Hi there, I'm sorry if I asking dumb question. Tbh I don't have enough information about this things.
I want ask question, Can I upgrade my Redmi S2 to LineageOS 16 ARM64? I don't see any information how to flash from stock ROM 32bit.
Currently using Stock MIUI Global 10.3 Stable with TWRP, Root, Magisk.
Thanks
Better is first upgrade to pie eu rom 10.3.4 then flash Los.
Using los from two days after after it's latest build release it's kinda stable with some minor bugs.
U don't need to boot 10.3.4 .
Flash pie flash los reboot.
I Did same.

I upgraded to pie first and then flashed this rom..
About gsi's I've tested 8 gsi's on pie out of 8 2 booted on pie while 5 bootloops while on oreo 7 boots good one gives an error of less system partition. So for gsi base rom of oreo is recommended..

I don't see any benefit about gsi or treble for me. Because I don't have any device uses it. I will try to flash pie based then los 16
Thank you so much
I flashed Lineage 16 Unofficial for S2, release 08282019 (I had MIUI eu 10.3.4) with TWRP and everything working good (exclude Drive (no sync error) but probably problem is not about ROM)! No overheating! And GCam working too.
What if i just flash LOS with the latest global miui rom, will it still work?

I guess it caused by gapps. Perhaps bad flashing or wrong version. Many people like pico version as lightweight no google bloatware

based from explanation above, its should MIUI pie based, or you will get problem.
If you still want flash custom ROM from oreo based, try GSI or treble ROM as he said

@3lsheikh bro i flashed AOSP but it has few bugs, so i decided to flash the LOS 15.1 from Honor 9 lite (from the link u gave) , so to flash the LOS 15.1 i first flashed the TWRP for oreo (flashed successfully), but when i tried to wipe/flash the phone it shows around 6 errors that "data, cache ........not mounted", and when i try to mount data and other partitions it do not mounts, kindly give me the solution? how did you flashed LOS 15.1 successfully?
hope u got my points and sorry for my bad english.

Did someone tried this custom ROM on Mate 10 Lite? If yes how is your experience and what are the major bugs?
i just wanted to try it, but i will wait for custom rom for mate 10 lite.
So guys now all the Honor 8 will be compatible with Treble with the Android 8. Now my question is how to flash treble roms and which roms are compatible with our Honor 8 without bricking it.
My last question is if we have treble, our honor 8 will not have annoying bugs with custom roms right? (ex: camera quality)
It's still kinda early to ask these kinds of questions, wait until oreo is out globally

Funny story. A P9 user in XDA who got Oreo did manage to install a GSI treble ROM (Resurrection Remix Oreo ROM) aid everything worked fine except the Camera. So looks like it could happen to other Kirin 95X devices as well. But hopefully it can be fixed with some tinkering.

Hi. So now when most people have official oreo (L09-C432 has it now too) via hurupdater etc. which Custom ROM to flash? I tried one from telegram openkirin group (LOS B5 preview) and it didnt boot (stuck on LOS loading). There are still only ROMs without working camera?

have you factory resetted the phone in eRecovery?
(and did you flashed the rom through fastboot without twrp?)
Because I'm using the same LOS and it is has the OG hWcamera.
LOS beta 5 is the most complete treble rom that you can use right now for honor8
Just asking are there Treble ROMs that are for Daily use and have functional camera?

OpenKirin's Lineage OS 15.1 Beta 5. This is actually a really stable build and both of the cameras work like a charm, thanks to the EMUI camera app port. This is the ONLY ROM right now that you can use as your main operating system. Please go on and try it! Reminder:
Even if the website says nothing about Kirin 950 support, this LOS version contains the microcode for Honor 8, Note 8 and Mate 8 for the 950 compatibilities. Just follow the steps on the website and you have a highly customizable stock Android experience that works like it was your phone's default OS.

Hello,
i switched back to the xiaomi.eu rom from Android P and now my camera doesn't work anymore.
I also wiped and formated my hole device and installed the offical global rom again but still the same problem:
The Camera always shows the same error. I really don't know what to do anymore.
Alternative Camera apps like Open Camera don't work too.
Were you using MIUI 10 based on Pie?
If so, that's the problem. I avoided this problem flashing (via miflash) MIUI 9.5.19 and than installing TWRP and Xiaomi.eu 8.8.3.

i did. I flashed the official global rom with mi flash but the camera still doesn't work.
The last time it worked was while using the Mokee 8.1 Rom (linked here in xda).
I'm really afraid now that it's a hardware error. That would be fatal.

I've tried
Official V9.6.4.0 Global rom - Camera doesn't work
Xiaomi.eu 8.8.3 MIUI 10 Rom - Camera doesn't work
Then back to Android P Beta - Camera doesn't work
AND now back to Mokee 201808161126-NIGHTLY and the camera does work with the stock Snapdragon Camera
So at least it's not a hardware defect.
But why doesn't it work in all other roms.
i will try the 9.5.19 stable...

Please do that! I would have never come up with that solution by myself, also that it only works if you go back to that specific version.
I asked myself why that's the case.
If you read Closed beta informations, mods told us to NOT back from MIUI Android P based to Oreo ROM because it WILL cause camera FC.
Thanks for give us the solution.
So, after flashing 9.5.19, could I flash latest Miui10 OPEN beta and camera will still work?

I was on 8.8.7 (really sucks). Finnaly went back with any problem:
Flashed 9.5.19 (global stable) through miflash. Bootup and check if camera is working.
Reboot to fastboot and flash miui10 8.8.4 through miflash too (mods says on miui10 update threads than if you come from v9 STABLE you have to flash miui10 beta through miflash. So did it.
After miflash ends and auto reboot device, I just pres vol-&pwr to reboot to fastboot and JUST BOOT (not flash) TWRP v8.
With twrp running, connect to pc and copy to device a previous twrp backup of v10 8.8.2.
Restore it and reboot.... Voliá! I didt remember my phone was so fast! LOL

It does boot, but when it boots to lock screen, it freezes and it auto-reboots over and over again. I also tried to install it with gapps hoping that it would make a change, but it didn't. I tried reflashing stock firmware on Odin, then reinstalled the AOSP GSI using the same steps, still had the same fate.
(Edit)
I also tried to install Descendant OS 3.1.1, but still had the same fate with the AOSP GSI I tried.
I have a bootloop

I looked for locksettings.db and I saw it at /data/system/locksettings.db, I deleted it, still had the same results. I looked for other files that says "locksettings" and deleted it, but it's no use. I'll try it in Descendants Os.

Both of the ROMs still did not boot. Descendant OS didn't boot at all, it's boot animation is going half way through, then it will stop, and it will boot again, then that will happen again. May this problem be caused by variant differences? Because I did all of your steps and it still didn't work. SM-J415GN is the variant here in the Philippines and we never had an update since May 3 (UPDATE FOR ONE UI). In Oreo Firmware, all of these GSIs boot
Try:
format data > reboot to recovery > flash gsi(as system.image) > flash magisk > mount system > reboot.
I have the same problem, cuz I am on pie U4, I tested a GSI rom descended and it's stuck on the logo, the fix did not do anything

Maybe the cause is stock kernel ,

Still does not work. I think the problem with gsi not booting with my phone really is the stock kernel.

I tested this on my J415F U4 and it works, it booted fine.
(( i used a descendant but the quick settings panel is transparent, and there is not toggle to change it, i do not know if the problem is with the rom itself.))

Nope, not that, I mean transparent quick settings, notification. It's not sorta big deal but I reverted back to AEX by Geckyn for now. I hope they'll respond to my request later.

i have problem with my sim card the sim is detected he asks me to type the pine but I have no network
I have a Moto G turbo (Merlin) and i installed Havoc OS in it. Everything works fine except the Camera and the proximity sensor. Whenever I open camera it crashes. I have installed many camera apps and tried it. In the sock rom it used to work fine. Also when I get a call I get a call my screen turns blank and I am not able to attend it.
I think there is some problem with the vendor image cause whenever I switch off my phone and turn it on again it gives an error "
The vendor image does not match system. Please flash the MPDS24.107-56-1-28 vendor image for you device"
Please tell me a way to fix this. I searched for the vendor image in my stock rom but i just found a .xml file that has a similar name. I don't know how to flash an xml file. It would be gr8 if anyone could please provide me with the vendor image for my phone and tell me how to flash it so that I could get this error fixd and take photos again!!
I've never had to flash an .xml image but until you get a better answer there are other Roms you can try,
https://www.getdroidtips.com/custom-rom-moto-g3-turbo/
I am assuming that you are using HavocOS 2.x (pie) by Archer , i believe that the camera bug was resolved in future updates. And about the vendor image mismatch error, it is nothing to be worried about just ignore that (it is not causing the bugs). About the call issue it is something that I am unaware of. Also please dont wipe the vendor partition and there's no real need to flash stock.
I would highly recommend you to flash the latest official TWRP 3.4.0 by Althaf or SHRP 2.3.2 and then flash newer Q ROMs, Q is more stable than P for merlin and there aren't any bugs. There are lots of Q roms available (9-10) including Havoc and other official roms (LOS,AICP).

Are you using this one ?? This is the latest I haven't tested it yet. You will find RR by the same dev on AFH which too has good customization and should be bug free (again i haven't tested it yet, both were released yesterday), I use AICP (I am the maintainer) it has no issues.
---------- Post added at 08:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ----------
And please switch to official TWRP and reflash the rom, the vendor TWRP is not required nor recommended.
also you might wanna join merlin community at TG @motog3turbo

Well, Thanks for the recommendation. I will sure try it soon.
I wanted to install GCam on my phone as it has really good photo processing capabilities. When I searched about it I came to know that I had to enable Camera2 API. So any idea on how to do it in my phone?? (Moto G Turbo - Merlin)
