Weird Glitch in YouTube Vanced for OP 7 Pro - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Sorry just wanna find out if there are people know or experiencing something like mine.
I'm currently using YouTube Vanced version 14.21.54, but there is something strange when i set the display refresh to 90hz, if the video i'm watching is 60fps it will occasionally dropped to 30fps multiple times, so annoying. But when i set the display refresh to 60hz, it will become normal, no dropping fps whatsoever lmao. This is NOT happening in official Youtube app from Google Play, just cant stand the ads. Anyone experiencing this stuff??

Youtube showing notch in videos

Since I updated to android 9 youtube is showing the notch while playing videos when I pinch to zoom (doesn't hide like it was hidden on previous builds). Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Have you enabled full screen mode in settings for YouTube?
Same issue, using Vanced Magisk. No one seems to care or have a solution yet as Pie just isn't mainstream.

Scrolling performance?

Hi,
I have the P30 for about 5 days now and from the first day i have some issues with scrolling in Youtube and Chrome, it`s very chpppy. In other apps is fine even though its not fast is smooth. Anyone have this problem? I have the latest update .124 and i did reset it once but the problem persist. I had an HTC U11 and it was super smooth in both Youtube and Chrome.
I also noticed this. As soon as a Youtube video is playing it gets laggy. Same for Firefox, sometimes it just stops, then jumps. Seems to be normal, i hope they'll fix this. That's the one thing i loved about Sony phones: They're so damn smooth.
I noticed this too. It's fine at first, but once a preview video starts to play on the main feed, it gets choppy, but only when scrolling down. Scrolling back up remains smooth.
Haven't noticed this so far. Made a quick test on YouTube, with and without video playing and the scrolling is smooth. Only if I scroll very fast and it has to load more videos it will get stuck from told to time but I think that's normal

i dont think so.. I have a oneplus 3 and its pretty smooth in youtube videos.. I bought a p30 5 days ago and in noticed the laggy youtube too. Hope it fix soon
I've noticed this also. I've also seen a few reviewers report this.
Hopefully sorted in a future update.
Experiencing choppy scrolling as well. Mostly in Chrome on pages with lots of ads, videos and photos. Not having any issues in YouTube though.
No laggy issues with firefox app in youtube page
I got my P30 2 days ago, and updated to the latest EMUI out of the box. Tried replicating the issue, based on the descriptions above, but have thus far been unsuccessful (which is good!).
Yesterday i updtated the youtube app and no more laggy issues!!!
I'm still having the issue even though I updated the phone and youtube.
another issue is in google maps when you start the navigation tool.. the laggy in youtube persists when you watch the video in 1080p 60fps...
I notice it's a bit choppy when I'm playing SimCity Buildit and I visit other players' cities. Is it something to do with the refresh rate for those apps, maybe? Could that be clashing with the P30 refresh rate?
version 161 is still very choppy laggy in video playing apps (e.g. YouTube)

I have version 161 and it's still very laggy and choppy whenever video is playing.
So i tested my P30 and no issue in youtube app. In chrome when scrolling sometimes it is laggy because the animated ads start oalying when scrolling. Beside that no issues. Im on 161 firmware.
Just bought P30. The phone is fast but scrolling in bluetooth(when searching for device) and YouTube makes me a little angry... I hope they will fix this soon.

Same here. The scrolling is also very slow on some apps ( not choppy, just slow).
Same here, got a Huawei p30 some days ago, awsome device but Youtube app get's low frame drops and choppy when:
- Scrolling comments while video is playing (if video goes pause, it's smooth)
- When going to wide full screen, videos seems to have lower framerate (not 60)
- When autorotating the screen from vertical to portrait and forth
Is there any way to adivice Huawei or Google about this? plenty of post in even other sites has the same issue with Youtube.
Exactly same issues on my device. Waiting for fix.

Pixel 3 + Android 10 + 1080p Autofps mode = FAIL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgY5ADPvwiM
Why Google ? Tottally unusable videomode, tons of dropframes and lags. Maybe you need fix libcam drivers for imx363 chip on Android 10 ?
Btw. On PIE 9.0 1080p autofps mode looks good:good: im using latest stock Google Camera ver 6.3.26
October update DONT fixed that problem Hey google whats wrong ? Flagship phone cant record normally video 1080p ....
VIDEO nr 2
Has anyone noticed a similar problem with your pixel 3 ? I have this problem with Gcam 6.3.20, 6.3.26, 7.1.15 on Android 10.

Nope everything is recording fine here, smooth like water!
frame loss and lag only appears when the camera wants to return from 60fps to 30fps. if the conditions are poor and the camera does not reach 60 FPS then there are no lags and the video is as smooth as water, yes. even my wife noticed that this is losing frames and that's something on PX camera 1.1 60fps works great for me, autofps tragedy I can't look at it
I returned to Android 9 PIE and finally the problem was solved. Autofps works great. Google has to do something about it, Pixel 4 has in addition to 3 modes of autofps / 30fps / 60fps, maybe Google will graciously do the same with Pixel 3. At the moment Android 10 for video recording in autofps mode is broken. Perhaps it is the fault of the underdeveloped drivers or bad clocks that manage the cpu speed.

Can i Watch 4k YouTube video on poco 3x?

good evening,
i wanted to kindly ask you if, with this device, i could see videos in 4k, for example on youtube (i read that on xiaomi mi 10 lite you see videos in 4k, but i am afraid of having ghost touching problem with that model ). as for LIVE VIEW inside GOOGLE MAPS, how does it behave? go jerky?
I await you and thank you very much, it is important
Hi. The 4k option doesn't show up for me. Not that it matters though. 6.6" display at 1080p resolution wouldn't make a difference anyways (except for huge increase in data usage). As for Google Maps live view it seems to be working just fine though to be honest I find it being a useless gimmick. Some old Nokia phones had a similar feature and it was just as useless back then as it is now.
FYI I use Vanced not thr stock YT app so it might be different there.
You can try to to look for Vanced Youtube
Like I said I use Vanced and even if you set 2160p as your preferred resolution there's no visual difference only in the amount of data pulled to play the video. On like a PC monitor or TV you might notice less compression so it might make sense to use a higher resolution than your display can support but on a tiny smartphone screen? Unless you absolutely have a need to burn through your data without any profit I'd say stay away from 4k.
Trying to watch a 4k or even a 2K video on a 1080p screen ? What's the point ?
You can't display more than effective screen pixels...

Android 12 / MIUI 13 - How to switch off Adaptive FPS?

Hi there XDA Forums,
So I recently updated my Redmi K30 (Phoenix) to MIUI 13.0.1.0 (and with it to Android 12). One of the main issues I noticed is that the device will automatically adjust the FPS according to what is being displayed on the screen. By default, I have my refresh rate and FPS set to 120 for the smoothest experience I can get.
However, when I open an App like YouTube, I can scroll through the list of videos just fine, but when most videos start playing the framerate drops to 30 FPS (unless its a video that has over 30 FPS).
For a chat app like Discord, when I scroll pass a GIF I can see that my FPS goes from 120 to 30 while the GIF is visible on the screen, which is an absolutely terrible experience.
Everything about the update is seems fine, and I can see when adaptive FPS can become helpful, but I need something, at least an option for me to maintain the framerate that i want.
I have Magisk (25.1) installed and I have tried using SetEdit, and changed variables like 'min_refresh_rate', 'peak_refresh_rate' but none of these do anything. I have also tried changing the variable 'user_refresh_rate' to 1, while this was able to change the YouTube App's framerate from 60 to 120 while browsing for videos, when a 30FPS video plays the framerate once again drops to 30 again until either the video is paused or closed. I have also tried MagiskHide Props Config along with setting variables such as 'ro.vendor.dfps.enable' and 'ro.vendor.smart_dfps.enable' to false, but this one didn't work either.
I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
I have the same problem and i want to switch if i dont have a solution... Did you find any?
