I'm facing a very annoying issue for a while and so far i wasn't able to figure out why it happens.
Sometimes (not all times) after being on mobile data when i came home WiFi doesn't connect automatically to my network. I'm not sure if this would happen in other networks because i only use this one but i guess it's phone fault. When this happen, i go to WiFi settings, it detects the WiFi network but it can't connect even if i force it to connect. The only way to connect is to reboot the phone, thats why i guess its phone fault.
This is very annoying because it's not the first time i think i'm using WiFi and i'm using mobile data and my plan hasn't so much data.
Installed today 193_0 firmware but it stills happens.
This is happening to anyone else?

so I am curious if anyone has run into this issue (or if it's not an issue and rather it's just the way the phone behaves, perhaps someone can tell me if there is a workaround in settings?):
it seems to me that turning wifi on doesn't always make wifi the active connection. it's intermittent, but it appears to happen frequently.
I found out because I started to download some stuff out of my audiogalaxy collection (which REQUIRES wifi, it doesn't let you do it on mobile data) and it kept telling me to enable wifi to continue downloading.
speed tests confirmed that I was on mobile data, not wifi... even though wifi was turned on and connected.
I've also noticed that occasionally, you'll turn wifi on and it won't replace the mobile data icon... I imagine it's all related.
any of you guys encountering this or should I go get myself a replacement?
So, before rooting, my One X had great Wifi connection. No issues. Now that I'm rooted, I can't connect to wifi to save my life. I tried the wifi fix (not the ROM, but the 3 files instead) and still nothing.
I've tried turning off Mobile Network while wifi was on, turning mobile network on while wifi was on, tried restarting the wifi....
I cannot get a connection to the Store, browsers won't open webpages, it's essentially done for. Yet every other device in my house can access the router just fine (and it's not just here, it's elsewhere.)
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this short of flashing the new ROM (which I can't do from my house since the HTC drivers always fail to install.)
Have you tried running fix permissions to see if there's some sort of error holding things up? The only other thing I could think to do is to do a factory restore of the phone, unfortunately...

I have a Nexus 5 that is set up to basically act as a router using wireless tethering. I live in an area where I constantly have full-blast LTE that is usually above 30Mbps. For about a month, everything's been great until this last week. Now, every few hours my data connection gets killed completely after anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours after tethering has been running. Data stops working on all tethered devices as well as the Nexus 5. Entering airplane mode and then resetting the WiFi tether fixes the symptoms, and if that fails, restarting fixes it.
I've disabled wireless_tether_dun (sp?), switched to IPv4 and I sometimes use a VPN that passes through all network traffic through the VPN. Even with VPN disabled, the data drop keeps happening.
I know there are so many things that can be going on, but has anyone else noticed this recently? I'm wondering if it is a hardware issue, a signal issue, or perhaps T-Mobile has changed something on their side of things that is killing my somewhat obvious abuse of their network.

I am having the exact same issue -my post- in a completely different place, only I have been assured it is completely fine to use my phone on the network in this way. Did you ever find a solution to this?
Ever since my phone got the XNPH38R update I've been having an issue with wi-fi
If I connect to wifi it works fine but as soon as I lose the wifi signal it can't seem to reconnect to the same wifi without rebooting the phone. Its especially annoying when I walk to get the mail or come home from anywhere.
I've tried manually connecting to the wifi after being disconnected in the android wifi settings menu but it doesn't connect until I reboot my phone.
I'm running the 64GB oneplus one on t-mobile in the usa.
Any suggestions?

I've had this issue on CM, except it'd work when I manually connected back to the wifi - I believe it's an issue when the phone goes to sleep it's failing to resume wifi connections.
The only thing I could suggest is try downgrading back down, or doing a clean re-install, and reporting this issue on CM's jira, so they can fix it.

I'm on OMNI now, so I can't really help you out, but do try unticking that 'wifi optimization' option, or perhaps using a tasker profile to turn off and on wifi whenever the screen display turns off and on respectively (at the trade off of loosing connection, so you won't be able to download stuff while the phone's off).
i have the same problem..
I live in an area where I usually can't use mobile data so I just keep it turned of until I need it. I just use wifi at home as I'm too far out in the country to pick up a data signal. Two to three times a week when I do turn on mobile data it does not connect. I have to restart the phone, and then it connects right away. Not a battery pull. ..just a restart. Anyone else have this issue? I'm on Verizon.
