You may want to post the steps to unlock so any developers if any can possibly work on a recovery.

Not sure. It state L29. I think it is international or global version.
It came unlock when I got it. Let me ask how they manage to unlock the bootloader.

Chinese model doesn't have that option.

Hope we dont get penalized for being early adopters (maybe like htc cid change?) Hardware should be the same right?
Stupid and probably unlikely to work but can we restore the UK backup? The hisuite has rom flashing in it natively also.... There's also an option internally to flash/upgrade

May have to go the funkyhuwaei route and try to rebrand. However I'm not sure it's possible with a locked bootloader.

This is one response I got the other day. FYI this is my first Huawei device so I'm learning a ton as I'm trying to figure out other things so sorry if I'm a tad off on anything. The project menu has USB options too...

This unit is a beta prototype for testing/developer and hence it is not locked. The actual commercial set will be locked.
This option is possibly shown due to prototype while I was exploring the phone. My apologies and hope that clarify

Questions about the bootloader

Hello,
I'm writing today to get more informations (if anyone know, obviously) about the actual bootloader status.
I just bought a Huawei P20. It's a good device, before wanting to root it.
As you know, the bootloader 16-digits number is no more acquirable thanks to our deer and beloved Huawei company, this means that you can't root your device since may, and not only the P20, also other huawei and other devices. :victory:
I think this decision is really anoying : I buyed an android device to be the master of my device, if I did not want, I would have bought an apple device... But it's like they can't assume Android...
That's why I write, to ask, first, if the bootloader unlock is definitely dead, or is there hope ?
If Huawei don't get the bootloader back, do you think someone of the community can release a way to root the device ?
I almost want to refund the phone because of this...
Thanks
DC Unlocker still offers codes. It'll cost a few bucks, though.

I unlocked my P20 the official way, while it was still possible.
I used DC Unlocker (can't remember which one) to unlock a friend's Mate 10 Pro.

Maybe someone will release something to unlock bootloader without the site ? Nah ? Please give me hope...

Is there no way to get root on my p20 eml 029 without unlocking bootloader first?

So I just bought this telephone, I need root to add some mafile for my steam app I use in esport classes where all logins are saved.
Is this phone useless or can I actually get root without unlocking bootloader, kinda sad they stopped giving out keys, this will be my last huawei device because of exact this.

Unlock bootloader of Mate 9

Hi! I just got a Mate 9 and was wondering if there's an alternative way to unlock its bootloader since Huawei doesn't allow it anymore.
Maybe something through FunkyHuawei from what I've read here.

True that. I didn't continue.
Try using Dc unlocker? Some people say it works in oreo. I think it depends on your firmware version. Huawei was being strict with modifications. Even firmware finder does not work with current firmwares.

huawei mate 20 X Bootloader

Yes chinese mate 20 X can be unlocked 100% sure
Awesome. Seriously interested in this phone but have never had an unrooted phone so more details would be much appreciated. What software are you using here? I'm presuming this is only possible on the Chinese variant and not the global? Will you be attempting to install Magisk? Thanks in advance.

Just got my Honor View 10, where to start?

I was hoping that I could install Magisk and TWRP. I don't really care about custom ROMs, is it possible or am I out of luck? Some info about my device:
Build number is BKL-L04 8.1.0.105(C567)
EMUI is 8.0.0
Security patch is March 1, 2018
If it is possible, are there any guides?
Which 3rd party unlocking service should I go through? And before I proceed, should I update to the latest software version?
Thanks.

Nowadays Honor don't provide unlock codes, so you can't unlock bootloader to flash any TWRP or get root with Magisk.
There isn't 3rd party services to get the code
You'll enjoy this device totally stock
