Hi guys,
I have note 7 pro.
I'm trying to screen cast my phone to a tv.
I can do that with no problem. I can stream YouTube videos but when I try to stream video from Amazon prime video only the audio plays and no video it's just blank.
Tried restart, reinstall app, clear data no luck.
Please help.
I also checked I have DRM L1 certificate.
Edit : can cast from note 5 pro but not from note 7 pro.

Amazon prime doesn't let you record screen or cast the screen for piracy issues...hence the screen goes black, only sound can be heard...

No, they have removed that and as of June, they released offical Chromecast support.

In redmi note 7 pro I can record the screen only while browsing through the shows...are you able to record the shows by using screen recorder in redmi note 5 pro??
And I didn't know about screen casting if it's working or not, I generalised the issue...sorry for that...

I can record the screen while the video is playing on redmi note 5 pro using the default screen recorder

Hey guys, I'm on stock rom (non-rooted, bootloader unlocked)
Youtube videos looks pixelated even in the so called 'HD' quality.
But regular offline video playback is great..
Hell, my micromax funbook P300 (7 inch, 133 ppi) displays youtube videos better than my XL.

Yes I have exactly the same problem. I can confirm this is not a bug with the you tube app, this is a bug of our XL because in my Asus MeMoPad there is no pixelation at all while you tube app version is same.

The problem only appear in some device due to weird reasons

Recorded video is Full HD (1920x1080, or the reverse), it appears to be played roughly centered. YouTube plays videos centered as well, and while its UI elements appear to extend further the area with the notch does not appear to be used in playback or navigation.
It doesn't make much sense to play video in the notch, you'd mess up the aspect ratio and lose a chunk of the video. On the plus side you could now have a Full HD vertical video playing and notifications still in the notch area.
No, videos don't reach the notch, they "stop" just under it. When watching YouTube videos for example the notch area is just black.

not in MIUI but yes custom roms do support it

Amazon Prime Video won't play in full screen, even if I click on zoom. Am I missing something?

The picture is good but the sound is not recorded.

Because the built in screen recorder takes the video at compressed 720p instead of 1080p

Most of the built-in screen recording apps are very limited, both on phones and PCs. I recommend that you always install a third-party screen recorder or screenshot app because you will take the time to figure it out once, but you will have much more video recording and editing options. For example, I currently use Movavi Screen Recorder on Windows. I'm a university student, and we have couples through Google Meet, and Movavi helps me a lot in that I can record a lesson and then watch it again if I forgot something or I'm not sure about something.
