We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those who are unfamiliar, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhances the overall user experience. This time around he have his wallpaper app Abstruct, were you will be able to find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers alongside a huge amount of amazing wallpapers.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

This is a great news, coming from OOS. I love the stock experience but what about bsp thing. How does the developers fix the layer of software containing hardware-specific drivers, to have fully working Rom. So we can have everything working as it should

Grate job guys ?
Same issue as with all of the guys above. Although I'm using the Chinese TWRP that works with Android 10 (MIUI 11 by Xiaomi.EU). Seeing that even using the exact same TWRP in the instructions isn't going to change a thing, I'm not going to give it a shot.
Now I can't even boot to TWRP (after several wipes and format datas), stuck in Fastboot mode. Tried to flash using MiFLash but it gave me antirollback check error (maybe because I've already updated mine to MIUI 11). Please help

halogenOS Checklist
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:
Please take a full nandroid backup!
Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we can't promise that it will work for you,
we can tell you that this has been tested. In fact, @xdvs23 did a dirty flash of
XOS 7 over XOS 6 and has no problems.
If you get app crashes after dirty flashing over XOS 6 or another ROM, please just
clear the app data of those apps, and it should work fine then.
XOS is a new generation cutting-edge OS for Android based on Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
featuring only extremely minor set of components from CyanogenMod (CM) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the CyanogenMod
organization and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.

(Not finished yet)
Common stuff
The ROM is super stable as of now and we'll maintain a clean and proper ROM.
Known issues are going to be fixed as soon as possible. We don't have infinite time.
Highlights (some are OP3-only):
No QS Bug!!!
OTA
Reworked Lockscreen Visualizer
New implementation of button backlight
Modern Services -> Google Assistant etc.
Substratum
Full media support (FFMPEG, video codecs, ...)
Great Audio quality, no distortions, no crap
Optimized many portions of the system including surfaceflinger, inputflinger, System Server, and more
Super fast boot
Superuser-capable
Great battery life
Soundmod support (not all soundmods work on Nougat, it's not our fault)
addon.d support (backups your gapps etc. when flashing new build - don't wipe system before flashing!)
init.d support
BusyBox
Disabled Access Time for all partitions (We don't need access time. When access time is enabled, it will store the exact date of the access when a file is accessed, what just wastes write cycles (in theory) and has impact in I/O performance.)
Super smooth
Signature Spoofing toggle (Support for MicroG)
Support for trusted third-party WebViews like Chrome
Long press on home for assist toggle
Security Patches in kernel
KCal support
Kernel optimizations
OpenGapps (Mini/Micro/Nano recommended) and Banks GApps support
Offline Gestures support (super fast recoginition)
Alert Slider
Full KeyHandler & KeyDisabler support
Dexpreopt for faster (first) boot time and less space consumption on data partition
Upgrade & Boot the ROM in just 5 minutes - no more endless waiting for flashing a new build
Very high compatibility with other ROMs
Less Customization
How to update the ROM:
Download the latest zip
Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM
Reboot
You don't need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You don't need to flash gapps again. There is some magic going on which keeps your GApps. Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
You don't need more than 5 minutes.
How to install the ROM for the first time:
Download the latest zip
Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Wipe system, data and cache (If you want to try a dirty flash, dont wipe anything)
Flash the ROM
Flash gapps if you want
Reboot
Screenshots
Currently right now, halogenOS will only include the stock Android theme.
We are going to use a custom theme as soon as that theme is working perfectly fine.

What kind of camera and the picture quality is, I can not right now install and try for yourself.
This looks very promising and I will be trying it out today. My problem with almost all Nougat ROMs is there's always something that's not quite perfect or reliable (I'm used to Sultan's reliable everything, particularly battery life).
Hopefully this can give me that! Coming from VertexOS.
Nice to see another CAF ROM on here, wish you the best.
Is sdcardfs disabled? Its known to cause issues.
Finally, i love your rom on op2 and now you do a version for op3

Finally, PA is also changing the way it names its releases in response to Google doing away with Android treat names. Going forward, new Paranoid Android releases will have names related to minerals, in this case, Quartz (Android Q). So the official name for the latest PA ROM is Paranoid Android Quartz.

I've just read this in an article on androidauthority because I was unclear on Quartz in the title.
I really don't know who thought it was a good idea, but I can tell you I was sick of treats and minerals don't sound promising at all.

Hi, one question, this rom has display live un display options for calibrate the temperatura of display?
Dirty flash a rom will break gapps. All Google apps or service crash. Happens on LOS or PA. Anyone has a workaround to fix the problem? It's hurt to clean flash all the time.

The workaround is called good backups.
The alternative is to stick with a single stable custom ROM. In this case that would mean a PIe based ROM, as none of the Q custom ROMs are at a stable state.
You could also stick with the current build of a Q ROM and not update it again until it goes stable, living with the current minor issues.
Going from ROM to ROM, expect trouble if you dirty flash.
Having the latest version of a ROM before it's considered stable, expect trouble occasionally with the new release if you dirty flash.
This is how it's always been.
PA is best.
Welcome.:fingers-crossed:
bug report:
when playing audio over BT with native decoder(like retro music player) the audio stops playing when you get a notification sound over speaker like with the Blitzer(speedcam) app. Touch sounds (if enabled) and not native decoders like Spotify have no issues. Only a reboot fixes it
video: https://mega.nz/#!ksRSwKDZ!YyuipoucZ0rI34TIUa5xW1PTKgqm4djtRGPzcYpljX4
Blitzer(speedcam) App:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomtom.speedcams.android.map
But no other real issues so far. Super fast ROM
also if someone is interested, I have made a script which debloats PA (or any other Q ROM) . it survives OTAs, means the apps will be automatically deleted after every OTA update (like magisk is reflashing itself after OTAs)
you can easily customize it. just edit zip/system/addon.d/33-barebones.sh with the folder names of apps you want to remove.

if the display size is in default, it crashes.
if your are playing games, you can't start screen recording while ingame. it crashes. you need to start screen recording first before opening a game

As for the video recording, it was ported from the Android R Beta Source, so it's bound to have some issues.
The Team is working on fixing these.
And all the users will receive OTA!
Cheers!
Is it going to use pie audio blobs and will have vendor inbuilt in the rom package in next update.?

My phone stuck in bootloop. I did the step like instruction. But in telegram it says to flash vendor after rom while here the opposite. I'm using latest OFRP btw.
Wiped data+cache+dalvik from Crdroid 6.4, magisk 20.3 works (19.3 bootlooped) and passes safetynet.
Found a bug.
Wfd service keeps crashing while trying to connect to wireless display.

We’re really excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz Beta, based on Android 10.
The beta builds include adjustments and improvements on top of the stock Android CAF base. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features.

Thanks for the ROM its my favourite of all time since my firts device with android. Please keep this alive
Thank you for posting this, OP. Been meaning to build this myself, but looks like you've done the work for me.
Love the no-nonsense approach, everything I need is built-in. PA has always been a one-stop, professional and clean ROM and its great to see it on our Mi A2.

Can you please build this ROM for our device? Since you're a recognised developer it'll be easier to get it official.

@jeangraff30 has done a great job already, so I'm happy to use these builds
Status has no weighting on whether this is official or not - it would depend on usability and quality of device tree

İnstalled this rom and i liked it i think this will be my daily driver. Haven't faced any bugs. Only tap to wake is not working on ambient screen and voice recorder isn't worked at first. But i found solution to fix mix problem. Solution is go to google and disable hey google then restart your phone. For tap to wake it's working without Ambient display. Btw great rom <3
Best thing that has happened to this device.
Keep the good work.
I just reflashed and relock mi MI A2 because I was disappointed of all the flashing issues with gapps.
I will try this rom!
i wish there is rom package without gapps included.

Just updated to this build, and loving it still.
Is this using the new rebased kernel from xiaomi-sdm660 or is it your own fork?
Thank you once again for the fresh build. Are you planning on keeping up to date on AOSPA releases or on your own schedule?
Which variant of gapps included? ie. Pico, nano?
Just the basic stuff dialer, messages and photo

Notice
As we are growing on our list of supported devices in each release, we require of a stronger build environment so we can speed up the compilation process for releases. Based on the actual Quartz 4 list, we support over 30 devices, which takes between 2 and 3 days for all the builds to be completed without counting possible compilation issues or rebuild needs, based on our current specs.
We kindly ask all of you that are in position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.
