Hi to all, as i announce i prepare a sinple tool to change key mapping, but before release i need someone to test it (i don't have much time).
I don't accept any other user to the group because only two submit some comments.

This tool doesn't change the kernel. Produce a simple androidupdate so you can revert changes without flashing.

I found this program really useful! Now I can configure each key to my likings. By the way, is there a manner of configuring the full press of the Camera button?

What works :
- power for wake and wake-up
- call
- end-call, when your're in communication
- GPS : back
- explorer : menu
- long press power or end-call : options of phone
What doesn't works (with the configuration of tool) :
- long press call : search !
- when I see home, press end-call : wake !
- short press camera : home !
- long press camera : recent applications
And I think (if it's possible) you can make options for :
- long press end-call
- long press call
And I test the bootgenerator but impossible to generate the .sh file !!

Phone function and voicemail keypad mapping
Can this tool be used to remap the telephone keypad when the user accesses their voicemail so that the number keys show voicemail function terms like 'msg del', 'msg save', 'hear msg', 'msg replay', etc.
I don't know about other carriers but AT&T has the stupid voice prompting that tells the user what number to push to perform a function such as 'To delete this message press 7'. Wouldn't it be so much better to show under the 7 on the key instead of "PQRS' have it say 'msg del'.
I can't believe there's no android app already available that accomplishes this capability.

Hey this tool looks nice. It will be very usefull and from time to time the key mapping changes in some roms.
What is with the Voicerecord button? I got a pola200 and its on the top left above the volume button. Is this on a pola100 too? Or is it what you mean with camera second?
Another question: will it be possible to map a short and long press feature to each button?
Atm i use incubus froyo and on explorer button is settings on short press and keyboard on long press for example.. would be usefull for every button ;D

a little side-note:
use python 2.7, not the current/latest release 3.1, otherwise the script won't work (at least it did not on my pc )

Can confirm: working on pyton version 2.7, not working with version 3.1.2.

I am not sure what "Wake with" function is supposed to do. I took it like, when the screen in black and phone is locked on pressing a checked button will light the screen up. Is this how is supposed to work? For me it doesn't.

Hi how should I map the camera key in the Kaiser...there are also a couple of other keys (the two close to the focus wheel in the top left side of the phone) not listen in the Kaiser part. One is the other "ok" and the other is the "search" key.. wich in winMo I don't know what it does.. I think is intended to chat or something (there is a comics ballon on it)...
I'm looking around for a method for find the keycode on android but I can't find any working solution..maybe you should quickly point me in the right direction.
Look the dmesg after pressing the key is not giving any answer.. -.-

Hello! Found this thread and utility program very actual for me
I'm using HTC Diamond 2 with Android and want to remap "Power" and "End call" buttons. It is very natural to press Enc call after the conversation, but it is completely inconvenient to use it as power off... On the other hand, the top hardware button works as "Home" in Androd while it is designed to be "Power" as like on the original HTC Diamond and iPhone.
Is there any way to remap these keys functionalty in Android in a free way, say, to leave "End call" on the "End call" button, but move power off to top hardware "Power" button?
I'm new to Android, but a littlie familiar with linux, so I could edit config files if it is necessary. Thanks in advance!

This looks good but I have one question/concern.
How does the remote know which application to send the macro commands too? In other words, that VLC tab you have will only be useful if VLC is your currently active window.
It would be nice if each macro command could be directed towards a specific application running on your computer. If I want to control my iTunes music via remote, I don't want to maximize it first.

That is a very good question! I've thought about this and it still needs some work. With the server being programmed in Java it means I don't have access to external sources like window names and other useful things. It would mean I need to use the system API's (which of course then means I would need to figure out a way to get it to work on Linux and Mac too). Which means its going to be a pain in the ass. Fortunately must commonly used applications listen out for hot keys regardless of focus.
A simple solution would be? :

Have you thought about being able to write a custom function on the Android phone then pushing that to the server then executing it?

Yes, well the idea was that you set-up all of your macros on the computer before hand (prevents security issues). Since you will only need to write the macro once.
I developed this to function as an AIO remote to be used with any software and OS on your computer (where other remote controllers fail). I would of continue developing it, but it seems nobody is interested or doesn't understand what it does fully. I think I might just release the Pro version for free.

I would try and offer some ideas but as you said it lies with using System API's.... Would be a huge improvement if you did manage to figure it out.
And yes the XDA feedback is sometimes.....

AT&T TV - C71KW-400 - B'Com BCM7271 - Root? Bootloader? DRIVERS?

Hey everyone.
I've done some solid weeks of searching to no avail on this.
I have an AT&T AndroidTV box. Model number is C71KW-400 - Manufactured by WNC, not Samsung. Specs as follows.
Android Version 8.0, up to date. Kernel - 4.1.45-1-15pre [email protected] 2. BSL Ver 2.2.5.0, BSU 2.19, BFW 4.25.
I can't get this thing to mount for anything in ADB. Is there something I'm missing? (drivers, I'm pretty sure.)
I'm not sure if there is an OEM specific driver for this box, but I'm about ready to pull my hair out. Almost no permission from factory whatsoever.
Dev Mode unlocked. USB debugging is on. Type-A to Type-A. It won't read the data cable for anything, but reads a regular flashdrive with no worries. Brand new data cable.
Any advice? Tips? I am trying to root and/or flash a new rom after dealing with this misery.

I came across one of these boxes recently. When powered up it prompts you for a Direct-TV login account. I could not find a way to bypass the login so I opened it up and discovered it was running a Broadcom 7271ZBKFSBB3 media processor. Does not look complete. Try to interrupt it by spamming some keyboard inputs that would otherwise work if it were u-boot.
How is the Flash chip connected and can you temporarily prevent the CPU reading the Flash chip ?

This looks more specific to the STB case https://github.com/ARM-software/u-boot/blob/master/doc/README.bcm7xxx so it's a BOLT bootloder which loads another elf image which may or may not be a modified u-boot ?

I think I'm stuck. The box cleared all it's settings when I powered it up with the cover off. It must have sensed it with the IR detector. Now it is prompting me to hit two buttons on the remote simultaneously for 3 seconds. I don't have the original remote that comes with the box and have been using my Logitec Harmony to emulate the remote. The Harmony does not allow me to do this. See attached photos...

The settings reset was probably due to the provider firmware not being able to authenticate to a central server for a period of time, or receiving empty config from the central server due to missing subscription.

CURRENT FUNCTIONAL CONFIGURATION :
Xiaomi redmi note 6 pro Android 9 with ROOT and TWRP
(this guide is also valid for other phones as long as you find the 4 apps written below working for that phone and for that android version ....)
- AA 7.0.614104 (others don't work)
- S2A 3.6.2 (to date latest version)
- Magisk 20.4 (with version 23 there is the problem with the car touch screen not working)
- AA AIO 4.0.2 (to date latest version)
All the apps named in this post especially for XIAOMI need to be set with auto start active and energy saving none .
Just go to settings, apps, manage apps, select the desired app and activate auto start, put power saving on no restrictions
HOW TO MAKE NETFLIX WORK ON THE RUNNING CAR
Launch Chrome on your pc.
Get files attached a this post and copy the frida and mirror.js files to the Android device memory.
On your Android device go to Google Play and install the Root Explorer .
Launch Root Explorer.
Copy the frida and mirror.js files to the / system / bin folder .
Press and hold your finger on the frida.
Tap the three dots icon at the top right and select Permissions .
Set the permissions as shown in the following photo and click Ok.
Launch Tasker and go to the Activities tab .
Create a new activity by tapping the + icon at the bottom right.
Choose a name for the activity and tap the check mark on the right.
Tap the + button at the bottom right and select Code .
Tap Run Shell .
In the Command field type frida -e -s /system/bin/mirror.js -n com.netflix.mediaclient
Check Use Root .
Tap the left arrow key at the top left to save your settings.
Go to Profiles and create a new profile by tapping the + button at the bottom right.
Choose a name for the profile and tap the check mark on the right.
Select Application .
Select the Netflix app .
Tap the left arrow in the top left to return to Profiles .
Tap the newly created profile and select the previously created activity.
Connect your phone to Android Auto.
Start AA Mirror.
Select Netflix to view it on Android Auto.
HOW TO MAKE AMAZON WORK PRIME VIDEO ON THE WORKING CAR :
the procedure is the same as the previous one but the string must be replaced with this below (creating another profile and activity on tasker)

HOW TO USE 2 PHONES WORKING (one always connected with the secondary USB cable - one normally connected via primary Bluethoot)
Install the free version as recommended by Mastino "Disable appliacation Root"

Open the app, give all the required permissions, scroll the list to the bluethot item, open the item, click on disable.
If everything is ok now you can use the secondary phone for S2A and have the bluethoot channel free to use the main phone with the speakerphone, as you have always done.
FORCED ROTATION OF WORKING APP(e.g. NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO etc)
Some apps appear vertically when opened and have no options for rotation.
Rotation with a specific app that requires permissions must be forced.
Use the ROTATION app by Pranav Pandey that works very well

DELETE LOCK SCREEN for DIRECT START ON WORKING HOME
In the developer options (which I assume you already have active) activate skip the lock screen
This way you will no longer have the annoying vertical lock screen

SOLUTION FOR S2A DISAPPEARED FROM AA
Uninstall AA and install AA version 7.0.614104
Install or run LUCKY PATCHER.
find and Select screen2 auto
press and hold on screen2auto
Then click on clone app
After cloning it asks if you want to install the clone
Clik install clone
android auto screen2auto appears again.
Naturally you must reconfigure again screen2auto end android auto
