So, my SM-G930F (herolte) was stuck in a bootloop before I flashed LineageOS 15.1. Now, that I want to turn off the phone, it just restarts instead of shutting off. What can I do to fix that?
Problem solved and thread closed at OP request

Hi Guys,
I seem to be having an issue with my OPO constantly rebooting. I decided to flash OxygenOS and after about a day i went back to Mahdi. Now all of a sudden, my phone keep rebooting on its own. It turns on and i can do whatever i want with it but as soon as i turn the screen off, it reboots....any idea as to why this is happening?
Thank you
UPDATE:

Did you wipe properly before going back to Mahdi? If you can get into TWRP just copy a ROM across and flash it. Or flash the stock images via fastboot.

Hello, Newbie Here!
So I recently flashed the Resurrection Remix ROM Build 6.8 and Kernel 6.2.
The Build is rather stable and In my honest opinion better than CM12.1 which I was on previously.
So the normal functions of the phone are normal and I feel this is a much stable build. I use a ASUS Zenfone 5(ASUS_T00F)
But I face random reboots where the phone restarts itself and gets stuck at the boot. Only when i try to force reboot from the bootloop screen does the phone restart normally and even that takes three or four attempts. First I thought it was just getting used to the new Kernel then when this started occurring frequently I became more aware that this might just be a potential risk.
Today afternoon, My Phone was literally stuck at bootloop for 2 hours.... Only when I tried to do three-four manual forced reboots by pressing my power key and with each instance entering the TWRP mode and doing a dalvik and cache wipe only then was I able to boot up my phone normally.....It totally drained the battery though. I was at 78% and when my phone finally booted up I was shocked to see just 1% charge left.
Everytime this issue occurs...either the phone is completly stuck in bootloop or goes to the "Android is upgraing your apps" notification and then again comes back to the bootloop.
I have also done two fresh flashes before this as well so I know its got nothing to do with a dirty flash.
I then started googling for the same issue that other Zenfone 5 users might be experiencing but to my shock...No threads on it could be found with the issue that Im experiencing.
Pretty frustrated right now I have no clue what to do.
Donot want to go back to STOCK ROM..It sucks.
Please help Guys!

Having this same problem. This hasn't solved for me yet but I've made progress.
Yeah, follow that and I have answered along those lines in more than one thread on XDA too. Search this forum and Google for bootit.ko and you should find the threads.
Hi everyone,
Someone asked me to fix his phone and i'm stuck. The S7 is crashing randomly (black screen) and after a crash, it cannot be booted until the battery is dead (even by pressing power +home or power + vol-) and charged again. I don't know how to fix it and i'm stuck at this point.
Here is the story behind it :
The phone wrote the famous "moisture" message and then won't boot up. He never put it in water. So he put it in rice but it didn't work. The owner of the phone took it to a fixing store in Thailand where they changed the battery. After a day, the phone crashed and we send it to Samsung Thailand who told us a high cost without explanations so they didn't fix it and we got it back.
Hopping someone can help me about this problem
Update :
A deep-clean flash () got me stuck into "no command" and pushing vol+/vol-/home didn't change anything, it just bootlooped.
So then i tried installing TWRP 3.1.1, it's a success but after installing LineageOS 14.1 and booting the phone crashed at bootlogo and won't boot up again...
Another Update :
I finally managed to get it working saturday, but it crashed just today and it's the same. It crashed in a lightweight app with no app running in the background. I'm thinking of a material problem :/
New update, still hoping someone know how to fix this:
I tried to flash stock firmware over and over but it keeps crashing at the end of the boot animation... I'll try an oreo firmware, hope it'll fix it
I'm able to go through the openkirin installation instructions completely but my phone gets stuck during boot saying "Your device is booting now" and will sit like that until I'm assuming the battery drains. The only way I can get out of this is to boot into recovery and reinstall the stock rom. I've tried to flash omnirom pie alpha 5.2 as well with the same results. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be stopping me from successfully booting? My bootloader is unlocked and I've got FRP unlocked as well.
so after letting it sit and do it's thing for a while it rebooted on it's own but still gets stuck in the same place. I'll provide as much info as I can if anyone needs it to try and diagnose the problem. In the meantime I'm going to keep fiddling with it and I'll update the thread if I come across a fix.
Kinda same for me, on vendor Pie, Omni alphas are stuck at the animated OMNI logo, so try RR instead, that works.
But, I've come back to stock Pie, the battery life of >6h is way nicer than ~4h that I got on RR unfortunately.
