Is this the version number of the File manager?, and if so how did you get it?

Yes, its the versión of file manager, you can find It with long press un the icon - information - advance - at the end.
If not you can download that versión on apkmirror

Thanks, for some reason the File manager did not install on the upgrade to Android 10. I got a new FIles apk and I thought that was the new File Manager

apk's install without user confirmation.

Out of nowhere today I installed an apk and somehow it didn't ask for permission to install or cancel. at the Notification bar there is a message that says: ES APP MANAGER and the icon is two gears, the apk installs automatically and there is not window asking for permission. All subsequent apk's install this way. very dangerous.
How do I troubleshoot this issue? .. I went to tablet settings applications (ICS 4.0.3) and I don't see any app with that above name.
Help is appreciated, regards.
EDIT. Found the culprit. it's the new version of ES File Explorer 1.6.2.4.a
I'm using the same version of es and I noticed this too.
I still get the dialogue sometimes though depending on the apk.

I went back to version 1.6.2.2 and disabled automatic update in settings for this apk and it's working fine. I will see if another update past v 1.6.2.4 will work again.

[Resolved] [Q] Change default download location/downloader

I am using a Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII running Cyanogen Mod 11 LTE build.
I am new to the fourm. I know many people have asked how to change the download location before, but I am unable to even use a alternate downloader. I use chrome beta as my browser. I downloaded ES File Explorer and Download Manager, but it never prompted me to use either as the default downloader. I even went into the settings and cleared the defaults. It still never prompted me to use them. Can anyone help?

I use ES File Explorer also and if you want to change the download folder or location goto:
=> Fast access (swipe to right)
=> Go to settings (in back) - select
and you will see a another menu with: - display settings - cleanup settings - Directory settings
- Select and you can change your home directory - your bluetooth share path and your download path
You just need to search a little bit in your apk

Thanks, but for some reason it never prompted me to use it as a downloader. Do you have a fix for that? I think it is a very rare problem since I couldn't find anything about it on the form.

No I'm really sorry.
Have you try to uninstall, wipe cache and dalvik by your recovery, and re-install.

On simply google you can flash the SuperSU 2.67 after the rom and that should fix root. I will update the rom soon I just don't have the time right now.

Problem with apk installation after Android 10 update

After I update my phone Android 10 (non-root), I am unable sideload apk installation. When I tabbed to install the apk files, it kept saying saying, "Sorry, no application available." I had tried forced stop, clear cache, clear data on Package Installer and restart. It didn't fix the problem.
Anyone know how to fix this, please?
I had the same problem for awhile, I just made sure Brave (browser) could install 'from unknown sources' and redownloaded and it worked.
I just found out now that the culprit could be the ES Pro file explorer app. I can install apk files through Asus's file explorer.

I recommend to switch to a different explorer. There has been some news about 1 year ago that ES was bought by some company and weird code was injected in this formerly great app.
I switched to x-plore now.
Thanks. I'll do it right away.

Or get a copy of VER. 4.0.2.2. Search for it. From what I understand this was the last version before it was sold. Works great for me.

Hi,
Do you have Google play store installed? If yes you need a Google account and you can download any app you want.
If you don't you can download ".apk" files from internet , with a file manager go to the folder you downloaded them and click on the file. A prompt will appear asking you to enable "install from unknown sources" option. So you have to go to security settings, enable that option, then go back to the folder, click on the APK and this time you should be able to install it.
Hope this help
