Hi all, I have a question; At my work we have very spotty coverage, so the lack of wifi calling is an issue for me. Is it possible to get wifi calling by unlocking the bootloader and flashing a lineage or RR ROM? If so, is there any reason I can't flash a custom ROM over the current version of stock firmware? (I have the H3223 model)
Also, if for some reason I can't flash a custom ROM, would it instead be possible to flash one of the European stock ROMs onto my phone and instead enabling wifi calling that way?
TIA
Mike
Kind of the price you pay when you buy an unlocked phone. It was a miracle that the xz premium got WiFi calling. So the odds of someone here building something that turns it on is slim. Custom roms might have the option in the menu but it's essentially a placebo on most roms

I bought the phone from amazon and when I wiped it and put the stock freedom mobile rom on WIFI calling was available (and worked) for me. Now that i'm on lineageOS for the Android 10 stuff its gone again.

Hi guys, I have a G900p on 4.4.2 rooted with Phils recovery. My goal with this phone was to be able and use data internationally once it was unlocked, data didnt work on stock software. So I flashed Shohat Rom v5 and that made my data work, but my fingerprint scanner was unusable. What rom can I flash into this phone to have functioning data and functioning fingerscanner. Please consider that I am in Mexico which is international and I need data.
Thank you
the newest stock rom now has international data working

Hi, I also have a G900p sprint S5 on 5.0 software - G900PVPU3B0G1, but it also picks up no data at all here internationally. It picks up signal calls and all, but no data and I cant find the way to downgrade it to 4.4.2 since every time I try with Odin it simply fails. I wouldnt want to upgrade it to that new version, since then I think it would be even harder to downgrade to 4.4.2? hope you can lend a hand and let me know.
Thanks

well you cant downgrade the bootloader to anything below OG1 if your on stock. but if you root it you can install any custom rom through the custom recovery you added when rooting.
including flashing a 4.4.2 rom as long as your rooted with custom recovery.
when you flash a rom in the custom recovery your only flashing the rom itself not the bootloader. so you can go back to whatever rom you want but it must be done through a custom recovery. so to break it down
even if you upgrade and it doesnt give you the data your looking for you can root and flash an old rom.
one old trick that used to reset the data was a dialer code ##SCRTN# (press those digits in the dialer pad) it resets the entire data profile for the phone . so good luck the rest should be in the forums
If I'm on OG1 and rooted I can flash back to 4.4.2 ? Do I need to flash modem and kernel from the older version I'm flashing ?
Only need WiFi. Has anyone else tried this with success?
Anyone?
I think you just need to flash the kernel for this phone after the rom for the right version of Android. The Sickness has a custom one.

Thank you Troy. I thought as much, but I'm having trouble getting any of the port roms to boot, but this is how I remember doing it before. I'm thinking it's a kernel issue anyway. No big deal.
I have sprint N920P. But there are some problems,
1. no hotspot available
2. some network activation crap when turn on phone
I want to convert it to N920G. How can I do that ? (If possible).
I have another question, If I do something wrong and at the end, flash N920P stock rom, will my phone carrier locked? I don't know how this network unlocking works. Is it on device software or on network side. ?
Thanks
I bought this phone recently and immediately jumped into the rom scene to see what stock roms I could load up. I have tried Ressurection Remix, Carbon, and Lineage. All three of them refuse to make or receive calls when I'm on LTE; from what I understand from searching through the forums is that it might have something to do with VoLTE. I tried to disable it via build.prop but nothing changed and as I mentioned prior attempted to install other roms. I'm going back to stock for now because it makes little sense to only run the phone on 3G only in fear of missing calls.
Model: FRD-L14
Carrier: MetroPCS (It shares the same network as T-Mobile)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly your best bet would just to stick with stock for now until the main Developers get more things fixed because no custom ROM supports VoLTE and there have been numerous reports that T-Mobile has a problem with custom roms.
Basically my phone is updated to Sprint version G930PVPU5BQJ3, and that version apparently has an updated bootloader. T-Mobile's current rom is G930TUVS4BQJ2 with an older bootloader.
Since the QJ3 bootloader is new, I can't successfully flash any firmware that is below QJ3, meaning I can't successfully flash T-Mobile firmware (or unlocked S7 firmware).
Does anybody know if there is anyway around this, or do I need to just wait a month or so for a new version of T-Mobile's rom that has the bootloader updated the same as the Sprint firmware?

Thanks. That's what I thought I but was hoping I was wrong.
firmware bootloader ver.
I have the same problem, no mobile data is killing my functionality. Regardless of whether or not I'm connected to a T-mobile APN I get nothing but calls and messages (texts only no mms/pics), no mobile data of any kind.
Is there a place where the current bootloader priority for some/or all of the various s7 roms (carrier &/or custom) can be looked up? I was considering using a custom rom but need to pick something that will flash with the firmware I have now and work with T-Mobile network. Ideally I would rather use stock carrier rom, since I'm really just a noob trying to use a Sprint phone on T-Mobile network. I really dont want another failed flash and to have to waste more time setting my phone back up with the partial functionality it has now. I'll wait if necessary but I wanted to ask about the bootloader priority and to see if anyone had any other suggestions. Thanks!

Sorry for the question is this new bootloader locked or unlocked. if it is unlocked you can flash a custom bootloader and with that you can flash any rom you like.

Just read Ivpre's post today on a 930p thread, bootloader version is the 9th digit in the firmware name.
How can one determine whether or not the bootloader is locked

Hi. I just joined T-Mobile from Sprint. I entered the APN settings recommended on the tmobile help site, which only worked for about 5 minutes. After calling customer service, I was directed to create another APN profile, basically identical to the one I had originally done, without deleting the first one. After saving and selecting the new profile, go to Settings>General Management>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Push the button to make it so then power cycle. Mine has worked ever since. Of course that was only Monday but still. The tech said that the majority of the time it works although he could not explain why. I talked my wife through the same procedure on her S7 Edge and on hers mms doesn't work. Don't know why.
Hello,
I recently got a G7 power T-mobile variant and was trying to get it working on safelink wireless a Verizon mvno. I have it network unlocked and bootloader unlocked and have been able to flash custom roms and my sim is detected but I can't seem to get any calls texting or data on it. I've been perusing the forum here reading everything I can on the issue and feel like I'm 90% of the way there but missing something. For anyone that has gotten Verizon working on their T-mobile G7 please help with how you managed to do it.
I flashed RR and then the Verizon modem but that didn't work. I'm going to try flashing back to stock T-mobile to see if I can get some connectivity.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
I have already flashed a custom rom to my phone that hasn't had connectivity and the issue is that the custom rom you flashed to your phone doesn't have your regional code for ur area and the tz.mbn file needs to be updated with your area's cod or just re-flash another custom rom because it's rare on how many times I have had to erase completely re-installed new and different Operating Systems to my phone just to learn and try different Roms and only twice have I got a Rom that doesn't support my data.
So just try a different rom from RR and it should be able to work? Should I do a comletely clean install like, wipe system then flash or flash stock rom, then do custom rom over the top?
