro and managed (Pretty much effortlessly) to Sideload the Google Play Services and apps.
Currently It's working great with little to no issues, I even managed to Sideload Netflix (4.16.3) which is known for DRM protection.
But I have finally hit an impossible snag down the road, I'm having huge trouble installing Disney+ (and McDonalds weirdly enough) on the device, naturally it doesn't show up within Google Play Store as the device isn't technically compatible. I thought I'd beaten this however once I'd sideloaded a compatible XAPK. The UI and "Content Selection" menu works perfectly fine. However, when attempting to play any content, I'm presented with error 39 or 41 (generic errors) depending on the installed version.
Looks like a literal server side DRM limitation. What confuses me, is that many rooted devices that don't pass a SafetyNet check have been able to install it just fine. Any ideas?
Thanks.
It works 100%
Go download SAI app
Than goto: Apkcombo disney +
Download all three files.
Go into the SAI app and install apk. Than goto the download spot where the three files are and select all three and install apk.
Than it should come up with a message that says Disney+ Installed. Click ok
Download SurfShark VPN and buy subscription. Use Detroit, Lathem
And make sure your Disney+ Subscription is active. If not activate it first going to the web and paying for it.
Than the app should work perfectly.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong as this simply doesn't work for me, I always end up with a generic error.
I don't use a VPN, but that's because I live in New Zealand, which is a Disney+ supported region.

Here, I've attempted using SAI, as well as an XAPK Installer which effectively does the same thing.

Hi, I live in New Zealand also. Tried the local on demand TV(TVNZ, mediaworks) both failing as Google DRM not pre installed as far as I can tell.
I've been using Cyberflix for a while now and find it quite good.
Sent from my HUAWEI ALP-L29 using XDA Labs
Disney+ can be installed as noted above with Split APK Installer, however you cannot stream or download - it will error out due to no safetynet or widevine. It will however allow you to browse, add to watchlist, and use the app as a cast remote.
is it working properly?

Does the Mi 10 Ultra pass SafetyNet? Aka use Google Pay, McDonalds, Pokémon Go.
And if so, how come the Mi 10 passes but the P40 Pro does not (despite both phones coming without GMS preinstalled)?
I have the phone
Security level is L1
Saftey net is as global phone
Google services is running as any global phone..100% no issue with me even in downloading all my bought apps
The only issue is that Google backup and restore is not working and Google Location History is not working. The rest all work fine, Google Pay, maps, play store, etc. on the stock china miui 12 rom of course.
Oops, had a typo. Meant to ask:
How come the Mi 10 Ultra passes but the P40 Pro does not (despite both phones coming without GMS preinstalled)? Neither phone is officially available outside China, so I doubt Xiaomi took the time to Google Certify the Mi 10 Ultra. Where does certification come from?
P40 Pro does not come with GMS pre-installed thanks to Trump.
Trump has banned Google from exporting software and licenses to Huawei, so huawei is legally not allowed to install GMS in their OS, even if not activated.
The last Huawei phone with GMS pre-installed is the P30 Pro.
P40 Pro is also available outside China in many regions with HMS instead.
On the other hand, MIUI comes with GMS pre-loaded inside all their China ROMs as well and also Google certified.
It's just not activated, and even if you activate it in China, it will not work due to the Great China Firewall blocking all GMS.
But once the phone is out of China, that's a different story, we just need to install Play Store and all GMS get activated auto-magically.
Some features are not working great as the China rom still have some tiny blocks, notably Google Location History and Backup and Restore.

If a license from Google to Huawei is all that's required. Why don't they just work around it? Can't Google just release the blob of GMS (I understand releasing the source is probably not a good idea) as freeware that doesn't require a license?
Also, what does Xiaomi use in China if not GMS or HMS?

Google Pay is installed directly from the Play Store. I have use apk mirror for Netflix and Prime Video as that was not available on play store.
Netflix absolutely works. Someone who said it doesn't either doesn't know about side loading or did something wrong. You just have to download the apk from somewhere other than the play store. Works fine.

Try changing NFC setting default wallet to "Use HCE Wallet"
Hello!
If I am living in an unsupported country Google pay app probably by default won't be visible inside the watch? (the same thing was with Samsung pay on Galaxy Watch 3). Or does this model already has a pre-installed Google pay app in all regions and we just need to have a valid credit card?
If not, is it possible somewhere to change the region of the watch or better purchase the UK/DE version instead of my countries version?
Thanks!
No, Google pay isn't preinstalled.
Will it be possible to install it like on mobile device and use it?
I am also living in unsupported country but it I can user google pay on mobile phone with apk installation...
Could be possible..
Google Pay (Wear OS) 2.135.389276953 APK Download by Google LLC - APKMirror
Google Pay (Wear OS) 2.135.389276953 APK Download by Google LLC - APKMirror Free and safe Android APK downloads

On mobile APK installed working without any problems, but how you can install it on the Wear OS app, not from the app store, it is possible somehow to upload it like on the phone? (sorry for the newbie questions, it will be my first Wear OS watch.
I tried sideloading the GPay app to the Watch via ADB and its working!

I've not tried to pay with it yet but at least GPay is opening and showing the card.
I'll update tomorrow when i try.

I might have jumped the gun on this one. After a few hours the Watch disables GPay, and its has to be enabled again via Samsung Wearable. When this happens I can no longer select GPay as a payment method in NFC settings. I'll keep investigating, but it seems its not a permanent solution...

Hi! Could you please share the Gpay version that you've used and also the region set on your watch? I've tried sideloading multiple Gpay versions and while I was able to install it, it always crashes when I try to open it. Really curious to learn more about your particular setup.
After changing my watch's region to UK and sideloading this version of Google Pay to it, I was finally able to make it work (I'm in the Netherlands, where it's not officially supported on wearabels).
Were you able to pay with it?
I set mine Watch's region to Germany and sideloaded the Gpay app on the phone. I was able to add a N26 card (it didn't pick up the existing card I had), but after a while it simply was not in my watch's app drawer anymore. I was able to re-enable it in the Galaxy Wearable app and tried to pay with it, which failed (could have been the store I was at).
But now the Gpay app is gone again and I'm unable to re-enable it heh.
Ok. Installed gpay via adb, configured my visa. No problem or error until now. Later I will try to pay with my watch and see what happens.
After few hours gpay app is gone from my watch, and can't push it back via adb. Adb says "succes" but it doesn't apear in my watch . I read on internet that a VPN could solve the problem, I'm studing this option now...

I reset my watch and picked UK, then installed GPay from the Play store on the watch (which looks like it's the same version as the one you posted `2.135.389276953`) and GPay app still gets disabled after a while. Is the secret to side-load it instead of installing it from the Play Store ?
UPDATE: nope, still gets disabled and removed from the home screen even after sideloading
Same story here.
I have an LTE model. When initializing it doesn't list the Western European regions for selection. However I have a UK google account as well next to the primary.
Through that I am able to install Google Pay, through the watch from the Play Store, initialize it and use it.
Until it gets disabled.
The important part here is that is is not removed but disabled only.
Meaning, if I want to pay with the watch, I can find it in the play store on the watch again and enable it. Then it will work for a period.
I can live with this but it is hardly optimal....
So basically there aren't any working solutions to make Gpay working smoothly...

Yes, for me it is baffling that they are taking care of such important features as writing a process to block modules... when there is plenty there to improve upon... Like who cares if you have Samsung Pay or Google Pay on your watch? If you don't have a compatible credit card you are F..d anyway. Samsung own Messages app is bundled next to Google's. I use the later to have RCS, since Samsung does that feature region locked as well.... can I remove Samsung's Messaging app? Only if I purge it with ADB... otherwise it remains. But not the payment apps.... sigh. bonkers.
