Need a stabe rom with grt bb and customisation - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Questions & Answers

??
Hey guys, i just want to share my views and results with you all I have tried pixel experience and havocs os..... mostly people it and any other OS but the roms which have customizations have less battery backup on the roms which have great battery backup have no almost no customizations but now I have found a rom that has great battery backup of 9 hours (SOT) almost and great customisation with almost no bugs. No battery drain nothing else. So I just recommend you to try this rom and join this channel or group. The members of this group are very helpful they will guide you how to flash or any other problems if you face.

What is the best ROM?

Hello,
What is the best ROM for this device? For me is important battery Life and stability. Do you suggest miui or an other rom?
Thanks
For me SMiui, but sadly the ROM is going down (Developer is stepping away), then TS - CM13 is also good, but It hasn't have an update for almost 2 months, TS - OMNI looks like is the only ROM Ive tried and is good and have support.
Slim Rom by far...
miui7 stable
I'm currently using the TS CM13.1 ROM as a daily driver. Pretty much bug free, gets me around 5h SOT every time - heck yesterday I've had data or WiFi on all the time, as well as GPS for 1 hour and a half of screen on and brightness to more than 75% on average and it lasted an incredible 4 hours and 40 minutes!! That said, my device is only 4 months old so I might be that too. It has the most features if we don't count the Resurrection Remix one, which I don't really use anymore due to the high battery consumption. Only let down of this one is that it does not look like it's being maintained.
I've tried Slim6, Mokee, Paranoid Android and Omni as well - smiui was my first ROM, but I'm assuming you're looking to switch away from miui, and if you are not, then I'd say you totally should. Plus smiui is getting abandoned I read.
Slim6 is a light rom which still offers enough features. It has the best battery so I'd go with that one if I were concerned about that mostly. Paranoid Android is also quite full of features, similar to CM in that regard, but it looks like it's still being updated by team superluminal. It's probably just a wee bit lighter so battery life might be marginally better, though you won't notice the change. Mokee is the only official ROM and it's quite full of unique features as well.
Omni is also a complete ROM which I'd say is a good middle path between Slim6 and CM/PA, but since it doesn't have a lot more features than Slim and the battery life is not that much better than the other 3, I'd much rather go with one of the other 4 if I were you, unless something in particular about it doesn't strike you. That said, a new build was released a couple of days ago, differently from the other 2 Team Superluminal roms.
Stability wise, all those 5 are perfect today thanks to the long development they've been through by now.
try use mokee rom dude , its verry good rom for me
You summed it up so well. Pretty much all of the roms above are stable enough as a daily driver. TS's roms are still maintained, but the update cycle is slower (the last update for Omni was just two days ago). I'm using Mokee currently and it has been super stable and the updates (for paying customers) are incremental which makes updating easy. In the end it all comes down to your own preferences. I'm probably going to install TS's new Omni ROM later tonight since I "kinda" liked the Ambient display feature and so far TS's ROMs are the only ones that I've seen the AD feature/gimmick to work.
Obviously, the one all the other CM builds are based on...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/development/source-code-nexus-fy-libra-t3354941
Fully open source ROM and kernel, built by someone other than the main developer, and very stable. The most official unofficial CM13.1 build you'll find.
Try miui.eu for daily usage and game. No lag and more battery backup.
Am using Team Superluminal ROM right now and for my needs it is pretty good. Have tried the nexus-ify ROM but the MTP mode with USB does not work so i have trouble transferring data to my phone. with TS ROM it is fast and stable. Battery life is good, but standard really.
If you have to have more camera control and slightly better camera result, MIUI is the only option but that means stuck with 5.1.1 and it's MRA bug (solvable with Xposed mod i guess but never tried) and no native Doze. But for what it stands right now, even CM camera is giving you many option that can improve your photo quality like denoise/ISO/Contrast/Sharpness level.. except shutter speed.
using Resurrection, no problems, many kernel options; yankactive on last build, no complaints whatsoever, everything works.
if you like costumize rom, use resurrection remix, but if go for camera with stable daily use, use smiui 6.9.29, both of them have good battery life
A team will try to maintain the work on Smiui !
Not the most stable at all though, I'm afraid.
How so exactly? Please file a bug with information.
Compared with MiUI camera, Snapdragon Camera gives equally good results and even more control options. It's just that MiUI has a better UI. You can also control shutter speed in Snapdragon Camera, but you have to manually enter the shutter speed in ms for every shot, which is extremely inconvenient.
MTP doesn't work in my case, so still needs some improvement.
I haven't been testing it but lurking through its thread it just looks like there are too many issues to justify its use as a daily driver. I'm sure it's a great rom which was helpful to further develop the others that were based on it but unstable builds are just not for me.
Smiui lasts one more hour than xiaomi.eu (stable version)
What about the rom with the smallest ram consumption? (slimest rom I assume??). As I am using a 2gb ram version and I need to use those stupid badly developed ram hogging China apps

POLL: to upgrade to Nougat rom or to stay with Pure Nexus Marshmallow??

I've been watching the nougat forums, and the stability of the nougat roms seem to be getting better and better. I am tempted to try one but at the same time, my current setup with Pure Nexus Marshmallow is working nearly flawlessly, with less bugs (camera, hdr, shooting video, etc).
For those of who have made the jump, has it been worth it? Are the improvements enough to justify the many hours needed to setup after doing a clean install?
I am most tempted to upgrade if nougat will actually improve battery life. Has battery life improved from your experience?
Thank you all in advance!
Hi ggoomani It depends on use, time, setup, apps etc. Quick multi tasking, split screen, clear all recent apps, bundled notifications, reply from notification and other new features in Nougat are great, in my opinion it well-worth the time spent on upgrade.
Hi,
Same here. Looking for a stable ROM out there with a better battery backup. But no one is commenting about battery time. Also need to know which is best Custom ROm out there? Myself thinking of CM 14.1 or with AOSP 7.1.1 or DARK ROM . Please suggest me for the same if anything is there out there better than that ?
THanks
I am also on stock marshmallow ROM and by help of few of system mods like custom kernel, sound mod , Xposed I am getting good performance and stability In this ROM. I am confused to upgrade Android N or not, because N is in Development mod, not fully bug free.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Labs

Is it worth upgrading to nougat ? (opo)

I was wondering whether its worth upgrading to nougat . I've already tried using a few of them but reverted due to bugs .
List of roms I've tired
Lineage os (Reverted due to system crash during high performance, Internet connectivity loss , )
Resurrection remix (I was getting only 1hr 30 min of SOT)
Cosmic os (its very new and I found it too buggy )
I've tried clean flashing too but nothing seems to work . I really like the new features but I do not like to sacrifice battery life ,performance.
Should I just stick to Sultan cm 13 or are you guys optimizing your phones in some better way ,please do mention them .Thankyou

Well, for me there is no problem with Nougat.I don't care about xposed,so no issue for me.
Even though a custom kernel can help you with all those issues,I would highly recommend try this,

Currently I'm getting good results with Nitrogen os ,using lightning kernel .Its giving me 5 and about a half hour of SOT will wait more to see how it goes
I was thinking about flashing tuga power but I've been using this guys review as a base before flashing my ROM ,and I felt it was a bit light on features

Yeah, that's because it gives preference to battery life, performance and daily usage more than features. But it has all needed features like magisk+safetynet pass+Viper4Arise and much much more.
Not to mention,it is the most popular rom for OPO.
Give a try yourself rather than just watching lame reviews.
I've used Nitrogen os too,it is nothing but great .
I tried almost all nougat roms, unfortunately, with all the roms I faced duplicate contact issue (whatsapp and google contacts are shown separately in contacts ) and I could not find any solution. Sultan's cm13 is the best ROM for me till now for my usage.
I'm on RR and my SOT is 4+ hours.
I was about to ask the same question. I'm on Sultan's CM13 ROM for a long time now and I was wondering if it is any good going through the hassle of backing up stuff just to get to the newest android version.
I was thinking about SlimRom 7 or idprophecy's LineageOS14.1.

I've tried mostly all 7+ ROMs ,theyr still not up to the mark .Lineage is a good all rounder ,
Resurrection has lots of customizable options but battery life isn't up to the mark (I tried twice was getting about 1hr 30 min sot on 90% charge )
Nitrogen works quite well ,and I found it to work the best for me ,but the frequency of updates is a bit low .You can customise it good enough .
I found cosmic os to be the prettiest of them all but it has a few bugs and the frequency of updates is a bit low
Tuga power also seems to be a good pick
U need to also consider sacrificing your xposed modules if you want the taste of nougat
I suggest you hold of for a month or two and then consider updating

What's the best rom right now for battery consumption ?

Hello everyone,
I'm still on my old OnePlus One and i'm currently having freeze and some issues with this old Sultan bacon rom from cyanogen (yeah, it's been a while tho).
So i'm searching for the best rom for this phone right now and i can't really decide so i told myself i should ask you folks !
My criteria are simple, i'm searching for a rom that is optimized for battery consumption and that is stable.
Also, i just saw a rom was created for Android Oreo, and i'm asking myself if it's really worth it to install a 8.+ rom or a 7.+ for the OPO.
I apologize if it's not in the right section,
Thanks in advance tho ! c:

I tried AOSiP, very stable but had some problem with battery life. Yesterday I flashed AOSPextended v4.5, first impressions are great stability and a better battery life, but I'll give you a better response after some more testing.
I think AOSPextended has no more support for Nougat (they are now releasing Oreo ROM) but I want to use Xposed...
IMHO, sultan's LOS 14.1

Hahahaha
Currently very busy with work, flashaholic activities are on hold for the moment. Will try out your rom later
Battery Optimized = Performance drop and Display Brightness Drop.
Best ROM overall is Lineage OS.
If you care about battery life Just Go to Settings-> Battery -> Current Profile -> Efficiency. You can also lower the Screen Brightens and you are done.
Don't bother with experimental Android 8 ROMs they are not ready yet for the average user.
Well thank you all for you advices, i'm looking at all the roms you recommended me
I'll check in details each specific characteristics !
and yeah frankzappatistas that's what i figured out by snooping all the current 8.0+ roms topic
Its not just about the ROM build, but how Google Play has a tendency to drain your battery with all the alarms & wake locks firing off. Jgcaap has a nice build that is smooth & with quite a few optimization on. Resurrection Remix ROM is still my goto build for its wakelock blocking (be careful with this though) used alongside Lightning Kernel & Naptime by Francisco Franco, you should get pretty decent battery life. DoTOS is very nippy in screen animation & runs apps quickly as well.
It is pretty friendly on battery life too .
Any of these three ROM are fantastic when coupled with a decent Kernel though. It just depends on your personal choice.

Current most stable rom for Oreo ?

I would like to upgrade my Nexus to the new android Oreo - 8.0+ but im using it as my daily driver so i want to get a good stable rom with everything working, what rom would you guys recommend ?
Good question. These roms are really hard to evaluate unless each of is willing to spend the time to download, flash, and test every rom. Even then, we need non-subjective tests to be certain.
Go for Lineage OS 15. It can be used as a daily driver because I've been using it myself for about a week now and i didn't find any lag and u wont be disappointed either
To add further i got 55019 on Antutu Benchmark and on Geek Bench 4 i got Single Core : 1046 , Multi-Core : 2606
I get about 2 and half hours of On screen time with 12-14 hours of usage .
I'm using LineageOS 15 Unofficial by tdukazudon (OpenGAPPs Nano and Magisk 14.5), initially it was very slow and laggy, it settle down now, working good, it's not as smooth as some custom Nougat builds. Anyone on AOSiP or any other Oreo ROM who also tried this LineageOS, please share your opinion, how you compare both ROMs?

Apart from Lineage OS 15 i have used Validus OS and Xperience Roms Both Oreo.
Comparing them i can say that Lineage OS 15 is the best then In terms of perfomance and has good battery life
Validus OS is good in terms of performance but to me the battery life was not so good cox i was able to get only 2 hours of on screen time that too with very light usage. Xperience rom was somewhat laggy to me but had best battery life among the three. I got 3 hours 5 mins of SOT with battery down from 100% to 1%.
Validus OS is the ROM that the most customization options at this time . Can't say much about the AICP ROM though.
To me Lineage OS 15 is the best because obviously its a Lineage OS ROM and no other can beat its performance and secondly because it doesn't compromise much at battery for performance . 2 and half hours SOT with the best performance u can get on the latest version of android. I think that's totally acceptable.

Yesterday I flashed AOSiP 20171203 build, GAPPs Nano and Magisk 14.5, replaced launcher with latest Pixel Launcher, feels like its smoother than LineageOS, pretty stable too, not a single reboot or hang, don't care much about battery and SOT so don't know how good is it at that.
AOSiP 20171203
AOSiP 20171203 is very nice in terms of stability. However, the bluetooth bug currently exists in all Android Oreo ROMs including this one.
The bug that I'm talking about is basically where if you are on a call over bluetooth headsets, there will be a lot of noise in the background and you and the other person will hardly be able to hear each other.
