Ever since I upgraded to Android 10 my titanium backup schedules are not running automatically. I have checked the app settings and set it so the the battery is not optimizing and the app can use battery in the background. The schedule runs fine when I manually kick it off, but it does not start at the scheduled time. I have emailed titanium backup support about this but have not heard back. Has anyone else run into this and know how to fix it? Does anyone have the titanium backup schedules successfully running on Android 10? Or are that alternatives to titanium backup that will backup the apps and data? I am rooted so that is not an issue. Thanks.
Not on 10, still on Pie, but have had trouble with TiBu running a scheduled backup late at night. I was able to improve the reliability by using Tasker to turn the screen on a few minutes before the scheduled run.
Has anyone got to bckp and recover that apps from Android 10? I'm still on a9 and want to migrate to A10. Can I do it using TiBu as the backp tool? I have a Poco F1.

Just to confirm that I have the exact same. No solution found yet.
Schedules not running since Android 10 (OxygenOS). No battery optimizing, working fine when kick off manually.

Pixel 3XL and it works fine provided I remember to manually run the backup after an update or reboot.
OnePlus is aggressive at preventing background apps. OnePlus and other device's methods of killing apps beyond simply battery optimization is discussed on https://dontkillmyapp.com
On TiBu's troubleshooting page
6. Scheduled jobs never run. Why?
If Titanium Backup is installed in external memory and you reboot your device, Titanium Backup can’t re-schedule your tasks automatically after the reboot (due to Android OS limitations). In that case, after every reboot you need to manually launch the app once and then everything will run as planned. To eliminate this problem you can simply move Titanium Backup to internal memory.
If you just installed Titanium Backup from scratch (not an upgrade), please launch it manually once or reboot.

The annoying thing is, that even without Battery optimization, and Advanced optimization turned off, it still won't fire.
I did some tests yesterday.
I made a backup schedule one minute in the future from now and turned off the screen. The schedule was not fired. I assume that battery optimization is not that aggressive, that it is already killed whithin one minute? However, the schedule is fired when the app is opened on the foreground.
So I created a Tasker-task (apparently Tasker does not get killed by some OnePlus-optimization) to wake the screen and open TitaniumBackup. This morning I noticed that the schedule was fired, backup was created.
Not a clean solution, but an acceptable workaroud for me.

Does your device have App Auto-Launch?
You might need to lock TiBu in recents. See if when TiBu is open, then you go to recents, if long pressing the app icon (usually top center) gives you an option to lock the app.

Also locked in recents. But didn't help. Also on my previous OnePlus.
I also had this problem and I eventually reflashed my oos and rerooted and when I tried to restore my backup it never restored my app data properly or at all. And after searching for solutions I saw somewhere that titanium didn't work well on pie or q and that swift backup is working better. I switched and have used it and won't go back

Is there any way to backup the app settings without rooting?
I do not currently have access to a Windows machine to root my phone but I badly need to restore factory settings as the camera keeps force closing when I switch into video mode.
not possible without root.
You could try clearing the cache.
If you're not taking 3D pictures, you can also try download a new video recording app for now till you can root.
Thanks, I managed to find the Linux rooting method so got it all sorted now.
I still seem to be having issues with the time and widgets on the home screen sometimes freezing though, it must be one of my apps as even from factory settings it triggered it after recovering my backup. I ended up reinstalling most stuff from Market and just using Titanium to restore data where absolutely essential, seems to have reduced the problem.
That said, the problem is like that - one minute it will work fine then suddenly one day the time and widgets will fail to work whenever WiFi is connected. Wish I knew what was triggering it, I'm hoping its a glitch with an app that doesn't like Froyo and it will magically go away with Gingerbread.
So, about 2 or 3 days ago I downgraded back to Froyo from the latest Gingerbread leak (too many bugs.) I did so with GTG's Ulimate unbrick, and then I flashed the pre-rooted/ pre-CWM stock ROM to it. I updated to the latest UCKH1 to be up to date, and then I restored a backup I made in ROM Manager a few weeks back. After that, I restored all my apps with Titanium backup. Now on to the issues. First time around my phone literally crapped out software-wise. It was literally force closing everything, texting wouldn't work, the Advanced power menu was gone except for Power Off. That only started after a full day of use with no issues whatsoever. It was completely random. Well late last night, I factory reset and put my apps back on again. Well I woke up this morning to find that my phone's suddenly being dumb again. Except this time the only issues that I know of are, the Advanced power menu's gone except for Power Off, and the home button will not function AT ALL. If anyone has any idea what's going on, or how I can resolve this, please lend a hand.

It sound like every time you encountered a problem it was after restoring your app with TiBu. Are you just restoring apps or apps&data? See how your phone runs without restoring apps. Try restoring apps(without data) and see what happens, or just manually download apps again. Could be a problem with data from the apps.

I was wondering the same. I have indeed been restoring apps with data. Didn't want to lose my Cut the Rope progress But, they may end up being my problem. I've always gotten away without issues, so I guess it's about time for one to happen, haha. I'll try it out after work today and post how it goes.

Most likely the problem lies with the backups being from a GB rom and now you are trying to put them an a Froyo rom. Probably saves it differently or something.
They tell you "Not" to use the backups from Titanium as they can cause issues, I reinstalled back to Stock Froyo as well running the latest UCKH1, When you do the Update to UCKH1 my advice is to go to Settings: Privacy: and do a Factory reset to fix the clock problem The clock will appear screwed up and will correct itself even when it's on Automatic Mode. Otherwise all is fine downgrading from GB Rom. Install all normal apps as usual, Screw Titanium my advice is just save the .apk file for the app in a Folder on your External SD Card, that's my quick way of reinstalling all my apps back regardless of losing settings.
you can also use tibu to restore single apps with data, you can try the ones you want to save progress and see if it causes issues. just stay away from system apps
I've never ha a problem with TitBU, as long as I restored "missing apps & data" ONLY!
same here, regardless of android version or even restoring on a different device. the only time i have seen issues is when i accidentally hit restore all apps with data, including system apps. thats when i got the constant fc and crashing

You know, now that I think about it I actually made a backup from UCKJ2. That's more than likely my problem. Funny how I'm looking for all these complicated things and it ends up being something easy. Haven't restored anything, so I'll wait a day or two and see if everything stays like it should, and then I'll restore only what's needed to ensure it stays that way. Sorry it took so long to respond, had work, haha. Thanks guys all the responses were much appreciated.

Hi to everyone!
This is my first post and so i can't put it into the rom's thread, so i hope that i've placed my question in the right place...
I have an issue using gmail app on cataclysm rom, the automatic sync don't function. I receive mails in the morning, immediatly when i start my phone, but in the rest of the day no notification. But if i open gmail app, and refresh it, mail were downloaded.
All the setting are good, auto sync, data, i've read some instruction on the web and this is not my first experience with android.
I've tried to install another rom (cyanogenmod 11) and the problem disappears.
Thanks for the answers. And sorry for my rusted english
Try signing out of Google and sign back in.
Also check your download of cataclysm.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm also on Cataclysm [Dec 12, 2013 Release] and have no issues...
(hmm read your issue again and restarted my phone, unlocked the screen once, didn't open gmail, turned off the screen. Then sent an email from a different account. i don't get an audible notification or a pulse light, however if I turn the screen on I see the notification icon and the email is there once I unlock the screen and open gmail for the first time. i think that because I'm using chrome, gmail is getting a signal that I'm on the laptop and thus suppressing the notices on my phone (light/noise) as i don't need my phone to notify me of new email if I'm looking/using chrome where I'm logged in and just got an on screen notification)
The good thing about 4.4 is you can logout of all accounts with out factory reset, so do that, then reboot and log in again.
Else it is probably best to start again, full wipe.
EDIT: OK, silly me, I didn't have a ringtone set for notifications phone makes a noise now when I get an email. I think I have to wait longer than I am to get a pulse light notification.
Thank you for answers.:good:
While i was waiting for answers, i have made some ttests.
in cm11 all was good, because my account doesn't restore settings, also ok if i restore all apps from titanium backup without data. But if i restore all data, gmail stop sync.
So i've tried to make a full wipe, reinstall cataclysm, uncheck automatic restore, install all apps with titanium (excluded gmail).
Some minutes to reconfiguring all and for now all is good. :victory:
So, i think was a setting, but i don't understood which one...
Thanks to all, and happy new year!
Titanium backup always screws things up. I've noticed this many times over years of being on here

This messed me up too, I've had to manually install everything and my Nexus 5 is fine now.
The first time I restored I kept getting stutters and pauses.
Selectively restored data for some apps like the Google Auth app.
Glad you got it working, the Cataclysm ROM is really great, stock Google + minor tweaks (circle battery, customise the toggles)

Hey all,
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the lollipop update that just got to our Verizon variants of the One M8. My phone is completely stock, has never been rooted or s-off. I got the lollipop OTA update yesterday and after 45 mins of installing I couldn't wait to see how lollipop would improve my user experience on my phone. Short answer: it didn't AT ALL. The long answer is written out below.
1. Notifications
I don't really like the lollipop update to the notifications bar (1 swipe for notifications, 2 for settings) but its really just personal preference. However, with the update, you can no longer check your notifications directly from the lockscreen. You can't even see the icons of the new notifications at the top without unlocking your phone.
2. Lock Screen
Lock screen widgets are gone with the update. You also no longer have the option of swiping to the left for BlinkFeed, now its just a straight unlock that brings you to the page you last had open. No way to get to the homescreen directly like earlier. Now what the update did that really pisses me off is that you can no longer control your music from the lockscreen. With KitKat, you could skip tracks, and pause the song directly from the lockscreen. Now with the update you can't do any of those. You can't even swipe down from the lockscreen to see the media playing. Literally all you get is the album image of the song playing on your lockscreen. Yeah, just the image, you don't even get to see the name of the song playing.
3. Longer Boot Time
The boot time is longer now. Also once I get past the HTC and Verizon logo's while booting I get a dialogue box that says "Android is upgrading" before it goes to my homescreen. I'm not sure if this the case with everyone but it has happened to me everytime I reboot.
4. Just general unpleasantness
Recent apps takes longer to show all apps (I use grid view). Its quite minor and only noticeable if you compare it with a phone on KitKat but its still annoying. The Google Play Services update was also really annoying and it made my phone hang while it updated. The update also removed the World Clock Globe feature which was kinda cool, especially when I traveled. Again this is minor, but the update should improve the user experience not remove existing features.
Anyways, this is just my take on the lollipop update and it could be different for everyone. I, for one, am seriously considering downgrading back to KitKat (if its possible yet). I really hate it when an update takes my device in the backwards direction.
What did you guys think of the update?
I haven't had any issues with Lollipop on my M8. I've been running Lollipop on my Nexus 7 for months, so I'm already used to it. After getting familiar with it, I prefer it to KK. The slow boot time is probably due to the fact you has "fast boot" enabled on the previous version of Android. HTC has removed it from Lollipop.
UPDATE:
Going to Sound & Notification > When Device is Locked > Show all notifications fixes the notification grievances that I had listed.
just_lou,
I don't think FastBoot is the issue. I had it disabled when I was running KitKat. The issue is the dialogue box of "Android is Upgrading" that still shows up (I just rebooted to see if it shows and it did). I'm not sure if this will go away after a while or not.

If you are showing this repeated it means you either have an app installed that isn't art capable or your cache is corrupt. Backup and factory reset. You should not see that message on every boot.
Still think 4.4.4 is wayyyyy smoother than 5.0. Visually.... 5.0 is nice but its only a few you touches. I'm not impressed. Waste of an update. I'm on 5.0 ROMs which help but I miss my 4.4.4 snappiness lol.

ok I thought it shouldn't appear every time. so I went ahead and factory reset my phone after checking to make sure a backup was present. the most recent backup was about an hour before I updated to Lollipop, so I thought it would be fine in terms of having all the essential data. I used HTC Backup for the process.
Now after the reset, HTC backup can't find the backup when I click "Restore from cloud". All I see is "none" under the "Restore from Backup" option. Now I know for a fact that the backup file is saved on the cloud, I used Google Drive.
Is the phone unable to read that backup because it was done when the phone was running KitKat? If so, then begins the long task of restoring everything one by one.....

No that should not be an issue. I have used it forward and backwards. Open play and then go back to HTC backup. Possible it's not looking in your Google account at all yet.

I opened the Play Store and tried again. Backup still didn't show up. Then I deleted all the accounts on the phone and re-logged in. Still didn't show up. I went ahead and did another factory reset, reinstalled the HTC backup apk, logged in and opened the play store and tried to restore again. HTC backup still didn't find my backup. Then I double checked to make sure that I was using the right account with which I had done the backup. After confirming that, I tried once again deleting all accounts and signing in again and still nothing.
Finally, I tried to sync the account manually and then try. Still nothing.
I have used HTC backup in the past, and it worked fine to restore everything. Just this time it isn't.
Is there anything else I can try?
You know you can swipe right when locked and screen off to get blinkfeed right? Just have to decide now before you turn on the screen if you are planning to go to blinkfeed I guess.
I get my audio controls for Spotify on the lock screen too... With controls to play, pause, next. Just double tap the screen.
The grid recent apps seems to take longer because it's multiple screens of recent apps.
Just a quick tip but you can access your pulldown quick settings menu with the double finger down swipe when the screen is on at the lock screen. Useful for switching to silent or airplane mode without unlocking or using the volume hardware rocker.
That being said, my battery life isn't so great anymore and my GPS is skewed now (I'm always about 30-45 degrees of in the direction I'm facing).
Instead of using that crap "blinkfeed" launcher use the Google Launcher form the play store.
Hi there, your comments would be greatly appreciated.
To keep data, I flash the whole 8.0 stock firmware after removing -w.
After using days, the phone can't be easily unlocked, even by power key or by FPR. Sometimes, I need to wait a more long time for the phone waking up.
Sometimes the incoming call can't even wake it up, I can't answer the call.
Have reflashed the firmware with -w available then restore all my app via titanium backup. the issue persists.
Please help! How to tell which app prevent the phone from waking
Try factory reset and not restoring data with titanium rather Google backup

I'm having a similar issue, but in my case I'm having trouble waking up the phone after it's been unplugged from the charger. If I use my phone all day after a full charge (and after rebooting), it's silky smooth, but the second I plug it in, the issue starts until I reboot again.
It might be extreme, but I've done this multiple times on previous phones. I restore half my apps, say the ones starting with A through M. If there's no problem, then I install half of what's left, say N through S, etc. Keep doing this as a process of elimination. Yes it's tedious but eventually you can narrow down the problem app and/or app data. You could also try restoring all of your apps without data, and if there's no problem then restore the data for half of the apps, etc.
Otherwise, as @PunishedSnake said, don't restore data (or even apps) at all with Titanium Backup. It sucks but we all occasionally have to do that.
I've since factory reset my phone with minimal app installation (no Google restoring of apps), but am still experiencing this frustrating glitch, even with/without unplugging the charger and rebooting.
Debating whether or not I should root (and downgrade).
Safe Mode fixed the problem. I will try to find the apps which prevents the phone from waking up.
How can I do this.

I think I've found the problematic app in my case. I've been using immersive mode through Custom Navigation Bar and after disabling it, my phone has become responsive again. After double checking the app's description in the Play Store, it seems the dev hasn't updated it for Oreo yet.
#FirstWorldFragmentationProblems
Edited: In order to fix this problem, simply use Tasker to disable Custom Navigation Bar's Immersive mode whenever you turn off the screen, and re-enabling it either when you unlock the phone, or only for specific apps (which is what I do).
Yes. try to enable immersive mode via this command
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=apps,-com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
now everything is fine.

Glad to hear you were able to resolve your problem. In my case, I actually don't want immersive mode activated all the time so I may still have to root in order to selectively choose which apps I apply this command to.
