I tried yesterday and you can install the app if you use for example appcloner (search on google as its not available on the playstore anymore) , which lets you take the apk file and make a "new" app out of it. This makes the app recognized as a new app by the system instead of replacing the system app. However, the cloned app did not work for me and crashed everytime I tried to open it. so i dont think that version is compatible with with the official build of android 10. Maybe someone else have any other suggestions or you could try

This is BEYOND frustrating. Why one earth would they take this feature out. I mean, for crying out loud, the 7 pro is their flagship but a 100 dollar cheaper phone has more features?? Smh

if you rooted, that's easy. I also installed it myself because of that feature.

I'm a noob with this phone. I've rooted other phones but not sure how here. Link? If rooted what's process for installing that camera ver? Thx

Macro mode uses hardware so it won't work on the 7 pro even if you get the software working.

Root guide on this forum. Very easy. Unlock bootloader first. Then fastboot TWRP to flash Magisk, for flash patched boot image.
For install this camera with root, you must copy & replace the apk in system/priv-app, then wipe dalvik-cache.

Or just use zoom feature on Photo. Photo it's resized to 1980x.. This it's a small picture 1,5cm x 1,5cm on a laptop.

[Q] System Update

Hi
Is there any way to stop my phone updating itself. I am looking to block OTA updates on a Standard non rooted Samsung Rom?
John
Go into your settings, about device, software update. Then disable the auto update option. Done.
Without root I don't think you really can.

Ratings of the package are poor to bad for users of many Samsung models.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisabler
Or are you using a different package? I don't need this, but know of a few who don't want to root that do.

That's exactly what I use, but the pro model.
Most of the negative reviews are because you have to pay. I'm not really sure what else there is to it: it disables apps like it says.
Zero issues.

Doesn't work, License server error before program starts.
Also very dangerous tool as it needs internet to work.
If you by misstake disable something that has to do with connectivity you will end up having to do a factory restore !!
If you by misstake installed this crap onto your device, you might notice that the de-install option is greyed out, don't panic.
Go into the security section and de-select the app under device administrators.
Now it can be de-installed.
Here's a much better and SAFER alternative:

BTW,
These are the 3 packages that i needed to disable to kill OTA on my S5 with KitKat 4.4.2:

com.sec.android.fotaclient com.policydm

Camera not working after 8 AUG 2021 Update

Camera not working after 8 AUG 2021 Update
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if any of you guys had this same issue with your phones. My Zenfone 7 pro updated overnight (WW-30.41.69.89) and I woke up to a faulty camera.
At first, I would only crash when I tried to take a selfie. Back camera worked fine all day. I tried to take a selfie at night with some friends, and it crashed, never to open again.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Clearing Camera Cache & Storage
Factory Reset (Soft & via Recovery Mode)
Downgrade to Android 10 with Asus Official ROM (UL-I002D-WW-99.99.99.99-user)
Upgrade again the downgraded Android 10.
Install WW-30.41.69.89 via microSD & recovery mode.
Tried installing GCam. Version 8 Crashes. Version 7 works only on 1x and crashes in any other mode, it also looks upside down.
The thing is, it actually works with WhatsApp, Instagram and so, but the camera is also upside down.
Next thing to try would be to unlock the bootloader and try a different ROM but, I don't really want to deal with the Netflix and banking apps issues.
Of course, Asus asked to send over the phone, and it feels kind of silly because I believe it's a software problem. This reminds me of the Pixel Cursed Camera...
Any ideas you could share?
[Edit 1]
The camera is fully working again with GCam 8. Unfortunately, the stock camera doesn't work on selfie.
Now, I'm convinced it's a software malfunction. Oddly enough, it started working again after trying to fix inaccurate location on Google Maps. It asked to use the camera... it crashed, I rebooted the system and got the camera working properly.
Did you try GCam.
Did you try camera when your clean (no other apps installed fresh from wipe)
I'm rooted bank apps working fine

Hello! Thanks for you answer. Yes, GCam kind of works... looks upside down.
It still crashes with no apps installed. Will try rooting.
Did you root with magisk or any other ?

If you have root you may want to look at app ops on app manager from f droid.
Look at the permission calculator has. Very disturbing

General P11(TB-J606) Successfully installed Android 12(GSI)

I tried to install Android 12 and succeeded. In my opinion, it is still smooth to use, and there are only some bugs. The installation process is very simple. First, ensure that it has been unlocked and that the underlying layer is Android 11. Second, restart to bootloader (ADB reboot bootloader) and then to FastBoot (FastBoot reboot FastBoot). Third, find the image file of arm64 / AB and install it. Finally, turn off avb2.0 verification so that you can start the experience.

You're less likely to retain L1 after bootloader unlocked (a requirement to install custom ROM)
Hi bro, will everything work fine on android 12 gsi, how about wifi and bluetooth function , rotation sensor ?
Hi! I'm asking the same as luizkun. What are the bugs? Does the Active Pen work? What is the overall performance?
And which GSI Image did U used? Can you make a little bit more detailed tutorial please?
I hate the original rom. Laggy, contains many bloatware apps, etc.
Thanks in advance!

You can root your device and uninstall the bloatware.
About the GSI image, he already mentioned which one to install.
For a more detailled tutorial, there are plenty in various places like this forum. Use your favorite search engine to find them.
Also make sure to create a full backup with TWRP or get yourself knowledgeable about Qualcomm's QFIL.
This tablet uses Lenovo Precision Pen 2, not Active Pen. I don't know if it works vut after you testet it, feel free to share your experience!
And regarding the smoothness, the normal p11 version is a low end device (which is totally fine) therefore one shouldn't expect a stutterfree experience.
would you be able to make a more detailed tutorial? Does it work with the stylus and keyboard cover still?
