They most definitely will not unlock a bootloader after locking it in the first place.

Probably not, there is need of an exploit, but this last only for root, if you want also custom recovery you will must unlock bootloader. No chance to bring back bootloader value to initial state and never there will be.

Some unlocked phones weren't unlocked properly and actually Sprint models. Essential fixed this recently which caused those phones to be relocked.
Best bet is to get a hold of Sprint or wherever you bought it from. Sounds like that unlock "bug" was there for a very long time.

I called sprint and they told me that my phone is fully unlocked for both domestic and international.

You have a different issue. Your phone is not sprint locked. Your phone is not sim locked, period.
Again, the modemst images used to unlock spr variants were dumped from openus devices.

Actually, no brand shares the official method for rooting the phone.
The rooting phone is commonly done by dev or advanced user. That's why I wonder if the rooting with the common method will be in use here. Only if we had the official and standalone release for ROM. The risk will be low & the chance will be high.

Not with Verizon devices. Verizon devices are *DEADLOCKED.* You will never unlock a Verizon sold device's bootloader without exploits.

You need a PC to be able to flash a modified boot.img within Fastboot if the device isn't already rooted.

I haven't seen an unlockable vzw moto since Motorola G7 series.
I've started development work on this device and would be nice to know if I need to consider support for the vzw model.

My assumption is vzw model is also unlockable via moto-key.
It will cost about 60usd to unlock bootloader.
With that said there's no garentee roms or twrp will be fully compatible.
