LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

One question, can you root with magisk? I have installed version of the date 2019-010-02, of a link that they have shared, but it could not be rooted with magisk (flashed the zip from twrp but magisk did not appear installed and there was no access to root)
Thank you so much
Thank you very much for continuing to contribute, the ROM works quite well and fluid. I had problems with Chrome in all its versions, after 1 or 2 minutes it freezes. I also had problems with recent applications (I am using gesture navigation) when I swipe the navigation bar to the right, changing the application works smoothly, but when I swipe it up it hangs and sometimes the other applications not listed

Hello,
some users reported a significant battery drain for some of the newer Android Versions (Others osprey releases, not this one).
Could somebody kindly share some firsthand experience with this version, please?

I haven't noticed battery drain although I haven't been checking. The ROM is almost fully stable. I've used it for about a day and only had one reboot as a result of a Google play issue I think. I tested taking photos and these worked fine.
Side note: for some reason I was not able to download the beta version of apps on the play store. On my other devices I'm part of the beta program but on this it said unsubscribing from beta program?
i tried it and despite been an alpha build it feels better than all the pie roms i have tested, cheers to the devs
Super ROM !!! Thanks for all the good work.

Strange behavior...
Flashed ROM, OpenGApps stock and removed Setup Wizard from priv-app.
System boots, I've chosen pixel launcher (the first one, the one that comes with the first Pixel), but I've 2 problems.
First my list app and go home soft button doesn't works, only back soft button works. I've tried also with gnow launcher, but the behavior is the same...
Second the store doesn't update the app, they stay in waiting for download.
Finally, I can't enable developer options: does Oreo support another trick to enable?
May be all problems are related to OpenGApps? Shall I try with unofficial ones or with beangapps (u don't know if exist for Oreo).
Well, not a great first Oreo experience! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Thank you. Works fine.
People say, there are no working GApps arm 11.0 at the moment
Rooting with magisk canary OK.
Status bar network traffic broken.
WiFi hotspot broken
Thanks, idk what to say, android 11 was released just 3 weeks ago and it's already available for surnia. Thanks man, for keeping this device relevant and alive, thanks !
Excellent work! It's really impressive to see Android 11 running on this phone already. I haven't had any issues with the ROM so far besides a few app crashes here and there. I flashed the latest ARM package of BiTGApps for Android 11 and I can confirm it works.
Congratulations on getting 11 running on this!
Can you please share your roomservice.xml file from .repo/local_manifests directory so I can see what repos were used to build this?
I want to try to replicate your build on another msm8916 platform device. I could not find a manifest or roomservice.xml on https://github.com/MalluOS
Thank you.

I just flashed it in conjunction with the ROM after a factory reset.
Great, very great job! Is incredible that people like you are still developing for this old but fantastic device. I has already installed the rom and is working fine. Congrats and thanks you!
W-Fi not connected
Thanks for the development!! Is there an android 10 version of this rom?
Are there OTAs?

Make sure your wifi frequency is 2.4 GHz. Try changing the channel on your router, it worked for me. There may also be some BT interference.
WiFi and Bluetooth both working great. ROM is fairly stable. Great work.
Very stable although the system clock occasionally malfunctions. I found NixGapps to work the best. Also flash the pixel launcher as the Trebuchet launcher isn't very stable and often crashes. To root, you must use magisk canary (21.0 or later) since the latest stable version (20.4) doesn't support android 11 yet. Bluetooth file transfer is broken and won't accept any files. BT audio works perfectly well. The ROM already supports Google Assistant so no need to force enable it with build.prop.
anyone aware of the gapps package that works with this ROM?
whats lottie animations? screenshots?

Wow, development has came a long way for this device. It's nice to see Android 12 for this device!
One issue though; the task switcher is broken. If this were to be fixed I would use this rom more often.
I do know this device isn't my daily driver anymore, but I understand that this is a work in progress.
Amazing. Thanks for the support on Merlin ^^.

I'm sorry but does this mean to flash it we must be in marshmallow based firmware first?
Also amazing work for a 6 year old phone!

@althafvly ....you mad scientist you!!! Is this a build of Android 12 I see for a little budget device that launched with Android Lollipop back in 2015? Guys hats off to @althafvly for keeping the 3rd Gen Moto G spirit alive. He never fails to surprise me with these miraculous custom builds. It is well done, Sir. Thank you for your hard work and continued dedication to the beloved Moto G3. Love for both the Osprey and Merlin models. Bravissimo

OP, the January, 2022, security patch build seems more fluid and responsive than the previous builds. In addition to bringing up the security patch level, did you make stability improvements and bug fixes also? Thanks.
This ROM works fine, thank you! Great work to keep this old mobile up to speed!
The only thing is the widgets, I can't seem to find them. Long pressing on the home screen doesn't present any choice to add them.
And the battery light stays on although I turn it off in the settings.
Minor stuff, of course, but still, I wonder.
Edit: I tested Nova launcher and the widgets are there, but just not accessible via Trebuchet.
is it compiled as android go?, is it possible that the surnia was the same?
Where do I get the correct Gapps version for 19.0?
EDIT: Never mind. I got everything I need working without it.
Updated to 12L (check OP for link)
- Fixed mobiledata

Hi. I am new to this and want to install this os on my moto g turbo. But i am unable to figure out the steps to follow. If anyone could provide me the link to a guide that i could follow for this, it would be helpful. Also, do i need to root my phone to install this os?
Thank you.

All done. I was able to find some guides and installed the OS. Bugs are the same as mentioned at the top. And it works beautifully. Thank you.
good evenings, I know this was posted long time ago, I nhave a friend that has the moto g3, do you recommend me to update his device?? I am very scared by watching at the bugs you mentioned, also... I saw a recent update I'm going to use that one, is it stable? Thanks, Giyax
sorry friend, but when I do a clean installation and then install the gapps it doesn't let me or the start of my google account doesn't appear
Hello all, thank you for this work! In my osprey 2/16 LTE don't work
Since 17.1 updates stopped, I consider jumping on 18.1 or 19.1....any reason to prefer 18.1 to this most recent unofficial LOS ROM?
Is it possible to use the SD card as internal storage in 19.1?
